Chapter 387: Ch
Chapter 387: Ch
While he was still unable to muster the strength to retaliate, Kael didn’t stop. He kept pressing the Genesis Law Realm being without pause.
After dragging him out of the spatial fold, Kael rushed forward and struck immediately with a blade energy attack.
Sensing a hint of death within that strike, the Genesis Law Realm being reacted instantly. Pushing his body to its limits, he executed a speed technique and narrowly avoided the incoming blade energy.
He let out a breath of relief, thinking he had survived the surprise attack.
But who would’ve thought—
Just because he avoided it didn’t mean the attack had disappeared.
It was still there... and now it was hurtling straight toward the Hegemony fleet behind him.
"Damnit! What are you all doing?! Help me defend that attack, or the fleet will suffer devastating losses!"
The Genesis Law Realm being shouted, calling out to his two companions for help.
"Damn it, Old Bell! You dodged it yourself and now you’re pushing it onto us? What makes you think we can defend something you couldn’t?!" One of them cursed back.
And then, following that voice, two old beings appeared.
Their appearance was humanoid—they looked like humans—but that was merely a form they had taken. In truth, they were beasts... Void Beasts, to be exact.
Creatures usually found in special regions or isolated realms, like the Void Realm itself. They were inherently powerful beings.
As their name suggests, they are beasts that exist within the void—a chaotic expanse beyond the spatial boundaries of the universe, a place where nothing truly exists, yet stretches on infinitely.
Unfortunately, these three were not true Void Beings. They were far inferior. If they were genuine, they wouldn’t be stuck at a false Genesis Law Realm—they would be far more powerful than what they currently were.
Each of them was controlled by major powers—the Star Empire and the Alchemy Association. Two of them belonged to those factions, and the ones who had just appeared were precisely from their ranks.
Both of them knew one thing clearly— On their own, they could not defend against that incoming attack without suffering injury... especially this early in the battle.
And that was something neither of them wanted. They glanced at each other and nodded.
Raising their hands in front of their chests, they began to muster their law energy. Then, without hesitation, they drove that energy straight into their chests—into a gem-like core embedded within them.
The moment the intense law energy entered the crystal-like gem, it reacted.
Organic particles fused with mechanical and metallic fragments, rapidly emerging and spreading across their bodies... covering them completely.
Forming a 120-meter-long beast mech, they released a dense, killing and destructive aura that rapidly filled the nearby space. One resembled a lion, cloaked in dark black and red, while the other took the form of a hawk-like beast mech. In this form, their aura increased tenfold, almost rivaling a middle-tier Genesis Law compression, despite their barely near–Genesis Law Realm power level.
It was a massive increase in strength, one that stunned the being they called Bell. As their partner, he had never known they possessed such a treasure capable of boosting their power to this extent.
He couldn’t help but curse. "Damn old lion and hawk... how dare you hide something this good from me... damn it, and you still dare curse me?! Fine... just you wait. After we settle these human bitches... I’ll settle the score with you..."
"Hehe, old fool. Bell, focus on your fight. Let us deal with this human fleet, then we’ll come support you... hold on," ...said Old Lion, not bothering to engage with Bell’s complaints or pay any mind to what he was ranting about doing later..
After all, behind them stood the Alchemy Association. This treasure that enhanced their strength came from them—a specialized alchemy-mechanical product created for situations like this. Even for him, it was his first time using it.
And though this strength was borrowed, as it coursed through his body, he couldn’t help but feel addicted to it...
After all, it was something he knew he could never attain naturally. His potential had already reached its limit—restricted by his impure bloodline and the place he came from.
Pushing these thoughts aside, he focused on the incoming attack that was already closing in on him and Hawk.
"Let’s deal with this fast, and then the human fleet, Brother Hawk..."
"Let’s deal with this fast, and then the human fleet, Brother Hawk..."
Hawk manipulated the alchemy mech and nodded. "As you say, Brother Lion."
Both quickly controlled their mechs and pushed their origin cores to the limit, pumping out their origin mana and channeling it into the alchemy constructs. The mechs opened their mouths—
A ball of highly destructive dark energy began to form, carrying properties of the void itself. Space around them visibly warped, turning darker, with thin, hair-like cracks constantly appearing and healing.
The two attacks condensed rapidly, and beams of dark, destructive energy shot forward toward the incoming blade energy attack. Both of them could feel it—the enemy strike was even more destructive than either of their individual attacks.
A faint sense of dread and death crept into their minds.
and they felt a hint of dread and death.
BOOOOOM!
As the three attacks collided, a massive shockwave spread throughout the nearby space. Under the force of these destructive energies—
"Ughhh!" groaned Lion and Hawk as both were pushed back, crashing into one of the ships behind them from the aftereffects of the clash.
Even their alchemy mechs were slightly damaged, though they quickly began to heal by pulling in mana from the surroundings. However, it was far less efficient, as the ambient mana had turned chaotic due to the battle.
Kael, who had expanded his divine sense to cover almost the entire system, was already aware of the conversation between the three opponents, transmitted through their communication channels—something he had easily infiltrated.
Despite that, he wasn’t bothered. Not even a bit.
If anything, he was intrigued.
Specifically by that alchemy mech, which boosted the strength of the two by four minor realms, raising their power to a fairly high level. Though at his level, the power of laws and their comprehension mattered the most—the stronger the compression of their understood laws, the greater their control, and thus the greater power they could wield.
His opponents had indeed become stronger... but that was only in a physical sense, along with a slight increase in their control over ambient mana. That was all.
Disappearing from his position in an instant, Kael appeared directly above the stunned Bell and struck down with his dark blade-like legs, sending him spiraling toward the Hegemony battle fortress, which had just launched a massive destructive beam attack.
Caught off guard, Bell was sent flying straight into the attack of his own forces. An explosion erupted, instantly engulfing him.
His status? Unknown—whether alive or dead would only be clear once the explosion settled.
Unknown—whether alive or dead would only be clear once the explosion settled.
Kael didn’t stop there. He immediately followed up with another round of attacks—this time targeting both the lion and the hawk at once.
He appeared silently behind Hawk, who had no idea of his presence. Though his mind screamed of danger, he couldn’t locate its source.
Controlling the dark blades, Kael grabbed hold of the two wings of the hawk-like mech, planting one leg firmly against it—and tore them apart.
The wings were ripped off and hurled toward the still-recovering lion mech, which was struck once again and sent tumbling across the hull of a destroyer, further damaging it.
Kael then kicked the falcon mech—now screaming—sending it hurtling toward a nearby exploding arc of the sun.
At the same time, he fired an energy blast from his back-mounted hyper cannon toward the lion, triggering another explosion that bloomed like a miniature sun, engulfing and consuming it.
All of this happened within mere seconds. it was so fast.
That no one was able to react.
A few moments before this happened... Pact had already arrived at his station on the brigade ship and passed down a few orders.
"Give me the status of our battleships and battlecruisers. How many do we still have, and how many have suffered setbacks and are now useless?"
"Commander... we now have about 300 battleships and roughly the same number of battlecruisers remaining... down from our initial 350 and 400..."
"Damn it! How did we lose so many in just a couple of minutes? This doesn’t make any sense at all!"
"It’s like this, Commander... our formations were chaotic, and the shields around each ship were down. We had no time to activate them or regroup into proper formation. The humans came prepared and fully charged..."
"On top of that, they specifically targeted our main ships, ignoring the frigates and destroyer-class vessels. For the most part, they didn’t even touch them..."
"The losses, though heavy, happened in pure chaos..."
"Fuck!" Pact cursed in anger at once.
