However, her message wasn’t revealing anything, it simply asked when Di Mingzhe would be coming home.

Dan Lingling probably couldn’t unlock Di Mingzhe’s phone, so it should be safe if she only reads this message, right?

Di Xiaxia felt a little uneasy, yet she reassured herself, believing she was left with no other choice.

After Dan Lingling hung up the phone, her pretty face soon turned gloomy.

She had a hunch that there was nothing ordinary about this fourth sister.

She had inquired about Di Mingzhe’s house, but the folks there were tight-lipped, not revealing much. The only thing she knew was that he lived with his sister.

Viewing the message displayed on the phone, she squinted.

It read, "Big Brother, when are you getting home tonight?"

The text didn’t appear suspicious, but her womanly intuition sensed something wrong.

She pondered for a moment and tapped on Di Mingzhe’s phone, trying to unlock it with his birthday, but failed.

"Miss Lingling." The voice of Gu Mian suddenly came from behind.

Dan Lingling jumped a bit, but she swiftly hid her shock and subtly returned the phone to where it had been, picking up a foreign document from the desk.

Gu Mian’s fitting smile appeared at the doorway as he asked, "Is the Master asking whether you are well?"

"Yes." Dan Lingling replied with a smile, "Let’s go."

She was there to collect a document for Di Mingzhe and had noticed his phone ringing when she arrived. Normally, she wouldn’t answer a call on someone else’s phone, but she saw the name displayed: Xiaxia. Curiosity got the best of her and she picked up the phone.

Dan Lingling followed Gu Mian out while recalling his close relationship with Di Mingzhe. Pretending to be nonchalant, she asked, "Secretary Gu, how many sisters does the Master have at home?"

"Two." Gu Mian smiled and asked back without a second thought, "Why does Miss Lingling ask?"

"Oh." Lingling smiled, "Wasn’t someone sick at the Master’s house last time? I visited and it was one of his sisters, Di Xiaxia."

"Xiaxia, huh." Gu Mian quirked a lip, "Xiaxia is the Master’s fourth sister."

"Is she his real sibling?" Lingling couldn’t resist asking.

"No." Gu Mian shook his head, "The Master only has one biological sister, the fifth sister. The fourth sister, Xiaxia was the daughter of the Master’s mother’s close friends. The Di family took her in after she lost her parents in an accident."

Dan Lingling was shocked by this news, immediately furrowing her brow.

"Is there a problem?" Seeing her reaction, Gu Mian couldn’t help but ask.

"Oh, no." Dan Lingling regained her composure, shaking her head slowly before smiling, "I was simply wondering. It appears the Master and his sister have quite a close relationship."

Di Mingzhe always seemed calm and collected, restrained in his speech, neither overly affectionate nor aloof. But his distance made him appear indifferent, making personal conversation difficult and often being skillfully dismissed.

Upon hearing Dan Lingling’s words, Gu Mian raised an eyebrow. She was not fully aware of Di Mingzhe’s private life but given their families’ close ties, she knew more than most.

Yet, regarding Xiaxia and Di Minzhe’s relationship, she genuinely didn’t know.

"Miss Lingling." Gu Mian’s face turned stern as he said in a serious tone, "You should know that the Master does not approve of others prying into his private life. The relationship between him and Xiaxia is simply that of brother and sister."
