Carter turned back to the Mother Terror. He grabbed her throat and lifted her up. His red aura became even thicker than before.
"Why?" He said.
"Why what?" The Mother coughed. "Why we killed her parents? Why we infiltrated the survivors? Why we are what we are?"
Carter clenched her neck tighter.
The Terror trembled.
"It’s just survival. You die and we live. You live and we die." The Mother uttered her last words.
"Die then."
Carter crushed the Mother into pieces and punched a hole out of her stomach. His punch created a wind blast going through the hole.
The Mother flopped to the ground motionless.
His Raven Armor and red aura disappeared. The white smoke enveloped him briefly.
"Are you alright, Zen?" Neros approached him.
Carter shook his head. "They’re trying to infiltrate us now. It will be difficult to find who from who."
"But we got you, aren’t we?" Neros tried to form a smile.
"I won’t always be around, Neros."

Carter squatted down and ’cleansed’ the two Terrors.

Oliphim returned with news, "The aircraft is here. We can begin transport the survivors now."
"Should we conduct another examination to make sure there are no Skinwalkers?" Neros said.
Carter nodded, "I’ll be standing at the gate. Let them through one by one."
"Yes, sir."
The white swordsman stood there. His back was extremely lonely. It was as if the sake of the entire world was weighing on him.
It’s the truth.
Survivor walked past him one by one. They nodded at him, thanked him, and said wonderful thing about him. The expression of the Knight did not change. Not after what had happened.
The survivors heard about it. So they understood for him.
A family stopped in front of him, similar to the one he had discovered. A mother, a father, and a daughter. But they were entirely human.
The Mother stopped in front of him. She hugged him tightly.
"I know it’s hard."
Carter sighed.
’What is this woman even talking about?’
"We will forever grateful of you, sir Knight. We will always remember you. Your weight is not for nothing."
The white swordsman shared a smile. A tired smile.
"I just do what I vowed to do."
’That is enough. Come on, honey!’ The Mother returned to her family and walked away.
There was no Skinwalker anymore among them.
The last person that passed through the gate was Emily and Piper.
"Where are my Father and Mother, sir Knight?" Emily looked at Carter with her big wide eyes.
Piper could see the slight twitch around the corners of the swordsman’s eyes. He hid his emotions well. But she could still see it.
Carter squatted down and gently adjusted Emily’s hairline. "They’re in a better place now, Emily. They won’t be with you no more."
"But... But..." The girl teared up. "They were just here!"
"You have to be strong, Emily. You must not allow the world to crush you. Always remember that."
Emily covered her eyes and ran away with the survivors. "I hate you, sir Knight!"
"She didn’t mean that." Piper said.
"I know."
Asena was liberated. The Terrors were wiped clean. But the Gold Stream was still around and the Terrors could return at any moment. So the new President of the East Continent didn’t allow citizens to live there yet.
As for Carter, he continued on his quest of eradicating the Terrors. The next location was Barelo.
Before he left, Carter checked the new item he had received from the Skin System, the Champion Seed.
[Eldritch Knight Champion Seed]: This seed shall grant a skin within the Skinline the ability to reach Champion Rank.
’Champion-Rank? Is this the next rank after Elite? But why do I need a seed?’

The Champion Seed appeared in Carter’s hand. It was a pulsing glowing orb of gold and black. Its color shifted between the two.
Carter was still equipping the Eldritch Knight. He could feel that the seed was calling to him.
’Here goes nothing.’
Carter swallowed the Champion Seed.

Something changed within Carter. Something ancient and unpredictable. This skin wasn’t just an ordinary object of power anymore. It felt alive. It felt tangible.
It had received its own destiny that Carter needed to fulfill.
’Champion Destiny... The path to further advancement... I can see it...’
Carter left for Barelo a few days later. Carter was still accompanied by the Invokers and the Priests as last time.
"The same as before?" Neros said.
Carter nodded, "See you down there."
The white swordsman jumped down from the aircraft. He eradicated the Terrors just like last time. Synchronization of Terrors had become so small now that only a good chunks of them would be useful. But Carter didn’t care as long as he could get his Skin Shards.
However, from an outsider’s point of view, they only saw the rage of a kind man. A man that had been pushed over his limit.
People cheered for him from everywhere around the world. People watched his every step and celebrated with every city he had cleansed. They thought that the Knight was angry. They thought that he wanted to avenge them.
And they admired him for that. An image of an unbreakable spirit and honor.
At Barelo, he met two other Skinwalkers again. It seemed like the Terrors would gain the ability similar to Terror Witch when they reached Elite level.
Carter didn’t understand why but he was sure that he would soon find out why.
