Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 820: Destined

Chapter 820: Destined

She widened her eyes and looked at him, momentarily at a loss for what to say.

Robert Stephens glanced at her, furrowed his brows, shook off the smell of smoke on himself, and said to her, "Come back to the United States with me tomorrow."

Charlotte Smith’s heart violently skipped a beat, she slightly clenched her fingers and looked at him without speaking.

However, Robert appeared a bit impatient. He walked over to the window, frowned as he gazed outside, and after a while, he said to her, "If you come back with me, I’ll overlook all the foolish things you’ve done."

Charlotte lowered her head, "I don’t want to go back."

"You want to stay here?" The man seemed to laugh angrily, leaning against the window to gaze at her coldly, "I suppose you have no idea how you’re going to die."

"That’s my business, nothing to do with you."

"Charlotte Smith, would you dare say that again?"

Robert’s icy voice sounded again, this time with obvious anger.

Charlotte was frightened into silence, looking up at him anxiously, her lips pressed tightly together.

Robert sneered inwardly at her rabbit-like timid gaze, crossing his arms, his eyes fell on Charlotte’s figure, observing her frail shoulders that couldn’t fill out the hospital gown in her haggard appearance.

"If you keep being stubborn, I’ll take you back today," he threatened, "Do you really think there’s nothing I can do about you?"

Charlotte’s mind was dizzy, Robert’s words made her heart grow heavier, her hand pressed against her abdomen, feeling her whole body begin to turn cold.

She really wanted to say, you’re about to get engaged to Janet Madison, what could you possibly want by taking me back?

But she felt weak, what did her desires have to do with Robert?

If he would even listen to her once, she wouldn’t have ended up in this situation.

Charlotte’s complexion gradually turned pale, Robert watched her slightly trembling lips, frowning, he didn’t continue talking, just said, "Rest well, I’ll go book the tickets."

Charlotte was silent for a few seconds, couldn’t help but call out to him, "Robert!"

The man who hadn’t yet stepped out stopped in his tracks, turning his face to look at her.

"I..." She bit her lip, at a loss for words once again, shook her head, "I have nothing to say..."

Robert quietly watched her for a moment, his tone softened a bit, "Rest well."

Charlotte looked at him until he exited the room and closed the door.

She lay back down and gently hugged the blanket, eyes wide open, unable to sleep.

Robert hadn’t mentioned anything about the child, and she didn’t dare to either, but once she returned to the United States, the child in her womb would inevitably be brought into the open for discussion.

She was somewhat afraid, fearing a repeat of the past life, that kind of excruciating pain — she didn’t want to experience it again.

But she felt powerless.

She had done everything she could, even getting a contraceptive shot, yet this destined child still came along.

In one’s life, is everything predetermined from the moment of birth?

No matter how you struggle, you can only alter the path it takes, but you can’t change the outcome.

Just thinking about it was enough to feel despair.

She lay in bed, her mind in chaos, completely unable to sleep. She didn’t know how much time had passed when the door to the ward was opened again, and upon hearing the sound, Charlotte instinctively sat up, only to see Robert quietly push open the door, his brow furrowed as he saw her eyes looking at him, he said, "Why are you still awake?"
