Chapter 411 - 437: The Last Supper
The car left behind.
Daisy Ginger stood in place, beneath the starlit sky, looking at the young man not far away.
They had been together for so long, yet they had never seemed so distant.
Daisy was silent for a moment, then smiled at him and began to walk toward his direction.
She walked up to him, looked at him, and chuckled lightly, "I thought you didn’t want to see me anymore."
The man’s gaze landed on her face, after a while, he slowly raised his hand.
Daisy watched his movement, her gaze unflinching, waiting for his hand to fall on her neck or face.
Until her cold hand was held by the man’s warm, thick palm, she was a little stunned, not yet coming back to her senses, already being led into the glass greenhouse.
The greenhouse was transparent, with a constant temperature, right in early summer, the plants were lush, and the scent of flowers filled the air.
Daisy looked up and saw the Milky Way above her head.
Countless brilliant silver shadows, like fallen fragments of stars, flickered and danced on the glass ceiling, without turning on the lights, yet it didn’t feel dim at all, as if she had accidentally entered a dazzling dream.
The man didn’t speak, and Daisy also fell silent, neither wanting to break such a wonderful illusion.
Daisy didn’t know where Edward Stephens wanted to take her, nor did she want to ask, just letting herself be led until he stopped.
In front of them was an open space, paved with white tiles, light pink tulips quietly exuded their scent under the night sky.
In the midst of the pink petals, there was a dining table set with red wine, candlelight, and already prepared food.
"..." Daisy silently turned her head to look at him, the man said nothing, just led her to the table.
Daisy sat down in front of him, watching him pour a glass of red wine for her, then personally cut her a steak.
The steak was freshly made, very tender, the candlelight flickered, under the starlight, this candlelit dinner could only be described as exceedingly romantic.
Daisy kept her head down, slowly eating half of the steak, then looked up at the man sitting across from her.
The man seemed to notice her gaze, looked up at her, and asked faintly, "What is it?"
Daisy smiled, "Is this the last supper?"
Once she was full, would he kill her and bury her beneath the wilderness greenhouse?
The man put down his knife and fork, "Are you full?"
Daisy nodded, drank the red wine in front of her, then said, "What else do you want to do?"
The man wiped his lips with a napkin, stood up from his chair, "Let’s go."
"..." Daisy was silent for a while, then followed him.
Edward Stephens took her for a walk around the greenhouse, then went outside.
A cold wind blew over, Daisy shivered slightly, her shoulder suddenly felt heavier, it was the man’s jacket, covering her shoulders.
She looked up, glanced at the young man in thin clothing in front of her, pursed her lips slightly, took off the jacket, and returned it to him.
The man lowered his eyes and looked at the jacket in her hands for a while, didn’t say anything, just reached out to take the jacket back.
"Why did you come looking for me today?"
Daisy asked, unable to resist.
She didn’t expect that in the end, the first one to lose patience would be herself.
Edward didn’t answer, just said faintly, "There’s a brook ahead, you can see the Milky Way sitting there. Do you want to go?"
A brook?
Did he want to drown her?
Daisy’s mind was spinning with confusion caused by him, and she couldn’t help but say, "What exactly do you want to do, no need to be so perfunctory, just say what you have to say directly."
