INTERSTELLAR ERA: MY MIND IS A LIBRARY

Chapter 55: DISTRIBUTION

Chapter 55: DISTRIBUTION

The plane docked on a pad atop the skyscraper.

Silas and his squad members alighted calmly.

Michael on the other hand was all smiles.

After finally beating Silas in the last game, he could not help but be happy.

But his smile froze as he saw the people in front of him.

A butler, calm and regal. He felt more like royalty than servant.

Cream, combed hair that reached the back of his neck, and dim green eyes.

Behind him were rows of maids, bowing with their heads completely dipped low.

"Welcome, sirs," the butler said, bowing his head with one hand on his chest and his leg sliding backwards. "I am Aiden, the head butler for Governor Max’s penthouse."

Silas smiled. "So he knows how to enjoy himself too," he said as he walked closer to the butler.

"This way, please," Aiden gestured, parting for Silas to see the elevator doors.

The group walked towards the doors, the maids parting for them as they neared.

The doors chimed, then slid open for them to enter.

Silas looked back at the group as the elevator doors closed.

They descended steadily.

"So, Michael, what’s your skill?" Silas could not help but ask curiously.

Michael looked at him, then shook his head.

"I can’t tell you that, it’s my secret," Michael replied with a calm smile as he patted Silas on the shoulder.

Silas winced from the force of the hit.

After numerous games together, Silas had grown somewhat close to Michael.

"Oh, how special can it be?" Silas asked.

Michael only smiled, not bothering to dive deeper into the topic.

Silas clicked his tongue at Michael’s attitude.

The elevator doors opened at the same instant, revealing the beautifully decorated sitting room.

The place was painted white, with golden linings at the edges.

A chandelier hung at the top, showering the place in silvery light that gave off a calm feeling.

The furniture was made from fine wood that had a sweet, woody scent.

They were draped in golden silks.

"Would you like to eat now?" Aiden’s calm voice came from the elevator doors, causing everyone to turn back.

Aiden looked at them calmly.

"Now that I think about it, I haven’t eaten anything for two days," Silas murmured to himself without shame.

"Yes, where is the dining hall?" He asked.

Aiden looked back at one of the maids.

The maid bowed and stepped forward with an alluring gait.

"I will show you there," the maid said.

Silas nodded, following behind the maid.

The rest followed too, both the members and the maids.

Billie, however, did not follow. She turned to look at Aiden, who also waited, for a moment.

Then, as she noticed all footsteps had faded and the others had left, she relaxed her nerves.

"Uncle Aiden, so you were here," she said, her cold eyes softening as she met his.

Aiden smiled, walking forward to tap Billie on her shoulder.

"Don’t be a crybaby. Governor Max brought me here due to some issues," Aiden explained.

Although she did not agree fully, Billie still nodded at Aiden’s words before she walked towards the dining hall.

She felt she could locate it based on the direction the others had gone earlier.

Aiden’s gaze lingered on her retreating frame with a smile, then he walked away.

In the dining hall, everyone ate calmly, without noise.

Billie sat on the left side of Silas, while Lilura sat on the right.

"So, Lilura, are you with the information we got from that Crimson Fang base?" Silas said, wiping his mouth with a napkin.

Lilura nodded calmly as a stack of papers appeared in her palm.

"I have mapped all the key places that we need to attack," she added as she handed the stack to Silas.

Silas read the map, his eyes widening in fascination.

She is really capable, he could not help but admit after he read through what she had presented.

Silas could even say that the plan was flawless.

"So, I would share the roles now," Silas said. "But before that, you should all read this too."

He passed it to Billie while he continued with his food.

In under 30 minutes, everyone there already had the full gist of the plan.

"So, Mira," Silas pointed to the always quiet lady in the team.

"You would be responsible for killing the target in plan B."

Plan B only involved killing one of their brokers at the far end of the planet.

There was no one better suited for it than the assassin in the group.

Mira nodded slowly, not offering any more words.

"Miller and Billie, both of you are in charge of the warehouse in this city," Silas said, turning to Billie, then Miller.

Miller met Silas’s gaze with a cold look.

Silas shook his head at this. He is annoyed I didn’t spar with him, he thought.

He did not dwell on it. He faced Michael and Lilura.

"Michael, you are to track their hidden master."

Silas’s voice went up slightly to emphasize the word master.

All through their investigation, the master of the organization had remained hidden.

Michael nodded. "It should be plausible with enough time," he said, stroking his chin.

Silas nodded.

"Lilura, I am not sure of your combat power, but you should be able to defend Michael for a while, right?" Silas asked.

"Yes," Lilura quickly said, jumping from her seat.

"What was that for?" Silas asked with furrowed brows.

Lilura looked at him with an innocent face. "I was just too excited."

Silas looked at her one last time before he continued with the distribution.

"I would go to this warehouse then," Silas said, pointing at one of the places shown in the map.

Seeing the place, even Mira could not help but frown.

"That’s the second largest warehouse. Can you handle it alone?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, don’t worry," Silas waved it off.

"Since this is settled, we move out by dawn tomorrow."

Silas said those words calmly, took a napkin from the table, cleaned his mouth, and walked out.

A maid followed behind quickly.
