Chapter 381 - 375: Horror Doll House 23

Chapter 381 - 375: Horror Doll House 23

The overly dark eyes swept across everyone’s faces one by one, and that chilling feeling, like hair wrapping around your ankles, instantly climbed up.

The doll laughed bizarrely, its throat sounding like a broken fan, the laughter sharp and fragmented: "Die on the fourth floor, and no one will collect your body."

Josh and the others followed her into the corridor.

There weren’t many rooms on either side of the corridor, the doors pitch black, the recessed door frames like bottomless black holes, leading into the abyss.

Josh stared at the door frames, frowning slightly.

Rob leaned in and whispered to Josh: "Little Tactician, don’t you think there’s something weird about these rooms, it looks like there are words on the door frames and doors..."

Josh nodded slightly: "Yeah."

At first glance, these dark doors seemed like enormous tombstones.

Pushing the door open and walking in was like entering a lifeless grave.

The doll stopped in front of a door: "Every two people to a room, decide your roommates yourselves, but be quick, if you dawdle, you might get killed."

Josh instinctively looked at Yuze.

Receiving her gaze, Yuze raised an eyebrow, a joyful smile emerging in his eyes.

"Little sister, can I room with you?" Nearby, Wu clung to Josh’s sleeve: "It’s just the two of us girls here..."

Josh suddenly remembered there was another person in the group, she nodded: "Of course."

Yuze silently retracted his smile, his gaze sinisterly fixating on Wu.

Wu, not understanding, glanced at him, but was scared by his menacing look, quickly averting her eyes and hiding behind Josh.

This person was terrifying, he felt even more dangerous than the dolls and monsters here.

Josh and Wu entered the first room.

The others naturally had no objections either, pairing up for the rooms.

All the players’ rooms were on the same side.

Looking at them, the doll suddenly said: "Oh right, your neighbors across the way may not be very good-tempered, so don’t disturb their sleep at night~ Otherwise, if there’s any dispute, we can’t mediate."

The implication was obvious.

Josh said nothing and entered the room with Wu.

The room was simply furnished, just some basic furniture, a large bed, no windows, a ceiling light, and a small bathroom next to it.

Unlike the eerie blue-green atmosphere outside, the room’s light was dull, the walls a dusty gray-brown, like a house covered in dust for a decade, without any scratch marks but full of dust.

The bed was also covered in a layer of dust, making it impossible to sleep on.

Wu also noticed: "Why don’t I clean up first, you can sit for a bit."

Josh nodded, not refusing.

Wu lifted the bedding, finding a heap of dirt on the bed.

She frowned: "Why is there so much dirt?"

Josh didn’t speak; not only was the bed covered in dirt, but the entire room had a peculiar earthy smell.

Wu walked to the bathroom to wet a towel to wipe the table.

As she glanced up, her gaze fell into the mirror over the sink and suddenly saw a blood-covered child smiling at her in the reflection.

"Ah!!" Wu screamed, quickly tossing the cloth away, retreating out of the bathroom in shock.

"What’s wrong?" Josh approached.

Wu shivered, pointing at the mirror: "There’s... someone in the mirror!"

Josh entered the bathroom to check, but besides her own reflection, saw no one else.

She figured that even if someone checked into the fourth-floor rooms, it wouldn’t be peaceful.

She turned to Wu: "It’s okay, they’re just trying to scare you, it shouldn’t do anything for now."

Wu was on the verge of tears: "For... for now...?"

Josh thought for a moment, casually drew a talisman on paper, and handed it to her: "Hold this, they won’t dare come near you."

Wu eagerly took the talisman paper: "Thank you... thank you."

Whether it was her imagination or not, after receiving the talisman paper, a cool sensation seeped into her palms and flowed to her forehead, instantly soothing her, the fear diminishing significantly.

Josh took a glance around the bathroom.

She didn’t use a talisman to purify it, nor did she set up a barrier in the room, after all, setting up a barrier would eliminate much of the fun.

Josh returned to the room, tracing a gesture with her fingers, a flash of blue light passing before her.

As expected, the dirt on the bed, and the dust on the walls, turned out to be illusions.

She went to the bed, lifted the covers, and lay down.

Wu quickly reminded her: "It’s all dirty, very filthy..."

Josh waved it off: "Sorry, I’m too tired, going to rest first."

Wu seemed conflicted, seeing that Josh didn’t mind, she said nothing else, and sat on the other side of the bed.

As time passed, Wu rubbed her eyes sleepily, catching the sight of a doll’s head peeking from under the bed, lying down and staring at her, its face covered in blood.

"Ah!!" Wu was startled, instinctively scrambling back onto the bed, no longer caring if it was covered in dirt.

Next to her, Josh yawned: "Sleep, close your eyes and you’ll see nothing."

Wu cried: "But... but there’s someone under the bed..."

Josh nodded: "Not just under the bed, there’s someone on the bed, in the corners, on the ceiling, in the bathroom, in the toilet, everywhere, so lively."

Wu cried even harder: "Sob sob, what do we do... we won’t die here, right? Should we go find the others? Staying in one room might be better?"

Josh glanced at her: "Didn’t you hear what the front desk said? Only two people can stay in each room, and once you’re in, don’t wander out until it’s daylight."

Wu also knew her words lacked logic and persuasion, but fear compelled her to talk to distract herself, lest she keep imagining when the doll under the bed might crawl out, or if a hand might suddenly emerge from the side of the bed.

Josh yawned again, closing her eyes to rest.

Wu huddled close to her, a string in her mind stretched tightly, as if ready to snap at any moment.

The room was eerily quiet.

She could almost hear only her own anxious breathing.

Suddenly, a dripping sound came from the bathroom.

Each drip faster than the last, the sound sticky and gooey, unlike water, more like some slightly viscous liquid.

Wu was a hundred percent sure she had tightened the faucet.

And there had been no sound before, why would the faucet suddenly leak?

She swallowed nervously and nudged the person next to her: "Little sister, little sister, do you hear the water in the bathroom?"

Josh didn’t respond.

Too frightened, she nudged again: "Little sister, listen! Isn’t there water dripping from the bathroom?"

The lack of response made Wu’s heart squeeze tight, her whole body freezing up.

Her gaze shifted stiffly towards Josh, and seeing Josh’s face with her eyes closed, she suddenly breathed a sigh of relief: "Josh?"

She tentatively called her name.
