Chapter 475: Divorce James Shelton
Chapter 475: Divorce James Shelton
Edward Stephens stood up from the sofa without glancing at her, his tall figure leaving straight for the stairs.
"..." Daisy Ginger stood alone downstairs, watching his figure, couldn’t help but frown as she called out to him, "Edward Stephens!"
He ignored her completely.
After the man left, Daisy couldn’t help but frown deeply.
She always felt that staying with this man would make her age prematurely sooner or later.
"Miss Ginger."
The housekeeper also seemed embarrassed, unsure of what to say, just standing by awkwardly looking at her.
With Edward Stephens as such an unpredictable boss, he was rather unfortunate as well.
"Bring me the fever and cold medicine." Daisy sighed lightly, taking off her newly donned high heels, "I’ll go check on him."
Immediately a servant handed Edward’s medicine to her, and Daisy, wearing slippers, went upstairs.
The study light was off, the man was not in the study working, and she had never been to Edward’s bedroom, so she didn’t know where he actually resided, only relying on instinct, she searched room by room.
She walked to the entrance of a room with an open window, catching a faint smell of smoke in the air.
Raising her head, Daisy saw the man leaning against the window sill, blowing cold air, smoking.
He was lightly dressed, the cold wind even billowing his shirt, the hem fluttering, revealing a glimpse of his slim, fair waist.
This guy was really courting death, having had a fever as high as forty degrees, now smoking and braving the wind.
Daisy truly wanted to leave him be, after all, they were already divorced, he could go on courting death all he wanted, what did it have to do with her?
Suppressing her anger, she walked forward, grabbed his collar, and pressed him against the wall.
The man leaned against the wall, looking at her mildly, his eyes motionless.
The thin white smoke lingered between the two, gently dissipated by the evening breeze. Daisy stared at him, reaching out, taking the cigarette from his fingers, and tossing it out the window right in front of him.
"Edward Stephens!" she spat his name through clenched teeth.
The man looked out the window without a sound.
His tone was flat: "Didn’t you leave? Why did you come back?"
"I don’t want to hear about your untimely death from pneumonia a few days later!"
"It’s got nothing to do with you."
"..."
"You don’t like me anyway," the man glanced at her, his voice steady, "Do you care whether I live or die?"
"..." She had never met someone so shameless.
Daisy’s slender, white fingers gripping his collar slowly tightened.
She was furious, thinking she should have left him to fend for himself on set, why was she even bothering with this mess?
Might as well strangle him!
Her face turned alternating shades of pale and flushed, Daisy glared at him, lips pressed tight, too angry to speak.
Seeming to find her look amusing, the man even curled his lips into a slight smile, a wordless provocation.
The bastard!
Daisy took a deep breath and threw the medicine she was holding right at the man’s face, turning to leave.
The man chuckled lightly and followed behind her.
Daisy: "I’m warning you, don’t follow me!"
He snorted softly, sidling up behind her, wrapping his arm around her waist, restraining her against the wall and himself even as she struggled in his hold.
Meeting her anger-filled eyes, his lips slowly descended, kissing her trembling eyelids, then gently brushing against her tender lips.
"...Daisy, divorce James Shelton." His voice emerged from his throat like a sigh, causing Daisy to shiver down to her very bones, almost unable to stay upright, "Will you?"
