Chapter 14
Chapter 14
**"The Road"**
Nathan was driving, and Lina and Sam were sitting in the back seat. Both were wet, dirty, but mysteriously happy.
– What on earth made you go out in the rain? – Nathan asked, as if he was suspecting something.
– We just... – Samael began to explain, but the girl interrupted him.
– I wanted to stand in the rain. As a mortal, I think I can allow myself such small desires.
– Hmm... And how was it? Did you like it?
– At first not really... But then I got into it, – Lina smiled mysteriously, looking at Sam.
In his gaze there was still passion, and Lina felt her legs weaken from sweet anticipation. Her body still craved more. A vibrant, tumultuous continuation...
– Your clothes were left in the hospital, – Sam said, as if by accident brushing against the girl’s knee.
That barely noticeable touch made her skin prickle.
– We don’t have time to go to a store, so you’ll have to sit like this for now, – Nathan said.
– You’ll have to endure some discomfort, – Sam replied, and his hand began to wander higher.
He slowly traced his finger up her thigh, making the girl die a few hundred times in those seconds. She gasped, and the flame from his touch ignited in her the darkest desires. When there were only a few millimeters left to the coveted wet spot, Nathan playfully smiled and withdrew his hand.
If it weren’t for Nathan, Lina would have definitely said something to that dark fool. But now only a disappointed sigh escaped her lips.
The road was long. Almost all the time it was raining. It either intensified, reSambling a furious waterfall, or barely drizzled. Nathan turned on some calm music. The landscapes changed one after another, merging into a solid gray-green line...
* * *
Waking up, the girl didn’t understand where she was. After everything that had happened, her head flat out refused to function. She looked around.
It was dark, but even in this darkness, the outlines of soft car seats could be distinguished. Lina was lying in the back seat, and beneath her head was Sam's jacket. Her clothes were completely dry, and there was a shoelace, who knows where it came from, holding her shirt together.
The girl clearly remembered the long drive. The engine was completely silent, and the monotonous sound of raindrops hitting the car at speed was lulling. She also remembered Sam. Tired from the ride, she had rested her head on his shoulder.
Then the car wound along a winding highway through some mountains... That's where her memories ended, which meant she had then fallen into oblivion.
But when Sam got out of the car and laid her down on the seat? That she didn’t remember...
The digital clock in the car showed eleven o’clock at night.
Struggling to lift herself up, Lina peeked out the window. Dark, around were silent trees and ringing silence. Ahead in the headlights the road was visible, while behind the car stood Sam and Nathan. Sam was smoking and quietly talking about something with Nathan.
So now she could stop worrying – the guides were in place, which meant everything was okay.
After a few minutes, Sam stubbed out his cigarette and, noticing that Lina was awake, opened the door.
– Did you sleep well?
– More likely no than yes, – the girl replied. – I feel broken...
– Well, we have bad news.
– Really? What?
– We ran out of gas in the middle of the mountains. Nathaniel didn’t think to refuel the car.
– It’s not me who didn’t think, it’s you who forgot to say you hadn’t refueled it in a long time, – Nathan replied.
– So what now? – Lina asked, shifting her gaze from one man to another.
– It’s still unknown, we can’t call a tow truck because there’s no signal, and walking to the nearest settlement in the middle of the night is madness, – Sam concluded.
– We can gather firewood. It seems it hasn’t rained here, so I think there will be enough dry branches. We’ll light a fire so you don’t freeze and wait for morning. Maybe someone will come down the road and help us, – Nathan suggested.
– A dubious plan, – Sam said tersely. – But the only one in this situation.
– Fine, I suggest we split up and start gathering firewood, I think there are two flashlights in the trunk, – Nathan rummaged in the car and indeed pulled out two small flashlights.
He kept one for himself and handed the other to Sam.
– If you want, you can stay in the car; we'll manage ourselves, – said Sam.
– No, I need to stretch my legs, – the girl said enthusiastically.
The prospect of wandering through the woods at night in the company of a sexy man seemed far more appealing to her than waiting alone inside a cold car.
– Okay, just don’t get lost; let’s meet at the spot in half an hour, – Nathan said and, illuminating the path with the flashlight, plunged into the thick underbrush.
– Shall we? – Sam asked, looking at Lina.
– Uh-huh, – the girl smiled and, tying the hospital shirt once again so that it covered everything that needed to be hidden, climbed out of the car.
Branches crunched underfoot, and it was surprisingly warm. The sky was covered with a myriad of stars, and the full moon glowed, illuminating the road.
– I’ve been curious about something for a while, – Sam started the conversation, leisurely gathering firewood.
– Oh? What exactly?
– Knowing how you were raised, in those Spartan conditions... You don’t reSamble a reclusive, frightened girl seeing the world for the first time at all. What’s your secret?
– A rich imagination, – Lina smiled, picking up several twigs from the ground. – And also books. I read a lot; it was my only solace. Sometimes I wonder why the abbess didn’t forbid reading.
– Obviously, she just didn’t keep up with the trends of modern literature, – the man smirked.
– It’s quite possible, many books describe the modern world in great detail and all its advantages.
– Advantages? What are you talking about?
– Everything... About the internet, technology, civilization, various temptations of the modern world.
– Temptations of the modern world? The word temptation sounds very mysterious coming from your lips, Lina, – Sam rasped.
– What do you think, in the order, are all saints? Believe me, I’ve seen more than once how they paired off with each other while no one suspected it. Men with women, women with women, men with men. Their black outfits only hide all the perversions. Of course, if the abbess found out, she would expel them without a second thought, but who would confess to that.
– Probably nobody, – Sam looked at Lina with a darkened gaze, and she realized that all this conversation only fueled their repressed desires.
– It seems we have enough firewood? – the girl showed the bundle in her hands. – Or should we gather more?
– I think we should gather more, – the man replied, although he himself already had a decent amount of branches. – Well, and you? What did you feel when you were watching them?
The conversation had turned to quite candid topics. Lina wasn’t sure whether to confess her own perversion, but Sam was looking at her with such an enticing gaze that she dared.
– At first, it caused disgust and confusion. But as I grew older, I felt excitement. Sometimes I masturbated. Not often, just to relieve tension.
– Lina, – Sam exhaled heavily and stopped as if petrified.
Obviously, her confession had struck him deeply.
The man dropped the firewood to the ground, doing the same with Lina’s bundle. After that, he extinguished the flashlight. Only the moon remained a silent witness, illuminating their bodies.
The girl froze, eagerly watching Sam's every move. She knew she was about to get what she had long dreamed of. Overwhelmed with feelings, Lina began to tremble like a leaf on a tree. Her breathing quickened, and her legs became weak with sweet anticipation.
