Chapter 30: Deer on a Deck
Chapter 30: Deer on a Deck
The ship took off, its engines flaring up and pushing it towards the sky. There were just two engines but many underlining machanics that was keeping the ship from spinning like a spinner. Quash didn’t know how these worked, but he will know soon enough. Because crafting main component of a ships engine is one of MagiCraftes branches of expertise.
But regardless of that, the ship was rapidly approaching the Lighting Rain cloud and there was no one on the deck for some obvious reasons.
Quash had his shoes off so he could better absorb the Energies better.
He felt his heart race a bit faster. Partially from anxiety and Partially from excitement.
He was a bit anxious because Lighting Rain among the clouds was naturally far more stronger than then they fall to the ground.
And excitement because the amount of energy gained should also be greater.... or so he hoped.
Quash waited at the door of the deck. He looked out side which showed the scale if this world. Even though Grundleas city is a massive city surrounding a 1000 kilometer lake in diameter, it is still small compared to the mountain range surrounding it. The overwhelming green stretching to horizon.
Birds flying near the land. Because the Grundleas area lacks Natural Energy, monsters are very rare thing. So there was no birds on this altitude.
As Quash was marvelling at the breath taking beauty of the nature, he heard low rumbling ahead an ld saw a massive, dark cloud. Blue light flashing way more frequently than before.
Indicating that it is about to rain and the water is almost fully charged. Although it was still a bit far, Quash could feel the Natural Energy even from here.
The students inside the ship is also preparing to Cultivate inside their own room since te captain announced that they will be slowing down and they should try to increase their energy reserves as much as possible.
*Swish~*
The ship entred the cloud and the density of Natural Energy in the Air increased by a notch. Water broplets from the air stuck into the deck, making it wet. It moved slowly.
Quash was also affected. He felt prickling sensation all over. His Aura was circulating at 2500 cycles per second for no other reason other than for the sake of it.
Even with that speed, the lightning here was truly stronger.
But that won’t stop Quash as he felt the numbness receded a bit. He stepped in the deck and more water drop let started to cling to his body. His body was assaulted from all side. Quash had his eyes closed for safty. But feeling a bit low in confidence in that regard, he pulled out Daddy Gojo built and put it on.
Just in case.
Feeling more confident, he hyped himself up and walked to the center of the deck. His Proprioception on.
When he was on the center, he inclined a bit, spread his legs apparent for better maneuverability and murmured under his breath,
"Killer Move Serious Series: Serious Side Jumps."
And Instantly hundreds of blad Quash... did not appear. He was just side jumping around the deck very fast. Getting the water to stick on his body as much as he can.
Meanwhile, the capital also saw Quash walk to the center with his usual expression but with a released heart. He had ordered his crew to step in to help at any moment but it seemed the kid had the situation under control.
But the more he watched the kid, the more perplexed he became. Instead of sitting do down Cultivating, the kid started to hope around like a deer.
He wondered what was wrong with this kid. And if he actually knew how to increase Resistance Stats effectively.
He was about to scream at the kid for stop messing around and to sit and circulate so he can increase Resistance to lighting faster, but before he could, he saw Quash sip and face slammed into the deck.
The scene made the captain grimace a bit.
"That would have hurt."
He murmured involuntarily but Quash got up and shot him a thumbs up without looking back. He thought for a second before he just siged and put the mic down whole shaking his head. Kids these days has their way of doing things old timers like him has no idea about.
He had been sailing through the sky for 237 years and this was the first time he had seen a kid jump around to increase his Resistance Stats inside a a Lighting Rain cloud while wearing a blind fold. He wondered if that was some kind of Artifact.
Even if it was, he won’t be surprised with who his grandparents were.
The captain continued to sail the ship slowly and Quash continued his energy gathering which at one point, he had to stop... because they were of of the cloud.
Obviously.
Quash went insidethe ship. His body fully wet water dripping as he went. He had taken the Daddy Gojo build off. He was out of breath because he had pushed himself to the limits in that short amount of time.
Quash entered his room and went inside the bathroom to freahen up. He showered with cold water first then with hot water. He touched the right side of his face and felt it throb in pain that was slowly going away.
Through the side Jumps, he had slipped quite a few times. And every time his face touched the deck floor, he experienced a Windows error and had to wait for few seconds for his system to reboot.
He tried to fix his center of gravity, kinetic energy transfer, when when the floor is slipperry, technical issues is bound to appear. But that gave a critical insight to Quash.
He realised that slipping could be very lethal opportunity creator for the enemy to exploit.
So he decided to think of something to prevent it. Quash got out of the shower, put on new clothes from his Spatial Ring and slumped down on the big ded. The throbbing of his face long gone like a bad memory. Quash got comfortable and pulled his Status Window. He felt there ware some changes to it.
