Legacy of the Void Fleet

Chapter 386 386: Ch

Chapter 386 386: Ch

Pacts, who was the commander of the Dimensional Hegemony, also known as the Supreme Leader of the Hegemony, was currently brimming with excitement as he walked into the deeper layers of the battle fortress Star Exterminator…

He was on his way to report his success so far to his masters, while also asking for additional resources and rewards…

And just as he entered a secured room—where he could contact and reach out to his masters—the fortress trembled…

So much so that he lost his footing and almost fell to the floor!!

"What the hell?" he reacted, not knowing what was going on… and before he could investigate or do anything, the battle fortress alarms began to ring loudly… stunning him!!

For a moment, he felt like he was hallucinating, only for that thought to be wiped away by the central AI of the battle fortress—

"Come on, Commander Pacts! The whole legion is under attack by a Void Fleet—4th Battle Group!! They have taken advantage of their sudden appearance and have already dealt severe damage to our fleet, reducing combat capability by at least 12 percent…"

"Say what???" Pacts reacted in shock, but he quickly forced himself to calm down!!

"Give me reports, quick!!" he urged, wanting to understand the full situation before making a move…

While a 12 percent loss in strength was significant, compared to the numbers he had—and even facing the 4th Battle Fleet of the Void Humans—he still felt he could handle them…

But he couldn't afford to act rashly without knowing the full state of the battlefield… because if he did, it could easily turn into a disaster for him…

"As you command commander Pacts!!"

The Star Exterminator quickly produced a holographic map of the battlefield right then and there, showing the position of the 4th Battle Fleet of the Void Humans…

It could be seen that the 4th Battle Fleet had split into three segments…

One was focusing directly on the main legion…

While the other two—positioned on the left and right flanks—were rapidly eliminating the defense points installed in space around the Hegemony's forces!!

"Damn it… they've already chewed through most of our defense points, and what's left is basically useless!! It's like they already had information… they targeted them the moment they entered the system!!" Pacts cursed!!

Knowing there might be an insider did not sit well with him at all… who knew what those lurking in the shadows could be plotting against him…

"Exterminator… first, go and awaken those in the Genesis Law Realms. Tell them to search the entire legion… there could be an enemy among us!!"

He couldn't push aside these thoughts, and could only make this decision for now…

"As you command, Commander." The AI nodded before continuing, "What should we do about the battlefront, Commander? Our losses are increasing…"

also taking a fair amount of damage. Our shield integrity is already down to 79 percent!!"

"And I can see through my sensors that the Void Human flagship is flaring with a vast amount of destructive energy… it could launch an attack at any moment…"

While manipulating the battlefield map, Exterminator zoomed in and pointed ahead—

"And from the look of it… we are directly within their range of attack!! If nothing is done quickly, Commander, my shield strength could drop below 30 percent… or even more…"

Pacts nodded, his expression turning serious.

"Deploy the Octopus Defense Module in front of the battle fortress!!"

"Order the legion and the ships in front to either move behind the fortress and provide covering fire… or stay close to it, so they can retreat when necessary…"

Pacts issued the commands rapidly, fully aware of the urgency of the situation. He knew he couldn't allow the battle fortress's shield strength to drop so low right at the start of the battle…

Because to win this battle, he would have to rely heavily on the battle fortress… and if it were damaged—or worse, destroyed—it would cost him the entire battle. And that could not be allowed…

"Yes, Commander." Exterminator nodded quickly and began manipulating the fortress, while at the same time passing orders to the rest of the fleet…

From an internal bay of the fortress, dozens of octopus-shaped mechanical beasts quickly emerged… each at least a kilometer long…

They rapidly spread out and formed a blue energy shield in front of the battle fortress—and over the nearby main battleships…

This formation began to carve a path forward as the battle fortress pushed ahead… while other vessels slowly moved to flank it from the left and right…

Meanwhile, ships that were heavily damaged—or whose shields were barely holding—moved behind the fortress, attempting to dock within it for emergency repairs…

But would Kael give them that kind of time? No… there was no way in hell he would allow that.

