Chapter 941: Want to Die Mercilessly?
Chapter 941: Want to Die Mercilessly?
Chapter 941
Surrounded by double the initial wave that had originally attacked him, Greg let lightning arc wildly around his body.
More earth shards rained down on him from above, forcing him to blitz from side to side to dodge the projectiles that crashed into the ground, gouging the terrain badly.
Dust wafted into the air as Greg bolted forward with blistering speed, closing the distance between himself and the nearest cluster of enemy mages.
Without hesitation, he unleashed a dozen lightning strikes toward them.
Unfortunately for him, a thick earth wall was raised to intercept his discharge; the bolts did nothing but chip uselessly against the stony surface.
Twirling around, he lifted his arms in a cross in front of his face, absorbing the heavy impact of an ice column that sent him sliding backward in throbbing pain.
Digging his feet into the ground, blue arcs of electricity crackled around his frame as he darted forward with overwhelming momentum.
With the force of that velocity, he clobbered his fist into a mage’s face, sending the man’s body blasting through the crowd of enemies like a cannonball.
Vaulting backward, Greg was once again forced to begin leaping from side to side.
He was desperately avoiding a rain of wind swords from the enemy host.
They were like heavy artillery or a persistent volley of missiles, successfully putting Greg on the defense.
The barrage of wind blades refused to cease, forcing him to remain reactive for a little while longer as he searched for an opening.
At that exact moment, a dozen enemies managed to encroach on his position, instantly pummeling him with wind gales and earth shards at point-blank range.
They were close—far too close for comfort.
However, Greg still had superior speed on his side.
Like a bat out of hell, he spun around in a sharp twirl, resembling a localized tornado.
In the process, hundreds of lightning strikes burst from his body and struck the men with full force, sending them flying away from him in all directions.
Weaving through the aftermath of the attacks they had left in their wake, he clenched his jaws and lunged for a mage who was frantically preparing another spell.
Before the man had the chance to finish his chant, his neck began spewing blood like a fountain.
Before Greg could move away, however, a massive club made of earth smashed into his face with such enormous force that his head was flung around, a spray of blood trailing in the air.
From above, an enormous wind gale slammed into his abdomen with crushing power, sending his body crashing into the ground beneath him as cracks deepened along the surface.
He coughed specks of blood, only for his eyes to widen as he saw hundreds of wind arrows closing in on his position, ready to impale the life out of him.
’Uh... What?’

The moment she had punched the enemy mage away, Scarlet didn’t stop.
She whirled around sharply to see Dracko keeping the men at bay, but unfortunately, the fire dragon was being ladled with injuries from the constant magical barrage.
Flinging her hands to her sides, a pair of inferno-like swords appeared in her grip as she glared ahead at the advancing line.
’If Grey was here, he would have been able to handle them all with no problem. He would have been done by now. I can’t be caught lacking.’
With minimal effort, she lifted her hand, deflecting an ice spear which had been aimed directly for her throat.
With a swift movement, she knocked the attacker backward with an elbow to the nose that definitely cracked the bone.
Leaning her head to the side just in time, an earth spear whistled past with terrible velocity.
’Most of these men are comprised of earth, ice, and wind mages,’ she noted, her tactical mind racing. ’With some utility affinities mixed in that don’t even deserve to be on the frontlines.’
She reached that conclusion just before kicking backward to evade a concussive blast of wind intended to knock her unconscious.
Looking behind her briefly, she caught sight of Dracko soaring through the air, weaving through a barrage of spells while turning several unlucky enemies to ash in an instant.
They didn’t even have time to scream.
Unlike Scarlet’s standard flames—which often left victims struggling and rolling in agony before the end—Dracko’s fire was different.
His flames acted like a supernatural acid, melting them into nothingness almost immediately.
The soldiers grew increasingly wary of the dragon, doing their best to steer clear of its path, yet they were still constantly caught in its predatory traps.
Flame arrows continued to erupt from the dragon’s maw with lightning speed, impaling the heads of mages before the fire could spread and reduce them to cinders.
Scarlet snapped her head forward just in time to see an ice spear, as thin and sharp as a fencing foil, lunging for her eye with incredible velocity.
Her pupils dilated for a moment.
But before she could react, shadowy hands stretched upward from beneath the attacker’s feet.
They held the man firmly in place, arresting his momentum just as the frozen tip was an inch away from Scarlet’s face.
A single trickle of sweat rolled down her temple.
"Do you really want to die a merciless death?" an annoyed Kael shouted at the man from across the battlefield.
"If you had harmed her, a devil would have rained havoc on your family after this is all over."
Scarlet blushed with embarrassment as she watched the enemy mage struggling fruitlessly to break free from the lock of the shadow hands.
No matter how much he thrashed, he was unable to move a single inch.
Taking advantage of the opening, the noble quickly tilted her head to the side to clear the path of the spear.
Spreading her hands wide for a brief second, she brought them together on the mage’s face with a resounding clap.
Bright orange flames instantly erupted from her palms, engulfing his head.
— AAAAAARGH!
The mage screamed in pure horror as the intense heat began to take its toll.
Taking half a step backward, she waited for the shadow hands to release their grip before sending the man flying with a powerful kick.
His entire head was now a ball of fire, his eyes glowing orange as his body hurtled back into the ranks of his comrades.
Booom—!
A violent explosion followed shortly after he hit the ground.
