Chapter 323 - 324: Is It Thanking Us?

Gu Qibao blinked a few times before ultimately sighing in disappointment, "All right, let’s go."

"Alright." Di Mingjue nodded in agreement.

Just as they were about to set foot on their way home, the little fox suddenly scurried out of the bushes once again.

Its large, round, sparkling black eyes stared up at the two of them, seemingly scared and wary.

Gu Qibao halted in mid-step, a pleasant surprise showed on her face as she tried to beckon it over.

However, the fox just watched the two of them without approaching, but to their amazement, it started shaking its tiny paws like a beckoning fortune cat.

Gu Qibao’s eyes widened in surprise, "Is it...thanking us?"

"Maybe so." Di Mingjue smirked at the unexpected intelligence of this tiny creature.

"Incredible!" Gu Qibao was amazed. Once again, she beckoned the little creature closer.

Unexpectedly, after wagging its paws for a bit, it took a quick glance at them, and then turned and sprinted away. It was suddenly running so fast that it was as if a lightning bolt had flashed by, seemingly unaffected by its previous injury.

Gu Qibao’s eyes almost popped out of her head. She grabbed Di Mingjue’s hand in shock, "Oh crap, babe, did that thing just become a supernatural creature?!"

"Possibly." Di Mingjue frowned as he stared at the spot in the underbrush where the fox had disappeared.

"What?!" Fear made Gu Qibao jump into Di Mingjue’s arms, a tremor in her voice, "Babe, don’t scare me!"

She really got scared quite easily!

"Bravo." Di Mingjue snuggled her with distaste, "Watch too many supernatural novels, have you? Don’t be paranoid."

Gu Qibao pouted and rested comfortably in his arms, shaking her head nonchalantly, "In this huge world, anything is possible. There might be supernatural creatures and monsters. What if that little fox has already gained intelligence or even supernatural powers? Maybe out of gratitude for saving its life, it might transform into a seductive woman to repay you."

Di Mingjue knitted his brows, "Oh? Your speculation is not entirely impossible. Maybe one day a woman will come knocking, insisting on repaying me for saving her life."

"Will you accept it?" Gu Qibao asked hastily.

"Depends on the face." Di Mingjue casually replied.

Gu Qibao covered her face, Good heavens, he’s a real lady killer!

"Absolutely not! You have to remember, you are spoken for now, you absolutely cannot womanize." Gu Qibao pouted, made a domestic castration motion, "Or else, I’ll castrate you!"

Di Mingjue smirked, wife, you are really violent!

But I like it!

"So, in order not to get castrated by you, I suppose I’ll have to reject even the most seductive of blessings." Di Mingjue frowned, pretending to be helpless, "Such blessings could only be left for our son to enjoy."

"Pfft..." Gu Qibao couldn’t help but burst into laughter, tugging at his ear, "hey, hey, hey! That’s not a blessing, they’re entirely different species!"

While they were laughing and teasing each other, to their surprise, the fox that had run away earlier peeked out from another clump of bushes, seemingly contemplating, its eyes fixed on the two.

After they came down from the hill, other friends and relatives had also arrived, and the village was buzzing with enthusiasm.

When Di Mingjue and Gu Qibao appeared within everyone’s sight, they undeniably became the center of attention.

The reason being Di Mingjue’s shirt!

His originally white shirt was smeared with patches of yellow dirt. Though Gu Qibao had cleaned it up a bit, the yellow stains on the white shirt were quite noticeable, attracting everyone’s attention.

The way people looked at them changed, as if they had done something indescribable.
