Chapter 358: Taking Revenge
Chapter 358: Taking Revenge
Kate did not answer, she had no any intention of saying anything to this person. Even though she was not sure about the details of this person, she believed Michael.
Any possibility of Michael framing this guy, not even for a moment did that thought appear in her mind. The relationship between the two of them, it was to the extent that she trusted Michael fully.
That was especially considering what Michael had done for her. That was why, immediately after Michael told her about who might be involved with the death of her father, she trusted him immediately.
She did not ask for any type of evidence, as she believed in Michael’s character, believing that there was no way that Michael would lie to her about something like this.
Therefore, when she was facing Bob, she had no intention of having a conversation with him. She felt, if she talked to him about why he had done it or why he should not have done it, it would all be useless.
Instead of that, she should just vent anger on him, to avenge her father. While there was still a possibility of him being brought back to life in the future, at least, for now, she should vent the frustrations that she had endured over the years.
Ask for the possibility of leaving this guy alive because of the chance that existed for her father to be brought back to life, not a chance. If there was someone who was willing to bring him back to life after she killed him, then no problem.
Immediately after Kate arrived in front of him. She looked at him, not pitying him despite how wretched he looked.
Bob was on the floor near the wall, his broken knee wrapped in a plaster. Facing Kate’s gaze, he tried to shift away, but his leg barely worked and pain slowed him down.
Kate reached him and grabbed him by the front of his shirt. She lifted him slightly and slammed him into the wall. The impact shook his body and knocked the air from his lungs.
Before he could recover, she struck him once on the side of the head with a short, heavy blow. His legs gave out and he dropped hard to the floor, his injured knee twisting as he fell.
Aaargh!
Bob groaned in pain, holding his leg. He tried to crawl away, dragging himself across the floor. Kate followed and kicked him in the ribs. The blow rolled him onto his side, and he coughed sharply, struggling to breathe.
Blood mixed with spit came from his mouth as he tried to pull himself farther away. His movements were slow and weak, made worse by the damaged knee.
Kate stepped in again and hit him across the body, forcing him back down each time he tried to rise. Bob kept trying to move, confused and terrified, but he could not understand why any of this was happening.
At this moment, so many thoughts were going through his mind, but he could not figure out why he was being treated like this.
It was clear that this young lady had hatred was him. It was no wonder that she was ’not’ holding back with every strike that she landed on him.
At this point, Bob was in extreme agony, with the pain coming from the areas that Kate had attacked him, and the knee that was previously broken by Michael.
The only explanation that Bob could come up with regarding this situation was that, Michael held hatred towards the Santos family.
It was because of this that he had decided to target him, because he was close to Newton. As for this lady, maybe she was Michael’s friend? Because she heard about what had happened to Michael’s parents, she hated him?
But that did not make any sense. For those two to be killed, he had made sure that he had made enough arrangements, so that it would not be that easy to be able to trace it back to him.
In fact, he had already made some arrangements so that, if someone really thought of the possibility that the death of Zachary and Cynthia was deliberately done, they would end up finding someone else.
The person that they would find was none other than Aiden, the very person who he had sent, and the guy ended up paying some gangsters to carry out a bank heist at the appropriate moment.
Even though he was part of the Blood Reapers syndicate, he had been working for the Santos family. But as expected, with the Santos family being the one behind the silent order syndicate, their hands were not clean either.
At times, if someone was against them, the Santos family would not hesitate to make them disappear.
Even though they tried to create a line between the Santos family and the silent order syndicate, some of the members of the Santos family were inevitably involved in the criminal activities of the syndicate.
So, could it be that at some point, while working for the Santos family, he had done something to this lady? And because Michael had some kind of backing, he had figured that out?
Otherwise, Bob could not understand why this lady had so much hatred towards him, and she obviously wanted to kill him.
Additionally, there was another thing that shocked him. That was, this lady was extremely strong. She was stronger than an ordinary person. So, the only explanation that he could get was the fact that this lady was a mutant.
And as he thought about that, thinking about the guy who had brought him here, and this lady, and the probability that Michael might also be a mutant, he felt hopeless.
He did not even try to beg, to see if he could be forgiven. Just by looking into the cold eyes that were looking back at him coldly, as a veteran who had been on the battlefield many times, he understood that he had no way out.
While Bob was still trying to understand what was happening, Kate did not stop. She just continued venting her anger and frustrations, but she did not do it with her full strength.
Even though it had not been long since she awakened her ability through the mutation serum, her strength had already gone beyond what an ordinary human could dream of.
She believed that she was already above some of the mutants that received physical enhancement, but of a lower grade.
If she really decided to use her full strength when dealing with this guy, he would have already become a corpse by now.
So, for quite a few minutes, she continued venting her anger, by continuously striking at Bob. Several of his bones were broken, and the guy screamed in pain.
He fainted on quite a number of occasions, but it was the very same pain that made him lose his consciousness that woke him up.
Michael observed from the side, not much of a reaction on his face. To him, it was not strange that Kate would be this brutal when dealing with someone like Bob.
If he was the one that was dealing with him, maybe, he might have been even more brutal than she is. And judging by the way that she was doing it, it was clear that she had never tortured someone before.
That was why she was using some straightforward methods such as kicking and breaking some of the bones.
If it was Michael, he might have done some small things that caused tremendous pain, such as dealing with those nails, from both the fingers and toes.
Kate eventually pulled Bob slightly off the ground again and slammed him back down. His head hit the floor, and his body went still for a moment before shaking again.
Bob’s strength faded. His breathing became uneven. He tried one last time to drag himself away, but his injured leg no longer supported him, and he collapsed fully onto the floor.
Kate crouched beside him and grabbed him by the neck. Bob weakly tried to push her hands away, but he had no strength left. She tightened her grip.
Even though she felt disgusted by the cracking sound that came as she strengthened her grip, she still went through with it.
It was as if Bob’s body was injected with strength from nowhere, as the guy immediately began thrashing around, trying to fight against the pressure.
He tried using his hands to strip away Kate’s hand that was holding onto his neck, but both of his hands had already been broken by Kate, leaving him helpless.
So, basically, Bob was just squirming around, with the midsection of his body being the only part that was capable of moving. But that was not helping at all.
Eventually, the pressure exceeded what he could handle, and Bob’s body finally went limp, as he took his last breath.
Kate released him and stood up. The room fell silent. She looked down at him for a moment, then turned and walked out without looking back.
She went and stood in front of Michael, looking at him. She was a little hesitant to speak, but Michael simply stretched his hands, embracing her.
Even though Kate had been acting tough all this time, and had actually killed quite a number of gangsters back in Drenn city, this was different.
At that time, those that she killed, they had weapons and intended to attack her or other police officers. And during the time that Michael was dealing with the shadow assembly gang, she had also killed a few people.
But now, she had acted so ruthlessly in front of Michael. Even though she was driven by anger, she was afraid that Michael would judge her.
Though, his actions proved her wrong, making her feel relieved and appreciated at the same time.
Just as Michael was about to say something to Kate, he suddenly received a notification from Onyx, telling him that he had a visitor.
