Chapter 56: SHOPPING
Chapter 56: SHOPPING
As Silas walked out of the dining hall, a smile was on his face.
He had chosen the place with the most people for one reason: to test his new skill.
I wonder how rich I will be by this time tomorrow, he thought.
Rion, he called calmly.
"Master Silas," Rion replied.
How is the company going? Have you checked the Manager’s report? He asked.
"Yes. I suggest you check for yourself," Rion replied, displaying a screen in front of Silas.
"Wait, all of these companies are trying to buy shares in our company?" He asked aloud.
His emotions exploded so fast that he did not account for the maid following him.
He turned to the maid, who was still as calm as ever.
Silas faced forward again and looked at the screen.
The companies were all big ones whose reach extended far beyond the Orion Sector.
The Thornwood Pharmaceutical industry, for example, was one of the biggest in the human empire, with enough power to go against a level 3 clan in the empire.
And they were not the only ones. Silas could make out at least 5 other industries with as much power on the list.
What caused such attention from them? Silas could not help but ask Rion.
"Your identity as Elite tier 3 Researcher has been revealed in the Order of Truth. My guess is that they are trying to befriend a potential Pathfinder," Rion replied.
Silas thought about it and nodded. Otherwise, there was no real reason why they would care about a company as small as theirs.
As for how they knew he was the leader of Sovereign Garden, Silas was anything but surprised.
These were people who were at the top of the human empire. Getting information on the leader of a backwater company was anything but hard.
"This elevator leads to your room, sir," the maid suddenly called out.
Silas nodded before stopping in front of the doors.
The doors slid open with a soft chime and Silas stepped in.
"Thank you," he said calmly to the maid.
The maid bowed in response.
The doors chimed open again, revealing the wide bedroom.
The room was wide. Golden motes of light lingered in the air, and a king sized bed rested against the wall.
A wardrobe was placed beside the bed.
"Wait, what about my luggage?" Silas suddenly remembered that he had not even brought his bag from the plane earlier.
Curiously, he walked to the wardrobe and opened it.
He saw his clothes, neatly arranged there.
His bag was set at the bottom.
"Well, seems like they took care of it," he muttered.
He looked at the door in the wall near the wardrobe.
"I should take a bath," he whispered.
He entered the bathroom, took his bath, and slipped into his pyjamas.
Jumping into the bed, he heaved a huge sigh of relief.
"Rion, send me to the Nexus Dimension," he said after a few moments of rest.
His body flickered out of the room and he appeared in the bustling streets of the Nexus Dimension.
"Rion, locate Thornwood’s closest branch," he said.
He needed to stock up on things that could help him in the fight.
Thinking of Han, fear began to creep into his mind as he thought of what could happen to the others if they encountered a horror like that.
But the information he got from the files showed that Han was the only one who had used that power successfully.
"That is about 30 minutes away. You can take a taxi there," Rion replied.
"Yeah, flag one for me," Silas replied with a sigh.
Soon, a drifter stopped in front of him.
The car hovered above the floor, releasing calm and gentle hums.
Silas entered without a word and the drifter shot forward.
The surroundings seemed to blur as they tore through the streets.
In less than 5 minutes, it stopped in front of a huge complex.
Silas got out and transferred the fare.
The drifter zoomed off immediately after.
Silas looked at the complex, a huge green citadel.
Several drifters came in and left.
The number of people entering was enough to overcrowd any normal store, but this was Thornwood Pharmaceutical industry.
Silas walked through the gate, nodding at the guard stationed there.
As he entered the main building, the atmosphere shifted.
It was like he had just entered another world.
He could not describe the change. He only knew he felt calmer and more clear headed.
Is this the effect of a plant? Silas wondered as he walked further in.
He brushed past several customers until he reached the shelf.
"Good day, sir, how may I help you?" The clerk asked with a sweet voice that almost made Silas crack.
"A few potions for enhancement," Silas said.
The lady nodded, then began to walk towards a different section, making sure Silas was following her.
"Here, sir," she stretched out her palm. "What are your requirements?"
Silas thought for a moment.
"Do you have transcension potions?" He asked.
The lady nodded.
"But the price and quantity may vary depending on the element you want."
Silas thought for a while before he spoke again.
"What about the light element?" He asked.
The lady went silent for a while as she checked through her AI.
"Each light potion is a hundred million credits," she replied.
Silas looked at her calmly.
But his mind was already in chaos.
Just when I thought I was rich, he thought, almost tearing up.
"What about the flame element?" He asked.
"50 million credits," she replied directly.
"Hmm."
The lady looked at him with a gentle gaze that made Silas feel awkward.
"Okay, give me one light and four flames," he said.
"That is three hundred million credits," the lady replied.
Silas nodded as he transferred the amount.
His heart beat faster as he realized he had just spent more than fifty percent of the money Sebastian had given him.
"No wonder those at the top still seek more money. They need more the higher they go."