And indeed, his flanking forces—having already destroyed their initial targets—locked onto these retreating vessels and fired their already charged main weapons without even his order as well.

The attacks struck their targets dead on—

And red suns rose in space, consuming entire ships at once… those whose shields had already been weakened fell almost instantly…

While others barely withstood the first barrage. But just as they began to sigh in relief and prepared to withdraw into cover… another wave of attacks rushed toward them.

All they could do was watch in horror… or try to neutralise the incoming fire—only to fail. Energy beams and kinetic strikes slammed into their hulls. Followed by multiple explosions that rapidly spread across the upper sections of the ships.

Armour plating was torn apart or melted… internal hull structures were breached across multiple vessels.

Some had their flight systems destroyed… losing power or the ability to move. And in that state… they became nothing more than sitting ducks… waiting to be slaughtered…

And all they could do was wait for the enemy attack, or for their legion to support them. But who would dare to come to their aid? Most of the ships were already near the protective bounds of the fortress and didn't dare move out for their support… their supposed comrades…

And just as another round of secondary fire was about to fall on these ships—

"Hmph."

A voice echoed.

Then, a shield rose around the ships, protecting them from the incoming barrage of the 4th battle fleet.

Energy rounds and kinetic slugs blasted against the barrier. While the impacts caused the shield to crack, they ultimately were not able to destroy it or pass through to obliterate their targets.

Kael, watching this, narrowed his eyes. He felt the energy of Law—pure and potent—within that blue shield. It looked like Pacts, or whatever the name of the man leading this pirate legion was, had already begun sending his Gene Law Realm experts.

"Well, no worries... I'll go and flex my muscles as well. Crown, I leave the follow-up to you! Remember, stick to the plan and there shouldn't be any problems. I'll go take care of those three Gene Law Realm beings at once!"

Not even waiting for Crown to reply, Kael pressed the red button. His command seat dropped quickly, entering the hold of his mech: the Dark Blade.

Crown had just parted her lips and was about to speak, but seeing her master vanish from the command bridge like a lightning bolt, she froze. Question marks seemed to pop up over her head.

He really— sigh.

Shaking it off, she ignored everything else and quickly took over command of the battle group.

"Left flank, right flank—push toward the enemy slowly. Keep targeting their smaller-class ships and thin their numbers as planned.

Both fighter squadrons and mech squadrons—stay in position, ready for deployment at any moment.

Battlecruisers and battleships—charge your main and secondary cannons at once. Target those mechanical octopus shields."

And just like that, Crown followed the plan Kael had already laid out. Under her command, they began to move, executing coordinated attacks as ordered.

While she was smoothly maneuvering the fleet and coordinating a unified attack, Kael—along with his trusty mech, the Dark Blade—had already exited the flagship. Like a bolt of lightning, he rushed toward the location where the Hegemony's Genesis Law Realm being was stationed.

Kael struck without hesitation.

With a single downward swipe, he tore apart the law shield generated by the Genesis Law Realm being as if it were tofu.

Hidden within the folds of space, the Genesis Law Realm expert was stunned—fear creeping in—as his shield, formed from mana fused with law energy, was destroyed so effortlessly.

Kael didn't stop.

After shattering the shield, he made quick work of a few sitting ducks in his path before locking onto the exact position where the being was concealed.

He gave him no time to react.

Manipulating the Dark Blade, Kael unleashed a massive slash into space itself—cutting through millions of spatial layers—and struck the dumbfounded enemy directly, leaving him completely unguarded.

"What the hell—?!"

The being crashed out of his hiding spot, his body trembling as he suffered a direct injury. At the same time, a boiling anger surged within him—yet beneath it, there was unmistakable fear toward the man behind that terrifying mech.
