Chapter 360 - 389: She Has Long Been Homeless

Chapter 360 - 389: She Has Long Been Homeless

Daisy Ginger is missing.

When Edward Stephens realized this fact, he entered the women’s restroom with a cold, expressionless face.

Just fifteen minutes ago, Daisy told him she needed to go to the restroom.

He naturally accompanied her there.

He waited at the door for her to come out.

But after waiting for fifteen minutes without Daisy emerging, the tension inside him snapped.

A blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman was at the sink reapplying her makeup, and when she saw him enter, she screamed, "Ah—!"

Edward kept his eyes straight ahead and opened the stall doors. In the last stall, he found the coat and skirt Daisy was wearing for their shopping trip today.

The clothes were carelessly thrown on the floor, looking like they were changed in a hurry. He walked over and picked up the coat from the floor, which was cold and had long since lost Daisy’s body warmth.

He closed his eyes and searched his mind, recalling how many people had come out from there during the past ten minutes he had been waiting outside.

A total of ten, one of whom was likely Daisy in disguise.

Since the day she was discharged, she said she wanted to go shopping, and today she changed her clothes right under his nose and sneaked out. How long had she been planning for this moment?

It wasn’t a particularly thorough plan, but it was unexpectedly effective.

He hadn’t been guarding against Daisy planning to escape while out shopping together.

It seemed the two of them could no longer get along well.

After today, whenever he and Daisy were alone together, he would have to guard against whether she would try to run away.

He didn’t really want their relationship to reach this point.

But there seemed to be no way around it.

With a composed expression, the man exited the restroom, called the mall manager to check the surveillance, and then called the hospital to halt all induced labor surgeries in Chicago today.

Wearing a baseball cap, Daisy walked out of the restroom in one breath.

As she passed by Edward, he didn’t glance at her.

With just a small disguise and a change in walking style, she was unrecognizable.

She exited the cinema and casually hailed a car to get in.

The taxi driver was a native big-nosed American who asked her fluently in English, "Where to?"

Still slightly out of breath, Daisy sat in the car, feeling a bit incredulous and dazed.

She didn’t expect things would go so smoothly, that she could evade Edward’s watchful eyes without issue, so much so that goosebumps rose on her skin.

Where to?

When asked, Daisy instinctively wanted to answer—to the airport.

She already had her passport and could buy a ticket and fly back to Banyan City immediately.

But what then, after returning to Banyan City?

Her initial excitement and impulsiveness suddenly cooled, as a cold sweat broke out on her skin.

She wanted to see Ethan Pond and Zoe Hilker, and to check in on her company, dine at the Western restaurant she used to frequent, and even go home for a visit.

But she understood that if she went to see Ethan, she’d only cause them trouble.

The company was no longer hers.

And her home in Banyan City had long been empty, with no one living there.

Truthfully, once she left Chicago, she had nowhere to go.

Only now did she realize this fact reluctantly, and the excitement of escaping Edward slowly dimmed.

Where could she go?

She looked out the window, feeling a bit lost.

All this time she had thought about escaping, but now that she had left, she found her path back had been completely cut off.
