Chapter 73
Chapter 73
73. Settling Accounts
"Meng Lian should be far away by now. Let's go too."
Having devoured all the complimentary cakes, Vivian and Lilian licked their lips and prepared to leave.
But the moment they stepped out, they saw Meng Lian "chatting and laughing" with a pink-haired older sister.
"Holy crap, Vice President Tao Yao!"
Vivian saw this and immediately pulled Lilian behind a nearby potted plant. Through the greenery, she could vaguely see Tao Yao smiling as she showed something on her phone to Meng Lian. Since Meng Lian had her back to Vivian, Vivian could only guess that Meng Lian was also smiling.
After all, the scene looked just like two good friends running into each other on the street and chatting about something interesting.
Sure enough, Tao Yao then led Meng Lian into a massive private room, even more upscale than the one Vivian had booked earlier.
"Sis, do you think they're going to do private room stuff?"
Lilian stuck out her little head, looking sneaky.
"Very likely. With such a beautiful Junior Sister like Meng Lian, how could Vice President Tao Yao hold back? It's just that Vice President Tao Yao's fetish... sigh, I feel kind of bad for Junior Sister Meng Lian."
Vivian imagined some mosaic-blurred scenes, her face turning red, then pulled Lilian and fled the area.
All she could say was that Meng Lian was too dedicated. A ruthless person like that, Vivian had to respect.
……
Inside the private room, Meng Lian lay prostrate on the ground, her bottom thrust high in the air, while Tao Yao sat before her with an amused expression.
"Tao Yao, big sister, I was wrong! I won't dare do it again!"
The tables had turned. Meng Lian never imagined she would end up prostrating on the ground one day.
It all started last night when she created a throwaway account to flame Tao Yao. She thought it was foolproof, but somehow Tao Yao had managed to identify her and even accessed her chat logs with Lilian. So now she was here to corner her.
What the hell, even witches have cybersecurity issues?
Is nobody doing anything about this?
"You don't know you were wrong. You only know you're about to die."
The familiar words, but from someone else's mouth. Meng Lian wanted to cry. She swore she would never run her mouth online again.
"Waaah, Tao Yao, big sister, just tell me what you want me to do. I'll do anything as long as you forgive me."
"Oh, anything?"
Tao Yao crouched down, her fingertips lifting Meng Lian's chin. Seeing such a beautiful woman prostrating so humbly before her, honestly, Tao Yao was enjoying this.
"Tentacles are off limits! That stuff will kill people!"
Meng Lian seemed to think of something, her face turning red, leaving Tao Yao speechless.
"I didn't say anything about playing with tentacles. Sigh, get up already. The floor is dirty."
Tao Yao sat back down and looked at Meng Lian across from her, now properly seated and composed. A trace of memory flickered in her eyes.
So similar. Too similar.
"Come here. Sit next to me and let me use your lap for a while, and I'll forgive you."
Tao Yao patted the seat beside her, motioning for Meng Lian to come over.
Meng Lian hesitated. She was afraid that dozens of tentacles would suddenly appear and have their way with her.
"Seriously? I like tentacles, but that's just a personal hobby. Why would I do something like that?"
Meng Lian's thoughts were easy to read. They were written all over her face. Tao Yao looked exasperated.
Hearing this, Meng Lian laughed awkwardly and went over to sit beside her.
A peach blossom fragrance wafted over. Tao Yao rested her head on Meng Lian's rounded thigh.
The spot where Tao Yao rested was right at the boundary between stockings and skirt. Her thigh was bare, the creamy skin looking suggestive under the light. But Tao Yao didn't take the opportunity to turn and cop a feel. Instead, she looked at the beautiful woman whose face was half-hidden in shadow and slowly closed her eyes.
Even though this woman's chest wasn't as big as Meng Lian's, and her thighs weren't as comfortable as Meng Lian's, Tao Yao could never forget that person she had longed for.
"'Peach blossoms bloom young and fair, brilliant and bright'... Such a beautiful name..."
"Tao Yao, Tao Yao, look, don't my golden hair and this golden hair clip match perfectly?"
"Tao Yao, why do you never spend time with me? Why? Is the position of Student Council Vice President more important than me?"
"Tao Yao, let's break up. You ask why? Heh, there doesn't need to be a reason. But if I had to give one, your technique is terrible. I never felt anything when I was with you. I was faking it the whole time. Are you satisfied now?"
"Tao Yao... let go..."
……
"How did you find time to treat me to a meal?"
Meng Lian didn't know that right next to her, two people she recognized were having a conversation. They were Bai Wei and Zi Yan.
Zi Yan wore a massive witch hat, its wide brim hiding her expression. But the upturned corners of her mouth showed she was in a good mood.
"Nothing special. Just suddenly wanted to catch up with you."
Bai Wei smiled. Seeing this, Zi Yan paused for a moment.
She had never seen Bai Wei smile like this. It was as if, at this moment, Bai Wei had removed the mask she always wore and was smiling from the heart.
"Is that so? You block of wood, actually thinking of catching up with me? Do you need my help with something? Just say it. After all, I'm your Senior Sister. I'll do what I can."
Zi Yan removed her witch hat, revealing her exquisite features. She rested her cheek on her hand, looking at Bai Wei across from her with anticipation.
"Recently I read a manga with a plot I wanted to discuss with you."
Bai Wei gently stirred the coffee in her cup, her words carrying deeper meaning.
"Oh, what plot?"
Hearing this, Zi Yan grew interested.
"Once there was a dynasty where the emperor had no skill for governance. The court was corrupt, officials were greedy, and the people were displaced. Finally, someone raised the banner of rebellion, wanting to overthrow the court."
"Unfortunately, the rebel army was weak and was soon surrounded by government soldiers on a mountain. The court wanted to wipe out the rebels in one stroke, but the mountain terrain was complex. The rebels held the high ground, and for a time, the soldiers couldn't advance."
"But anyone could see the rebels were fighting a losing battle. Destruction was only a matter of time. Suppose you were an official in the government, and you already knew the rebels' fate, so you didn't take them seriously."
"But one day, you suddenly discovered that your colleague, who was also your best friend, was actually part of the rebel army. In that situation, what would you do?"
Bai Wei looked at Zi Yan, her eyes complex.
Zi Yan paused, thinking for a moment. "Since she's my best friend, I'd keep her secret for her. After all, you said the rebels' destruction is inevitable. Once they're wiped out, no one will know she was part of the rebellion, and she can keep her position in the government. I wouldn't lose a friend either."
Bai Wei shook her head. "Do you know how that manga told the story? You reported your friend. You gained more political resources because of it and rose rapidly through the ranks."
"Seriously, how could the plot go that way? I don't like that ending. If it were me, I wouldn't do that."
Hearing this, Zi Yan puffed up her cheeks in anger like a little pufferfish, looking quite adorable.
"I don't think that's good either, but I also don't think your approach is good."
"Huh? Why?"
Zi Yan blinked, not understanding what Bai Wei meant.
"Since you're that person's best friend, have you considered things from their perspective? If I were that person, I'd only want you to do one thing."
Bai Wei looked into Zi Yan's eyes, her gaze unwavering.
"That would be... kill me!"
