His Untold Lies

Chapter 9 Foolish Lies

Chapter 9 Foolish Lies

The hotel room was bathed in the gentle morning light, with the sun's rays warming their faces as they woke up. They rubbed their sleepy eyes, greeted by a serene and sunny morning. Fluffy white clouds floated across the sky.

"You know, I've spent a lot on Kia, but she won't even let me touch her hand. Not once. She's so reserved," Vincent remarked. He turned to Asteria and continued, "You, on the other hand, are much more accommodating, even allowing me to be intimate in my office."

"You know me well, honey. Does that mean I'm the only one you're involved with?" Asteria asked, her curiosity piqued.

Vincent was taken aback by the question. He hadn't expected Asteria to inquire about this.

"Right, Vincent?" Asteria pressed, repeating her question.

"Yeah, honey, you're the only one," he replied, although it wasn't entirely truthful.

"In that case, I have something to ask you," she said.

There was a moment of silence, during which Vincent tried to mask his nervousness with a smile. "What is it, honey?" he asked.

"Have you been in touch with my sister lately?" Asteria raised an eyebrow.

"No, she hasn't answered any of my calls. Is something wrong?" Vincent inquired.

Asteria grinned mischievously, leaving Vincent even more curious about what she was going to say. "Kianna doesn't know about us, right?"

"No, why would I tell her?" he replied.

"But she suddenly got married to someone else. She wouldn't have done that if she knew you weren't cheating on her and were faithfully in love with her. You're in trouble, you idiot!" Asteria exclaimed.

Vincent's face turned pale, and he stammered, "Married?! No way! I called her three days ago in the morning!"

Asteria furrowed her brow upon hearing this. "Didn't you just say you hadn't been in contact? Are you trying to deceive me? My father was going to give me the company as part of a dowry. If you dare cheat on me, you won't get a cent!" she said angrily while playfully punching Vincent's arm.

"Asteria, stop it! Ouch, that hurts! Honey, it's my fault! I'm so sorry. I'm not cheating on you. I'm committed to you. Kianna means nothing to me!" he exclaimed.

Asteria rolled her eyes, recalling that she had pursued Vincent not only to get back at Kianna but also to secure the company's equity as part of her dowry.

You fool, it was easy to seduce you once I knew I could take over the company. Might as well use you again, Asteria thought to herself, sporting a sly grin.

"Indeed, she got married. Everyone at school knows about it. They're mocking you, calling you a cuckold. You've become a laughingstock," she informed him.

"I thought she was innocent, so I took it slow with her. I can't believe she's already with another man! How dare she... cheat on me? I'll make things tough for her. I won't let anyone tarnish my pride!" Vincent fumed.

He got out of bed and grabbed his phone to call his driver. "I'm at the Samara Hotel. Come pick me up immediately! Now!"

...

Kianna was peacefully enjoying her lunch in the canteen when suddenly she heard a loud voice shouting her name. Her curiosity piqued, she turned to see her friend approaching, clearly out of breath.

"Miaree, what's going on? Why are you in such a hurry? Did you hear someone calling my name?" Kianna inquired.

"That jerk, Vincent Rivera, is here. Your step-sister must have spilled the beans about your marriage. He's causing a scene outside, and I think it's going to get messy, not just for you but for the whole school," Miaree explained, her concern evident.

"It's okay, don't worry, Miaree. I haven't done anything wrong, so there's no reason to be afraid of him making a scene here," Kianna reassured her friend.

Determined, Kianna stood up and headed outside to see what was happening. A crowd of students was already staring in her direction, and she could hear Vincent's loud voice.

"Let me in! I'm here to find someone!" Vincent was demanding, but the school guards were blocking his way.

"Sorry, we can't let you in without authorization from the dean," one of the guards firmly stated, pushing Vincent back as he attempted to force his way through.

As Kianna approached, she overheard hushed conversations among the students.

"What's going on?"

"Rumor has it that Kianna cheated on that guy..."

"Wow, caught someone in the act! This is getting interesting!"

Whispers swirled through the crowd. Kianna stopped and stood her ground, locking eyes with the man who had betrayed her and made her feel worthless.

"Do you know who I am?! How dare you stop me!" Vincent seethed with anger.

"We have a duty to maintain safety on campus, regardless of who you are. If you keep causing trouble, we'll have no choice but to call the police and have you arrested!" one of the guards firmly declared.

*Tap- Tap- Tap- Tap-*

"Wait a moment! I'll handle this. He's here to see me," Kianna calmly told the guards.

The gossip in the crowd grew louder as Kianna approached the guards, who turned to face her.

"The protagonist has arrived!"

"Isn't she from Section A?"

"Ha-ha, this is getting juicy!"

"She looks so innocent. Can't believe she cheated on him."

"I heard they were in love for years. She's ruthless."

Vincent, under Kianna's piercing gaze, stood frozen, unable to move or speak. He had never felt this intimidated before.

**Bitch! You're finished! How dare you cheat on me? I'll make you pay! No one can take what's rightfully mine...** he seethed silently, realizing that the crowd was starting to side with him, giving him the courage to face Kianna and create a narrative.
