I Don't Want To Be An Omega In My Sister's Trashy Reverse Harem [BL]

Chapter 199: Telling Lucien The Truth!

Chapter 199: Telling Lucien The Truth!

Lucien didn’t miss the tightness in Rin’s jaw, the way his eyes didn’t hold even a hint of playfulness. The moment he saw that expression, all the teasing that had been sitting on his tongue died.

"Sure, let’s head in."

He nodded silently and placed a hand on the small of Rin’s back, guiding him into the room and shutting the door behind them.

Still in his armour, Lucien opened his arms with a half-smile.

"Alright," he said lightly. "What made my sweetheart look like this? You look like you’re about to tell me the world is ending."

He was joking, completely unaware that Rin was about to tell him something close to that.

Rin pressed his back against the door, fingers curling around the edge of his cloak. His breathing felt too loud in the quiet room. He swallowed hard.

"...Lucien," he said quietly.

Lucien tilted his head. "Hm?"

"The demons are advancing."

Lucien didn’t react at first. He simply crossed one arm over his chest and nodded, almost casually.

"Yes. I already know that. The reports have been..."

"In three days," Rin added.

Lucien froze. The air changed. He wasn’t smiling anymore. For a few seconds, he didn’t say anything. Then his eyes flicked to the door, as if making sure it was closed even though he had locked it himself. He stepped closer.

"...Rin," he said slowly. "What are you talking about?"

Rin pushed off the door and moved closer until he was right in front of Lucien. His voice was low, trembling slightly even though he tried to hide it.

"They’ll attack the capital in three days."

Lucien’s heartbeat visibly stilled. His brows knit together.

"How do you know that?"

Rin’s lips parted, but no words came out. A hundred thoughts raced through his mind at once.

’Will he push me away? Maybe tell me to leave? Will he think I’m lying? Will he think I’m dangerous? Will he tell the knights?’

Rin lowered his gaze. His hands were turning cold. Lucien noticed it and gently placed both hands on his shoulders.

"Rin," Lucien said softly, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Don’t leave me hanging. Talk to me. I swear, I’ll listen to everything you have to say."

Rin looked up at him, eyes wavering. He inhaled shakily.

"...Because..."

He paused again.

"Because I’m one of them."

Silence fell.

Rin squeezed his eyes shut, expecting Lucien’s hands to tighten, or pull away, or shove him.

Instead, Lucien’s hands lifted off his shoulders.

Rin’s heart sank.

He’s stepping back.

But when Rin opened his eyes, Lucien wasn’t backing away at all. He was simply folding his arms across his chest, staring at Rin with a calm expression that shouldn’t belong to someone who had just heard such a confession.

Rin blinked.

"...Did... you hear what I said?"

Lucien nodded once. "I did."

Rin stared at him in disbelief. "Then why aren’t you yelling at me? Or hitting me? Or telling me to get out?"

Lucien let out a quiet sigh. "Why would I hit you? Rin, come on."

Rin felt his throat tighten. "Because I’m a demon. Humans don’t... humans don’t want to be with demons."

Lucien’s expression softened even more, unbelievably so.

"I’m not ’humans.’ I’m me. I’m your man."

He stepped closer.

"And honestly, I already suspected it."

Rin’s eyes widened. "You what?"

Lucien raised a brow. "Rin... you suddenly became strong after two years apart. You handled my brother like he weighed nothing. You lied about having a contract with a demon and then fought like someone who didn’t need one."

He paused, and then he slowly placed a hand over his own chest, exactly where the glowing orb had been hidden before.

"And you’re the only one who knew about this."

Rin felt something break inside him... something tight. His vision blurred for a moment. He lowered his head as guilt washed over him.

"I didn’t mean to hide it," Rin whispered. "I didn’t want you to hate me."

Lucien stepped forward and gently touched Rin’s chin, lifting it so their eyes met.

"Rin," he said quietly. "Even if you were a dragon, I wouldn’t leave your side."

The first tear slid down Rin’s cheek before he could stop it. Lucien’s thumb was there immediately, brushing it away as he smiled softly. It wasn’t a mocking smile. It was gentle and warm.

Rin let out a shaky breath. For the first time, he didn’t hide the tears that followed.

Lucien pulled him in, arms wrapping around him firmly. Rin held onto him as if he might disappear soon. Their chests pressed together, breaths mingling. Rin’s fingers clutched the back of Lucien’s armour.

"I’ll never hide anything from you again," Rin murmured against his shoulder.

"It’s okay," Lucien whispered. "Take your time. I’m not going anywhere."

They stood there like that for almost a minute—quiet, steady, the kind of embrace Rin didn’t know he needed until he was in it.

But then Lucien remembered Rin’s first words.

He pulled back slightly. His brows furrowed with real worry now.

"Rin... the demons are really coming in three days?"

Rin wiped his face quickly with his sleeve and nodded. "Yes."

Lucien slowly sank onto the edge of the bed and gestured for Rin to sit too. Rin sat beside him.

"How did you find out?" Lucien asked.

"Through my aunt," Rin answered. "She’s a demon."

Lucien nodded thoughtfully. "That wicked-looking woman? I’m not that surprised. Your mother too?"

Rin nodded again.

"And Winter?"

Rin shook his head quickly. "No. He’s human. Just me, my mom, and my aunt."

Lucien exhaled deeply, rubbing his forehead.

"Alright... then I need to hear everything. But later. Right now, I have to go back to the palace and inform them."

He stood and reached for his armour straps. Rin quickly stood too.

"Are you also heading there to prepare?" Rin asked quietly.

"To prepare and evacuate the people," Lucien said. "If we only have three days, we need every hour."

Rin swallowed hard. "You have to be careful."

Lucien gave him a lopsided smile. "I will."

He reached for Rin and held his face gently before leaning in. Rin’s eyes softened instantly, and he closed the distance. Their lips met again. The kiss was warm and slow as it was filled with things neither of them had the words for.

Rin kissed him again, pressing soft kisses along Lucien’s cheek and neck.

Lucien touched his waist. "If you keep doing that, I won’t leave."

Rin broke into a tiny smile and stepped back. "Go, Lucien."

Lucien nodded, adjusted the last strap of his armour, took one more lingering look at Rin, and left the room.

After the door closed, Rin stood for several seconds, staring at the handle.

Three days... he’ll be busy as hell

’I don’t know when I’ll see him again.’

He clasped his hands together, fingers trembling slightly, and whispered a small prayer.

"To whatever god, demon, or anything out there... I hope you protect him for me."

He took a breath and straightened.

"I can’t sit here doing nothing."

He looked toward the window. The sky was bright, but it didn’t feel comforting.

"I’ll return Winter to the brothel tomorrow... and I’ll start practising again."

He poked the air and pulled out his gun from his storage. He slid the bullets into it slowly as each click echoed in the room.

He held the weapon in his hand, turning it slightly.

"...Can a gun kill a demon?"

A faint grin pulled at the corner of his mouth.

"Well... I’ll find out in three days."
