Miss Beautiful C.E.O and her system

Chapter 778 778: I'm touching that

Chapter 778 778: I'm touching that

As Ling Qingyu walked straight into the high-rise building, weaving through a network of circular lanes for incoming cars, nobody found her presence strange or questioned her.

She had honestly expected someone to cause trouble so she could slap a few faces.

Turns out, movies and novels exaggerated things too much.

Not even a single punk tested her patience. What a waste of all her mental preparations for a dramatic pew-pew moment.

Still, with her cold and sharp temperament paired with a strikingly beautiful figure, who would actually dare stop her?

Although the area was usually restricted to office workers, beautiful women occasionally passed through as well—many of them with powerful backgrounds. Some were even escorts accompanying wealthy clients, something that secretly stirred jealousy among the security guards.

Fortunately for Ling Qingyu, she had no idea she had just been momentarily compared to such women.

In reality, nobody truly thought she was one of them. They weren't stupid to assume that given her suffocating unfathomable aura.

Several receptionists immediately brightened when they saw her enter.

She wore a cool emerald windbreaker over a simple inner shirt and long pants, paired with white walking shoes. The modest outfit still failed to conceal her graceful curves.

Both male and female receptionists behind the front desk quickly prepared to greet her—though the men were clearly the more enthusiastic ones. Their eyes followed her admiringly as she walked past.

Ling Qingyu didn't bother responding to any of them. She simply passed through the security checkpoint using a blank electronic card, leaving a trail of disappointed gazes behind her.

No alarms sounded. Nothing happened.

Athena had already hacked the system and issued a temporary pass.

A few guards frowned slightly, since they had never seen Ling Qingyu before—especially someone unfamiliar who bypassed the reception desk entirely. Still, it didn't seem important enough to raise a serious alarm.

One guard did walk toward her suspiciously.

Following Athena's instructions, Ling Qingyu ignored him completely and swiped her card at a special elevator reserved for VVIPs.

The doors slid open.

The guard paused mid-step, cleared his throat awkwardly, and returned to his position—only catching a glimpse of Ling Qingyu's faint mocking smile before the doors closed.

Inside the elevator, Ling Qingyu didn't even need to press a button. Athena handled everything automatically.

When the elevator stopped at the designated floor, the doors opened to reveal a quiet corridor where three women were busy with phones, typing documents, and jotting notes.

The sound of Ling Qingyu's shoes echoed sharply in the otherwise professional workspace.

One of the women looked up immediately.

"Excuse me, Miss. This floor is restricted to authorized personnel."

That was true.

The entire floor belonged to the secretary department and the server section. Ling Qingyu had deliberately chosen the secretary corridor because Kate's office was located there.

"I'm here to see Kate," Ling Qingyu said with a pleasant smile. "Just tell her her classmate Ling is here to visit."

"Oh."

The secretaries straightened their posture immediately. One of them stepped out from behind her desk and gestured politely toward the waiting furniture.

"Please, have a seat, Ms. Ling."

"Thank you, my dear."

Anyone who could casually address their boss by her first name wasn't someone ordinary. Either the relationship was extremely close… or something far beyond their understanding.

The moment Ling Qingyu sat down, the secretary asked politely,

"What would you like to drink, Miss?"

"Just water will do," Ling Qingyu replied. "Thank you very much."

"It's my pleasure, Miss."

Ling Qingyu took a sip of water. After waiting for a while, she couldn't help but notice that none of the secretaries had contacted Kate yet.

"Hey, young ladies, aren't you going to inform your boss?"

"I'm sorry, Miss. We already pressed the button and are waiting for her response," one of them replied.

Ling Qingyu's expression turned slightly strange when she noticed faint blushes on the trio's faces.

Weird. Was contacting their boss really that embarrassing? It almost felt as if they were hiding some unspeakable secret.

"So Kate hasn't responded yet?"

"Yes, Miss. By the way… may I ask if you had an appointment? We didn't see your name listed, and our CEO usually doesn't expect visitors without one."

The three secretaries looked uncertain, but their doubts weren't directed at Ling Qingyu herself. Instead, they seemed to suspect an error in their own work.

After all, Ling Qingyu carried herself with such natural confidence and familiarity that it was difficult to believe she was an outsider. Her presence alone had already convinced them subconsciously. Not to mention, this floor could only be reached through an exclusive elevator.

"I did tell Kate I'd pay her a visit," Ling Qingyu said casually while leaning back on the couch. "I just didn't say when. So no, you didn't make a mistake. This was simply an impromptu decision."

"I see, Miss."

Studying their appearances, Ling Qingyu nodded slightly in approval.

Kate certainly knew how to pick beautiful women as her secretaries.

About a minute later, a desk telephone beeped. One of the secretaries immediately picked it up.

Ling Qingyu listened quietly as the woman informed Kate of her arrival. She also noticed the secretary sneaking several guilty glances at her, which made Ling Qingyu raise an eyebrow.

Just then, the door that the trio had been guarding opened.

A tall man stepped out. He had a model-like figure and handsome features. He smiled and nodded politely to the secretaries before turning his gaze toward Ling Qingyu.

Ling Qingyu watched him carefully, not reacting even when he smiled.

For a brief moment, his expression froze—and a flash of guilty conscience crossed his face. That alone piqued her curiosity.

Although the man wore a shiny brown suit, Ling Qingyu quickly noticed the disheveled collar and a portion of his shirt sticking out from his trousers.

Her nostrils flared slightly as she detected a faint musky odor mixed with strong perfume.

Before she could investigate further, Kate's voice came from inside the office.

"Ling! How could you come here without even informing me? And how did you even get up here?"

"No worries, Kate," Ling Qingyu said calmly as she stood up and examined her classmate. "You'll find out soon enough."

Then she stopped.

Kate's neck and face were flushed. Her pupils were slightly dilated, filled with excitement tinged with nervousness. Her breathing came in quick, deep bursts—almost as if she had just finished some intense exercise.

Exercise?

Ling Qingyu narrowed her eyes and scanned Kate from head to toe.

Sure enough, she noticed something subtle. One of the buttons on Kate's blouse was fastened incorrectly beneath her jacket.

Ling Qingyu slowly turned her head toward the man who had just left, then back at Kate.

She sighed deeply.

"Don't say a word," Kate said quickly, already knowing what Ling Qingyu had noticed. "Please… come inside."

"Oh, Kate," Ling Qingyu muttered with exasperation. "You're completely hopeless."

She swiveled her head toward the trio and shrugged. "Alright, now I understand why your expressions seem wrong."

"Stop teasing my subordinates," Kate chided as she turned and walked back into her office. "Close the door once you come in."

Ling Qingyu followed her, shaking her head.

"Heck no. I'm not touching something… inexplicable."

Kate instantly froze.

The flush on her face deepened so much that Ling Qingyu could almost imagine steam rising from the top of her head.
