Chapter 815: Charlotte, Don’t Leave Me Alone

Chapter 815: Charlotte, Don’t Leave Me Alone

Today, Charlotte Smith looks somewhat weak. She already appeared a bit pale before, but today her face is completely devoid of color.

She shook her head, unwilling to say much to Janet Madison, stood up from the sofa, and started to clean up the dishes.

She didn’t know what went wrong, but suddenly her vision went black, and she couldn’t stand upright, collapsing straight to the floor.

Instinctively, she protected her belly with her hand, her whole body collapsing straight to the ground.

She opened her eyes, feeling her consciousness gradually fade away. Janet Madison’s screams seemed to pass through a filter, faintly reaching her ears; she might scare her to death again.

Charlotte Smith fainted.

...

She didn’t know how much time had passed, maybe a few minutes or maybe a few hours.

When she awoke from the cold hard floor, Charlotte Smith felt stiff all over.

"Charlotte, Charlotte," Janet’s voice was tear-stricken, "are you alright? Have you woken up?"

Charlotte lightly blinked her eyes, looked up at Janet, who was crying on the bed, and exhaled, crawling from the floor to the sofa.

With her mind in a mess, Charlotte looked down at her still flat abdomen and softly asked, "How long was I out?"

Janet sniffed, "Half an hour. I kept calling you, but you didn’t respond. What happened?"

She was practically scared to death.

If Charlotte died here, she’d probably starve to death too.

"You should go to the hospital," Janet suggested, "you might have some terminal illness."

"Stop cursing me," Charlotte gave her a look, still frowning tightly, "I just felt a bit unwell."

"Can feeling unwell make you faint?" Janet asked, "I heard that early stages of brain cancer can cause..."

"If you curse me again, you won’t get any dinner today," Charlotte said coldly.

Janet, knowing better, quickly shut her mouth at the threat, only looking at her with her tear-reddened eyes.

"...I will go to the hospital tomorrow." Charlotte sighed, trying to console her, "But the women’s and children’s hospital here is quite far. Will you be alright alone at home?"

Janet widened her eyes in surprise, looking at her.

Charlotte spoke softly, "I might be gone for a day and a night."

She wasn’t trying to scare her; it was true that here, there were only small clinics run by amateur doctors. To get a full health checkup, she needed to travel some distance to find a proper hospital.

If Janet hadn’t come over, she would have gone out by herself without a second thought.

Now with Janet here, she was somewhat constrained.

Janet, terrified, cried, "Charlotte, don’t leave me here alone, wuwuwu."

Charlotte felt a bit like laughing.

But her head was dizzy, and she couldn’t quite laugh.

When she was pregnant in her previous life, her family took care of everything, and she didn’t remember anything being wrong with herself.

But now, taking care of herself, it’s hard to avoid any complications.

If she really caused her child’s demise, then she would have no other way out.

"I’ll take you with me tomorrow." Charlotte lowered her eyes, said calmly, "Don’t wander around. It’s not safe here. Little girls like you might go missing before a call gets through. I’m not planning on killing you; once my pregnancy stabilizes, I’ll let you go."
