Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen

Chapter 478: Who is your dad?

Chapter 478: Who is your dad?

During breakfast, Daisy Ginger was holding her phone, scheduling an appointment for Edward Stephens.

The man sat across from her, slowly eating fried rice with eggs, possibly because his cold wasn’t completely gone yet, he didn’t eat much and had little appetite.

"It’s at ten-thirty," Daisy Ginger put away her phone, addressing the man opposite, "Any later and they’ll be off duty."

Edward Stephens stirred his rice with a spoon, "It’s okay if I don’t go today."

When will this cold get better if you don’t go to the hospital?

When can she leave if his cold doesn’t get better?

Daisy Ginger didn’t give him the chance to have his way, decisively saying, "We’ll go right after breakfast."

"Tch." He let out a cold snort, ignoring her.

Edward Stephens had been dealing with his cold for more than a week, and it only gradually got better.

By the time he fully recovered, more than half a month had passed.

During this time, Daisy Ginger returned to the film crew.

She found that Elena Raven was being well taken care of by Ryan Smith, which was quite surprising.

She was originally a nobody, even though she got the role of the second female lead, she had no backing, and anyone could bully her.

Now Ryan Smith was clinging to her every day, and the people in the crew were prudent, no one dared to give her any trouble.

This is how the industry works, so some celebrities, even if they don’t want to be kept, have to find a benefactor to protect them just to avoid being bullied.

Daisy Ginger did not wish for Elena Raven to go down this path—or rather, she didn’t want any of her artists to take this unspoken rule route, but if they insisted, she couldn’t stop them. After all, it’s indeed the fastest way to succeed.

There are many ways to succeed, the shortcut of selling one’s body and emotions, even though she doesn’t prefer it, she can’t deny it’s normalized in this industry.

Ryan Smith is Edward Stephens’ friend, although she doesn’t like him, if Elena Raven really gets together with him, the benefits she could get surely outweigh what Daisy can offer.

Daisy Ginger specifically went back to talk to Elena Raven about this issue, leaving the young girl bewildered.

She was quite serious, but looking at Elena Raven’s confused expression, she found it hard to continue.

The two stared at each other for a while before Daisy Ginger asked somewhat wearily, "...Did you understand what I just said?"

Elena Raven: "But I don’t like him."

Daisy Ginger: "This isn’t about liking..."

"I don’t like him, I won’t be with him."

She had talked so much, and this was the conclusion she came to.

Daisy Ginger held her forehead, suddenly feeling amused for some reason.

Alright, she indeed overestimated this girl, after all, it’s rare for anyone to play a second lead and still be bullied by extras.

Just a bit of cleverness, and her situation wouldn’t be so bad.

Daisy Ginger patted her shoulder, sincerely saying, "Keep it up."

It’s rare to find a girl who matches her ideals, even if she had to pay herself to buy resources, she’d still support her to rise.

This day at noon, Daisy Ginger returned to Royal Entertainment to check on its recent business.

Royal Entertainment was only a small company with ten-some signed artists, although she was currently one of the company leaders, she mostly worked as an agent.

Her only advantage was probably only needing to manage one person.

Royal Entertainment recently signed a couple of small idols, Daisy Ginger glanced over their profiles, their business capabilities were average.

"Ginger," the company’s finance approached her, "Do you have a moment? This remittance slip needs to be sent to the Industrial and Commercial Bank, I have to drive back later and can’t leave, but they urgently need it."

Daisy Ginger closed her computer, acknowledging, "Okay, leave it here, I’ll send it over when I go out for lunch."

"Then sorry for the trouble, thank you, Ginger." The finances clasped their hands together, handed her a stack of remittance slips, and left gratefully.

At eleven-thirty, Edward Stephens sent a message asking when she’d come over to have lunch with him.

Daisy Ginger looked at the message, sighed a bit helplessly, and rubbed her forehead.

This guy, really knows how to strike while the iron is hot.

After he recovered, she intentionally kept her distance, but somehow he seemed to have noticed something, starting to send her messages and calls discreetly.

Not that she can’t refuse, but it feels like betraying herself somehow.

Looking back now, she was totally fooled by Edward Stephens’ feigning weakness, she usually goes soft rather than hard, let alone Edward Stephens deliberately pretending to be weak in front of her, how could she resist?

This might be... an unusual "handsome man trick"?

Anyway, she was tricked.

Thinking about it made Daisy Ginger want to shake the water that had gone into her head back then.

"I need to send the remittance slip to the bank later, you go ahead and eat."

She refused him.

Soon, he replied with another message.

"Then join me for dinner tonight."

This guy...

Ginger bit her pen, her slender fingertips tapping on the screen: "Depends."

He replied with a "^_^" smiley face.

Selling this cuteness.

Ginger let out a light snort, put down her phone, glanced at the time, and picked up the pile of remittance slips on the table corner, then stood up.

The Industrial and Commercial Bank was just a ten-minute walk from Royal Entertainment, Daisy chose to walk there instead of driving.

It was early summer, the weather gradually warming up, and Daisy wandered on the sidewalk, feeling a sense of long-lost ease.

The climate in Tsing City and Banyan City was similar, she’d lived there for four years, it was essentially her second home.

After submitting the remittance slip at the bank, Daisy strolled down the street, planning to find a small shop to have lunch.

She spotted a noodle shop and was about to turn toward it, when suddenly something bumped into her foot, causing her to stop instinctively and glance down.

It was an orange rubber ball.

Daisy frowned slightly, bent down to pick up the ball, looked around wanting to find the owner, when she felt someone tugging at her hem.

"Sister, that’s my ball."

Daisy took a step back, looked down, and saw a little boy seeming about three or four years old standing before her, reaching out his hand.

As her eyes fell on the boy’s face, Daisy’s pupils twitched.

This kid...

Looks a lot like Erin Ginger.

Daisy squatted down, handed the ball over to him, and said, "Playing with balls on the road is dangerous. Where are your mom and dad?"

At close range, he really looked similar.

Could it be that cute kids all look the same?

Daisy shook her head, dismissing this ridiculous thought, and listened to the child speak softly, "Dad’s been in Tsing City for a long time without returning home, the teacher brought me over to find dad."

Daisy looked at him, "Who’s your dad?"

The child hugged the orange ball, looked up at her. Daisy noticed that his eyes, darker than other children his age, reflected her face back like a little mirror.
