Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 806: Is She Stupid?

Chapter 806: Is She Stupid?

He seemed tired, fell asleep quickly, and slept peacefully.

But Charlotte couldn’t sleep at all that night.

Pregnant for nearly a month now, and already experiencing nausea; her body exhausted and sleepy, someone as sensitive and smart as Robert would soon notice something amiss.

In her previous life, she had the Smith family to help cover things up, but this time she could only rely on herself. Charlotte didn’t know what to do.

A sleepless night.

By the time Robert woke up the next day, Charlotte had already gotten out of bed.

Nicholas brought breakfast for the two of them. Seeing that Robert and Charlotte were getting along and not arguing, he was relieved.

He thought he might have said something wrong yesterday and caused tension between Charlotte and Robert.

After breakfast, Robert needed to go to work at the company. Before leaving, he said to her, "Let’s have dinner together at home tonight."

Charlotte was momentarily stunned, then heard Robert explain, "Aunt has missed you."

The "Aunt" Robert referred to was Edward Stephens’ mother. Charlotte remembered that when she and Robert weren’t having misunderstandings, she had a good relationship with Lady Stephens too.

She nodded and softly replied, "Got it."

Maybe noticing her low spirits, the man reached out and stroked her small face, looking down at her, "What’s wrong?"

Charlotte kept her head down, "I might not feel like going to work."

Robert laughed a bit at this, "Who told you to work? If you don’t want to continue, quit and stay home with Edward and Aunt."

Charlotte responded with an "Mm," nodding her head, "You should go to work."

The man still wore a smile. In his eyes, all her recent actions probably seemed childish.

He leaned down, gently brushed his lips against hers, lingered for a moment, and then turned to leave with Nicholas.

Charlotte walked back inside alone, sat on the bed, looked down at her flat belly, and spaced out.

This was a dead end.

Charlotte thought.

She was destined to be pregnant with this child and equally destined not to be able to deliver him. Fate was terrifying like this; her and Robert’s ending was predetermined from the start.

Janet’s appearance only confirmed further that this child shouldn’t come into the world. Regardless of whether she could bear it or not, Robert won’t allow her to have this baby.

But she was powerless.

In the Lincoln car.

Nicholas drove for a while and glanced at the rearview mirror.

"What’s up?"

The man sitting in the back seat with his legs crossed, absorbed in reading documents on the iPad, keenly sensed his gaze, and asked without looking up.

This guy is like a wild animal...

Nicholas muttered to himself, clearing his throat, "Yesterday Miss Smith asked about your relationship with Miss Madison. Do you want to explain it clearly to her? I’m afraid Miss Smith will overthink."

"Explain what?" Robert didn’t lift his head, his tone unperturbed, "I’ve already explained it to her; she can understand."

"Ahem." Nicholas said, "How did you explain it to Miss Smith?"

Robert finally lifted his head to look at him, a hint of impatience in his beautiful eyes. He gently tapped the iPad’s screen with his fingers, "I say, Nicholas, why are you being so nosy today? Have you finished the tasks I assigned you?"

This is just concern for your relationship, boss...

Nicholas said, "What if Miss Smith can’t understand?"

Robert frowned, "Do you think she’s dumb?"
