Chapter 315: I would never harm Arlo, even if it costs my life!
Scarlett Morris strode out of the lounge, "Ariel Morris, now that Arlo Seys knows the truth, let’s see how you pretend! White lotus!!"Ariel Morris got up and walked step by step toward Scarlett Morris, her eyes filled with icy light, extremely cold, "Scarlett Morris!" A sharp slap landed harshly on Scarlett’s face.
Ariel looked at Scarlett, her words were as cold as ice, with no warmth, "The so-called truth you speak of is only the truth as you see it! Scarlett Morris, not everyone is born privileged like you! Yes! I was adopted by the Morris Family! I was born to be a pawn! But to use my hands to hurt Arlo, I won’t do it! Even if it kills me, I won’t do it!!"
Scarlett was frightened by the cold light in her eyes. From childhood to adulthood, Ariel Morris had always been extremely tolerant in front of her, and this was the first time Ariel had ever been so furious in Scarlett’s memory.
Since childhood, she bullied Ariel, understanding that she was the biological daughter of the Morris Family, while Ariel was adopted, so she bullied Ariel, and Ariel would just endure it, and their parents wouldn’t interfere, making bullying Ariel her habit over time.
The habit made it natural for her; she never thought Ariel had such a temper and such an icy side, so frightening when she was angry.
Ariel no longer looked at Scarlett, quickly running to chase after the already distant Arlo Seys.
Scarlett looked at her anxious, frantic back and sneered coldly; if she had known this day would come, why bother abandoning Arlo Seys in the first place! Scarlett picked up the thermos on the ground, her face full of jealousy.
She couldn’t understand why their mother would make chicken soup just for Ariel and not let her have any! She was the biological daughter! Ariel had taken away her parents’ love; how could she not hate her!!
When Ariel rushed into the lobby, she couldn’t see Arlo; she asked the receptionist urgently, "Where’s President Seys?!"
The receptionist was startled by her urgent tone and pointed toward the elevator.
Panic clouded Ariel’s eyes as she picked up the reception desk’s phone and dialed the extension for the General Manager’s Office on the sixty-eighth floor.
As soon as the line connected, she urgently asked, "Special Assistant Walkers, did President Seys go to the sixty-eighth floor?"
Her voice carried a hoarse, frantic tone, Callan paused, "No, hasn’t President Seys gone to see you, Miss Morris...?"
Before Callan could finish, Ariel hung up the phone with a slam and rushed into the elevator, pressing the button for the negative second level.
Since Arlo hadn’t returned to the sixty-eighth floor, it could only mean he was headed to the underground parking lot.
The elevator doors opened, and Ariel quickly rushed out. She saw Arlo Seys already starting the engine, his face indifferent.
"Arlo! Arlo!!"
Ariel shouted toward Arlo Seys, but Arlo remained indifferent, not even sparing a glance.
Seeing the car about to move, Ariel dashed forward, recklessly throwing herself in front of it.
Arlo’s icy gaze shot toward her, "Move!" His voice was so cold it lacked any warmth.
"Arlo! Listen to me, it’s not what you think, eight years ago...."
"Get out of the way, Ariel Morris!" His cold voice harshly interrupted Ariel’s explanation.
Ariel looked at Arlo’s indifference, feeling as if a knife was twisting in her heart. His cold, frightening face made her heart ache to the point where even breathing felt a bit labored. Ariel stood firmly in front of the car, refusing to budge an inch; her eyes misty with tears but resolute, "I won’t move! If you have the guts, you can run me over!"
If she moved, he would leave, and only if she died would she let him leave!!
Both had stubborn and resilient natures, facing each other in the underground parking lot, reminiscent of when they first met eight years ago in the ’Royal One’ KTV basement parking lot.
His gaze was cold, filled with frost.
Her gaze was startled, filled with fear,
