Chapter 903
Staring at the elemental onslaught converging on his position, the Otherworlder was genuinely taken aback for a fleeting moment.
However, he swiftly regained his composure and prepared to dart to the side to escape the pincer maneuver.
As if anticipating this exact evasion, Scarlet rained down a towering pillar of flames from the heavens, sealing that path.
Now, the masked figure was cornered.
He had nowhere to go—or so the squad believed.
A confident smirk crept onto his face behind the mask.
Ki flooded his palms, causing them to glow with a dangerous, golden intensity for a heartbeat before he brought them together.
Clap! BOOOOM!
A massive shockwave erupted in every direction, flinging the trio in front of him off their feet and hurling them toward separate corners of the square.
Swiftly pivoting with a smooth roundhouse kick, he unleashed a massive wave of visible ki; the crescent-shaped slash slammed into the elemental attacks converging on him.
KA-BOOOOM!
A thunderous crash echoed through the town, followed by a violent shuddering of the earth, as if a localized earthquake were erupting.
A massive blanket of debris and dust obscured his position entirely.
Only for a pair of vengeful eyes to tear through the haze.
Scarlet propelled herself forward, her hands positioned behind her body and oozing fire like a rocket engine.
"Huh?"
It happened in less than a second.
He caught a glimpse of her crimson hair, and in the next moment, a fiery punch shattered against his abdomen with the force of a battering ram.
The Otherworlder lurched forward, gasping in pain.
Before he could recover, a rising knee kick hammered into his chin, snapping his head back.
An orange glow intensified around the girl’s palms as she pressed them against his midsection, moving quicker than he could react.
"Extrido...."
The Otherworlder’s eyes widened behind the mask.
Then, a trail of white-hot flames erupted into an explosion so massive that his entire body was sent hurtling away.
He crashed into a distant building, the stone structure crumbling into ruins almost instantly upon impact.
Digging his palms into the cobblestones, Raze halted his own momentum.
Lightning arced dangerously around his feet, and with an ear-shattering bang, he launched himself toward the wreckage where the Otherworlder had landed.
Within a heartbeat, he was hovering over the debris, lifting his hands high above his head.
A massive orb of spinning flames materialized between his palms.
Hurling it downward, the orb slammed into the ruins with crushing force, further pulverizing the house and sending a violent current of wind blasting outward.
Raze wasn’t finished.
His hands crackled with fresh lightning, ready to unleash another strike into the dust, only for his wrist to be caught in a vice-like grip.
’Huh?’
He looked down to see the crimson mask glaring back at him.
Then, a kick so powerful it felt like being struck by a literal mountain bashed into his face, spraying blood into the air.
His body flew past a stunned Scarlet; he would have been tossed out of the square entirely if Kael hadn’t waved a hand.
A shadow portal yawned open behind the boy, swallowing him whole before spitting him back out safely near the group.
The Otherworlder pulled himself from the rubble.
His sleeves were burnt off, and blood dripped from a jagged injury on his arm, staining the ground.
"Water creation magic; Water Cannon!"
The figure lifted his head quickly, his eyes widening as a concentrated pillar of water slammed into his chest.
It was meant to send him flying, but clenching his jaws tightly, he hammered his feet into the earth.
His toes dug deep into the stone, causing a crevice to snake beneath him as he braced against the pressure.
The heavy orb of water was unable to push him back an inch further.
Vanica quickly turned toward Raze, who was on his knees coughing up crimson.
She held out her hand, and a soft, white light coalesced into a shimmering crown that floated forward to rest on his head.
Raze’s body lit up for a moment, followed by a soothing sensation that rushed through his veins.
The coughing ceased, and his wounds closed as the light faded.
With its job done, the crown disappeared.
"I guess I was right to target you earlier," The Otherworlder remarked from the distance, his voice chillingly calm as he watched Vanica restore Raze to full health.
"... You are a problem."
He was about to dart forward when a clamorous bang echoed through the square.
At his flank, Greg appeared, a lightning spear gripped tightly in his hand.
Jabbing the weapon forward with all his might, Greg forced the Otherworlder to grit his teeth and spin violently, causing the spear to whistle past his ribs by a hair’s breadth.
Before the figure could mount a counter-attack, Raze was already in position.
A dozen fiery arrows shot toward the man with deadly velocity.
Digging his feet into the scorched earth, the Otherworlder began dancing around the projectiles as if they were nothing at all.
He weaved, ducked, and sidestepped the incoming streaks of fire with a fluid grace that bordered on the supernatural.
Raze clenched his jaws tightly, casting a quick glance toward Greg.
They exchanged a brief, silent look.
Memories of countless shared battles flooded their minds, and a moment later, they exchanged a crisp nod of understanding.
Within a second, they locked their gazes back on the Otherworlder.
He was preparing an offensive, but before he had the chance to initiate, the two boys launched forward with renewed, lightning-boosted speed.
Arcs of electricity crackled around their frames, pushing their agility to a new peak.
Reaching him in a heartbeat, they delved into a seamless, coordinated assault.
Bolts of lightning flew between them, weaving a net of energy around the Otherworlder.
Seeing the tightening trap, the masked figure was forced to focus entirely on defense for the moment.
Leaning his head to the side, he avoided a lightning arrow from Greg that whistled past his ear, colliding with the air in a loud, concussive bang.
Before he could reposition his center of gravity, Raze had already launched a fiery punch that was only inches away from connecting.
The figure leaped backward to evade the strike, but Greg clicked his tongue in anticipation.
Above them, a lightning spear the size of a tree trunk screamed down toward the Otherworlder’s position.
The masked man briefly glanced upward, a dark, frustrated look flashing behind the eye-slits of his mask.
Left with no other option, he flooded his palms with ki and crossed his arms above his head just in time.
WAM!
The attack landed with immense, crushing force, scattering brilliant sparks of electricity in every direction.
"Now I’ve got you," Raze grinned, his face lit by the flickering glow of his magic.
He clapped his hands loudly, and in an instant, five hundred flame spears burst into existence, screaming toward the cornered Otherworlder with blazing speed.
