Chapter 314: Eight years ago, you slit your wrist and committed suicide...

Ariel Morris took the thermos and her eyes softened. It turned out her adoptive mother still cared for her, making soup especially for her and sending Scarlett Morris to deliver it. Holding the thermos, Ariel couldn’t help but smile; the warmth she treasured most was family. Her adoptive father and mother held her in their hearts, and that made her content.

Scarlett Morris noticed the slight smile on Ariel’s lips and found it particularly glaring. Not only did Ariel steal her parents’ love, but now she seemed to be flaunting it with that smile. How could she tolerate it?

Scarlett let out a cold laugh, looking at Ariel with sarcasm, "Eight years ago, you threatened your parents with a wrist-slashing suicide to get them to send you abroad. Why are you back now, entangling with Arlo Seys?"

Outside the door, Arlo Seys, who had just arrived at the lounge to find Ariel, stopped in his tracks. All the blood in his body seemed to freeze, causing him to shiver.

What did Scarlett say? She said Ariel had attempted suicide by slashing her wrists eight years ago?!

Arlo retreated two steps in a daze, his pupils contracted sharply, and a glare of disbelief burst from his eyes.

"Scarlett Morris! Swallow your words!" Ariel’s eyes were cold as she fiercely stared at Scarlett.

Scarlett chuckled lightly, indifferent to Ariel’s impending fury, "Ariel Morris, what’s wrong? Are you afraid Arlo Seys will find out? Are you afraid he’ll learn that eight years ago you used wrist-slashing suicide to leave him, forcing your parents to send you abroad? Ha, Ariel Morris, I’m truly looking forward to Arlo Seys’s reaction if he finds out the truth! He’s devoted to you, never forgetting you even after eight years, and he’s willing to start anew now. If he learns that eight years ago you threatened your parents to send you abroad just to break up with him, what do you think he’ll do? Want to strangle you or kick you away?"

Ariel grabbed Scarlett’s wrist tightly, her words icily cold and deliberate, "Scarlett Morris! If you dare say those words again today, I won’t let you get away with it! And if you dare reveal any of this in front of Arlo, I guarantee you’ll regret it!"

Scarlett’s wrist was tightly clutched by Ariel, pain surged, causing her to frown, "Let go! Ariel! Can’t others talk about what you did back then? Am I lying? The scar on your left wrist was from slashing it back then!"

"Scarlett, I told you not to speak of it!" Ariel threw Scarlett’s hand aside, her eyes filled with frigid cold, "Scarlett, keep those words buried in your stomach today! If Arlo finds out even a single word, don’t blame me for not warning you, I’ll hit you!"

"You wouldn’t dare, Ariel Morris!" Scarlett glared at her angrily.

Ariel coldly chuckled, "Try to reveal even half a word! See if I dare!"

Scarlett was furious, glaring at Ariel. Ariel’s extremely cold gaze shot towards Scarlett, and in the lounge, the two women’s eyes confronted each other coldly in the air, both filled with displeasure and disdain for the other.

"President Seys, why are you standing here?" A female voice sounded from outside the door.

Inside the lounge, both tense figures shuddered.

Arlo—Ariel’s body trembled violently, feeling as though a bucket of ice water was poured over her, cold to the core, freezing her breath to the point of stopping.

Heavy footsteps sounded outside the door, growing farther away. Ariel finally snapped back to reality and immediately rushed out.

As soon as she dashed out the door, she saw that icy silhouette quickly disappearing down the hallway.

"Arlo! Arlo!! Listen to me!!" Ariel chased after him in panic and fear, her eyes suddenly reddening.

Due to her rushed and flustered steps, Ariel twisted her foot and fell to the ground after only a few steps, the thermos rolling three meters away on the ground.
