Chapter 414: Ch
Chapter 414: Ch
Enough, all of you!!"
The First Prince, Kronos, who couldn’t stand to hear this anymore, spoke up and stopped everyone at once!! "Whether it is good or not, we will know for ourselves once we have it! So, what is there to argue about?!"
"And what if they are superior? With enough time, we can always learn and build something on that level as well."He had absolute confidence in the abilities of his people and his race. For in his belief, there was no race throughout existence that could match the talent and perseverance of his own. Supremacy was their fate!
But while he was proud of his bloodline and race, he was also a realist who preferred to live in the present rather than dream about a distant future.
While supremacy might have been the fate of his race, that time had not yet come. For now, partnership was the only way forward. "But one thing is clear to me as well—time is something we currently do not have plenty of. With the Orcs becoming more and more aggressive, and given their sheer numbers, it is only a matter of time before we fall at their hands! So, it is better to rely on a big hand to hold up our sky!!
"And my great-grandfather has spoken about this, too—collaborating with the Void humans will only benefit us, not harm us!! That gives us even more reason to trust them! For my great-grandfather has never been wrong!! And he never will be!!" Prince Kronos spoke with determination, an overbearing aura washing over the room.
His grandfather was a Seer, someone capable of looking into the future and the fate of anything, whether it be an individual being, an entire race, or something even greater.
So whatever he said could only be right. Believing in his words was only natural, and following them was even more so.
[ALERT: Spatial fluctuation detected ahead of the space station.]
"They are here," Kronos spoke upon hearing the warning. He looked back at the others. "I know you all have different opinions and do i, but for now, I hope you put them aside just like me and do not do something stupid here!" he spoke to each of his subordinates, his face completely serious.
"We understand, Prince!!" they all solemnly replied.
They might have had different opinions on this matter, but they weren’t fools who would do something they shouldn’t. Proud as they were of their achievements, and of the progress and accomplishments of their race, they also understood that, at present, they could not afford to offend this newly appearing human power.
It was like a Sword of Damocles, one half holy light and the other covered in darkness. For now, they had only seen the holy side of that sword, and they had no desire to face the darkness hidden behind it.
"Hmm," the First Prince nodded as he turned his gaze back outside the space station.
There, a 6-kilometer-long ship suddenly appeared, followed by five more vessels of the exact same design and length!! They were followed out by a super-massive mothership, which had a length exceeding 240 kilometers!! That leviathan was then surrounded on all sides by another twelve battleships, forming a flawless defensive escort formation!!
Within the mothership—a Generation One or, rather, peak Tier 4 class vessel—was situated none other than Lady Yan Shi’s secretary and direct subordinate, Luna.
Followed by twelve people behind her, these individuals were none other than the heads of the top ten enterprises created by the winners of the grand competition held not long ago.
Of these ten, four were mech corporations. Leading them was the top winner, Benjamin, whose company—Thunder God Corporation—specialized in building swordsman mechs. He was followed by the second-place winner, Marco, whose company, Spear Saint Corporation, specialized in spear mechs and the like.
Following them was Julie, the third-place winner; her company specialized in building heavy knight-class mechs with unmatchable and almost indestructible defense for their class.
Then there was Carla, whose company specialized in different types of marksman mechs, boasting unmatchable, destructive long-range power unbeatable by any of the same class, combined with good defense, high speed, and agility.
There were beast mechs as well, which specialized in saturated bombardment, and so on and so forth.
Of the remaining six corporations, two specialized in starfighters, building a lightweight type and a heavyweight type respectively. They were the top rankers of that category in the competition, named Kenny Clark and Jasmine Rose, both coming from well-off families!!
The next two belonged to the warship department, each bringing their own specialities. Finally, the last two were state-owned companies. One specialized in building everything from spaceships and mechs to starfighters, star fortresses, and battle stars, while the second was a planetary defensive weapons manufacturing company.
Both were part of the Imperial Research & Development Department, and they had come here to deliver the massive order that the Azura Imperium had placed a month ago!!
Just then, the ship’s AI reported to Secretary Luna, "Mistress, we have received a request for direct communication from the Azura space station, directly under the name of their First Prince, Kronos!! Should I connect you?"
"Oh?" Hearing this, Luna barely reacted, though a small smile formed on her face. They place quite a bit of importance on this, don’t they? At least at face value, she thought, before replying, "Go ahead, connect him."
A projection of the white-haired, white-horned Kronos appeared. With a polite smile, he said, "I welcome you, Secretary Luna, and your contingent here to the Azura Imperium!! I hope your travel here was smooth, with nothing unexpected happening!!"
Though they sounded like normal words, they were full of hidden meaning. This didn’t escape Luna, though she acted as if she didn’t understand and simply said, "The travel was good—and boring!! Though thank you for asking, Prince Kronos."
"That is good," Kronos said. A few imaginary black lines appeared on his face, which still remained neutral and expressionless, save for a slight twitch of his forehead.
"Anyway, let’s move on to the matter at hand, Prince. Where should we land and offload? There is quite a bit of stuff that needs to be moved!! However, I would like to have you quickly move your people and board my ship to take out the bigger vessels; the rest of the assets can be moved directly onto the space station."
"Hmm," Kronos nodded, putting away his random thoughts. "That was my thought as well!! After the bigger ships have been moved out, you can guide your vessel to land inside Hangar Number 1. We will guide you."
"Got it, I understand," said Luna.
"Then please wait for us to board!!" Kronos said.
Expectation was visible on his face, as well as on the faces of the others—even those who had previously opposed the deal!! They all desperately wanted to see the things they had ordered at such a high price, to find out if they were truly worth that much wealth.
Quickly, they boarded a ship that was in Hangar Number 1 and joined another group of vessels that were moving pilots and personnel—the crew who would be responsible for flying the bigger ships out from the Void Fleet’s mothership!!
Not long after, they all landed within one of the massive hangars of the mothership. Kronos, followed by his inner circle, exited first, while the others followed closely behind. They moved toward the waiting contingent of Luna and her colleagues.
Kronos shook hands with Luna. "Seeing you face-to-face makes me realize you are an even more brilliant lady, Luna, just like your subordinates!!"
Luna smiled and accepted the compliment graciously. Stepping aside, she made way and said, "Please, come with me, Prince Kronos. I’ll lead you and your group toward your most vital assets."
"Then I’ll have to trouble you," he said, his excitement barely controlled.
Luna smiled and boarded a shuttle parked not far from there, which led them directly toward the central hangar.
As they moved toward an enormous vessel sitting there calmly, everyone stood frozen in absolute astonishment!!
"This...!!" Kronos stood completely astonished, looking up at a super-massive vessel. It was coated in deep indigo blue, sporting the flag of the Azura Imperium, and an incredibly powerful aura washed over him just by looking at it!!
Luna’s smile grew wider. She proceeded to introduce the ship in front of everyone. "For the Imperium, this is one of our prized creations!! Specially changed and altered to match your tastes and needs!! This is a dreadnought-class battleship that we call the Imperious Indigo—a Tier 3 vessel!! It has a maximum length of 12 kilometers, a width of 6 kilometers, and a height of 3 kilometers!!
"It is made up of superior Tier 3 alloys and multiple top-tier systems!! Those give the Indigo the ability to fight any ship of the same tier, and even against quasi-Tier 4 ships, it can still perform exceptionally well and hold its ground!!"
