Chapter 410 - 436: Wishes Fulfilled
"Daisy..." Lady Stephens mumbled, unable to speak, watching Daisy Ginger turn around with a calm expression and leave through the door.
After Daisy Ginger left, Edward Stephens also stood up. He walked over to Robert Stephens, looking down at him.
"Brother," he asked indifferently, "Is this what you wanted?"
Robert stared at him, without saying a word.
Edward let out a sarcastic laugh, turned around, and left without looking back.
*
Daisy Ginger walked slowly.
She walked until she reached the artificial lake and found Charlotte Smith sitting by the lakeside, lost in thought.
In the vast Stephens family estate, she seemed to be just like Daisy, with nowhere to go, hiding in a place that felt safe during such a complicated time.
Upon hearing footsteps, Charlotte instinctively turned her head and saw Daisy standing behind her, then stood up from the ground.
Her face was still pale, and she softly called out, "Miss Ginger."
"Congratulations," Daisy found a spot under the shade of a tree to sit, without looking at her, "You got what you wanted."
Charlotte moved her lips, "I’m sorry."
"Since you made the choice, there’s nothing to be sorry about," Daisy watched the sunlight filtering through the leaves, "Thanks to you, I’m also leaving soon."
With Robert Stephens providing protection, no one in the Stephens family dared to privately deal with the child in Charlotte’s womb.
Although she didn’t know what had gotten into Robert to allow Charlotte to keep the child, she thought Robert had feelings for Charlotte.
Charlotte kept her head down, saying nothing more.
After a long silence, she quietly said, "Once you leave, don’t ever come back here again. I’m sorry, Miss Ginger."
She bowed deeply, then turned and left the lakeside.
Daisy closed her eyes, unable to hold back a sarcastic laugh.
This woman, even when being the villain, did it so hypocritically.
*
It wasn’t until dusk that Daisy finally got up and returned.
As she reached the door, the butler spoke to her, "Miss Ginger, the Second Young Master requests your presence."
Daisy glanced at him, then looked at the brilliantly lit villa, "He’s not home?"
"The car is ready," the butler said, "Would you like to go?"
Daisy was silent for a moment, then nodded, "Take me there."
Since that day, they hadn’t had a proper conversation.
Though she couldn’t think of what there was left to discuss between her and Edward Stephens.
Yet, they still needed to give each other a closure of sorts.
She had thought of a thousand ways to leave, but never imagined it would be like this.
Edward probably hated her to death; she wouldn’t even be surprised if he wanted to kill her.
Daisy got into the car.
She dozed off in the car, and upon waking, realized it was still moving, without reaching the destination.
The surroundings became more desolate, seemingly reaching the outskirts of Chicago.
Daisy hugged her knees, wondering to herself, had Edward finally gone mad today and planned to abandon her in the wilderness?
*
After driving for over half an hour, the road finally started to open up.
The view became brighter, illuminated by the starlight casting down from the galaxy above.
The car stopped in front of a transparent glass conservatory.
Daisy saw a man in a suit standing before the conservatory.
Under the starlight, his features appeared exceptionally handsome and distinct. He stood at the entrance, quietly watching her, with a gaze both gentle and profound.
