His Untold Lies

Chapter 10 Secondhand Embarrassment

Chapter 10 Secondhand Embarrassment

"Kianna, I finally found you! You didn't answer my calls or texts, so I had to come here. Tell me the truth, are you married? I'm your boyfriend, your fiancé! You can't treat me like this!" He looked upset and tried to approach Kianna, but the guards stopped him.

"Shut up!" Kianna shouted angrily, silencing the crowd.

"Kia, what's wrong with you?" he asked nervously, wondering why Kianna was acting so arrogantly.

"Don't tell me... she knows about Asteria and me. No, that's impossible! I've been keeping it a secret from her!" Vincent thought to himself.

"Don't call me that! You disgust me! I blame myself for not realizing what kind of person you are," Kia said, feeling repulsed by her ex-fiancé.

"You can't treat me like this! We've been together for five years! I can't believe you'd be so heartless and marry someone else soon!" he stammered, struggling to maintain eye contact with Kia.

Kianna was furious. She never expected to see the person she had loved for years behave like this. She never thought this day would come, where the perfect relationship they had was shattered in an instant.

"Am I cruel? Look at what you've done! I officially break up with you! It's time for us to part ways. I got married, so please, leave me alone!" Kianna snapped irritably.

Vincent grew increasingly irritated with Kianna defending herself. He glared at her angrily, and if looks could kill, his would have been lethal.

"Did everyone hear that? What a shameless person! She cheated on me without any explanation! Can anyone tell me why? We've been in love for five years! And now I find out she's married someone else without telling me, making a fool out of me! She acted all innocent for five years, not letting me get close to her! And I believed her! Now she's rushed into marriage; she's probably pregnant! She's behaving immorally! She's gone too far. She's even trying to attract other men in that outfit! She might even be flirting with her professors for better grades!" Vincent said, gaining sympathy from the crowd.

The onlookers, unaware of the full story, started to believe what he said. Gossip began to spread, focusing on information they barely knew about.

"Wow, I didn't expect her to be like this!"

"She's heartless!"

"After five years together, she breaks up with him so easily."

"She got married suddenly, and it's embarrassing!"

"Shotgun weddings are a disgrace."

"It might be a rushed marriage due to a pregnancy. We don't even know who the father is!"

...

Kia:

What on earth is this? I spent five years with him, and suddenly, it hits me that he's a complete stranger. Enough is enough; it's time to say goodbye!

"Vincent Rivera! You jerk, don't you dare approach Kianna!" Miaree shouted. The crowd's attention shifted to her as she walked towards Vincent.

["It's Miaree, Kianna's close friend! Seems like there's more to this story."

"Let's see where this goes. She's quite outspoken!"]

"What audacity! You think we're clueless about you and Asteria? You piece of trash! Are you trying to make fools of us? Plus, you're all alone now. Kianna's married. It's none of your business, idiot! You're the one who cheated on her, you two-timer! And you don't even have the guts to admit it!" Miaree pointed an accusing finger at Vincent.

"You...you... You've got it all wrong! Believe it or not, I'll tarnish your reputation!" Vincent quivered with irritation.

"Tarnish my reputation? Don't forget, you have zero evidence for everything you just said. Stop talking nonsense!" I said, clenching my fist.

"What...evidence? What are you talking about, Kianna?"

I saw him swallow hard. He must be terrified of my next move. How dare he come here and shift the blame onto me when, in reality, he was the one who cheated on his loyal girlfriend, while I loved him unconditionally? I've never felt so betrayed in my life.

"Feeling scared?"

I was supposed to be at the center of the gossip, but then I saw you entering your condo...

"Well, are you going to deny it again? I'll show you the evidence!" I exclaimed, tossing a stack of photos into the air.

Students began snapping pictures and recording videos of the evidence I revealed. I could see him trembling in fear. How foolish he was to think I wouldn't have anything to prove my innocence.

["She's truly clever!"

"And she's got them caught in the act! That's amazing!"

"Look at that evidence; it's undeniable!"

"Don't mess with a loyal girlfriend, or they'll expose everything about you!"]

He couldn't bear what he was seeing. He dropped to his knees and hung his head, saying, "No, that's not true! Listen to me, Kianna... It was Asteria who came onto me. I was... I was really drunk! I mean, really wasted!"

"Oh, yes, you were, you fool! We already know that; there's no need to remind us!" Miaree chimed in, smirking.

"Vincent, we've been together for so long, and you still don't understand me at all! Do you think I'd forgive you for such immoral behavior? One is my boyfriend, the other is my stepsister. It's unbearable! Stay out of my sight from now on! You make me sick!" I declared as I approached him.

I stared at him for a moment, and suddenly, everything flashed before my eyes: the moments we shared, the days when I had no inkling he could do such things, the times when I placed my complete trust in him. It all began to fade away.

"Security guards, remove him! He's causing a disturbance at the school! If he resists, call the police for an unlawful entry! We're stuck at the gate because of an outsider, and classes are about to begin!"

"Understood!" one of the guards said and escorted Vincent away.

"Kianna, you'll regret this!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. "Damn jerk! Get out of my way!"

"Stop making us sick!" The guard added.

"Goodbye," I said, a faint smile playing on my lips. I entered the building, and as I walked away, the students dispersed to their respective classrooms.

"What a shameless jerk!" Miaree muttered, taunting Vincent.
