His Untold Lies

Chapter 14 Don't tell anyone

Chapter 14 Don't tell anyone

KIA

The day outside is utterly enchanting. The flowers and leaves on the plants sway lazily in the gentle breeze. However, my mind is far from peaceful, despite the tranquility of the school day. After enduring eight of these agonizingly slow periods, our mental faculties seem to have dulled. The moments immediately following our brief breaks are particularly challenging. Many of us find it hard to focus on the teacher's words. Restlessness plagues our ability to stay seated, and as the bell rings, signaling the end of the school day, excitement fills the air. An opening appears in the school gate, and like a rushing mountain stream, the boys hurry to leave.

"Kia! Kia!" I turn my head slightly to the left and hear Miaree's soft voice calling my name from behind.

"Um? What's going on, Miaree?"

"I need to talk to you about something important!" She pulls a chair next to mine and says, "Listen up! I've got the latest scoop, straight from the source! That jerk, Vincent, is about to get what's coming to him! Something interesting is happening within his family's organization. That's why he didn't kneel down and beg for your forgiveness earlier today. It was all hush-hush," she says in a conspiratorial tone.

"He's always been like that. Back in high school, I used to find it romantic how he waited by the gate every day to make a move on me. But now I realize he's just consistent. Although I must say, his persistence is a bit unsettling... If he keeps waiting at the gate for too long, I might have to call the authorities. Creepy!" I shiver involuntarily and give myself a hug.

"You can't be serious!" Miaree exclaims. "That's exactly what worries me. The more intense his pursuit, the harsher his vengeance after a breakup!"

"I like that, Miaree. It's clever. Well put! I'll have to remember that for the future!" I playfully respond.

She giggles and then moves closer, saying, "Let me tell you how miserable he's become!"

"Miaree, spill the beans!"

"Without any apparent reason, over the past two days, the Vueravista Company has ruthlessly crushed the Rivera family. Their assets of ten million have dwindled by almost half in just a short time. Vueravista is the most dominant business in our city, far beyond the league of smaller enterprises like the Riveras'. The Rivera family has basically been wiped out! Someone must be quite shrewd to exact this revenge on your behalf. Vincent's family had the audacity to ask him to come back and help them out. His busy schedule will keep him from bothering you any longer. I'm dying to hear your thoughts on this. Isn't it fantastic news? Are you thrilled? Justice came swiftly, and I feel like celebrating by setting off some fireworks for your vindication. How about we go for some Korean barbecue tonight? I'm craving it!" Her delight is evident as she beams from ear to ear.

I can't help but agree... I share her joy, and it makes me happy too. I mean, after all they put me through, didn't he deserve this after what they did to him?

"I don't think that's enough," the speaker remarked. Even though they were currently facing challenging times, simply relishing their good fortune didn't seem sufficient. "What if we send him a wreath?" A mischievous idea started to take shape in my mind, and I couldn't help but form the beginnings of a smile as I watched her.

Miaree responded with an "oh..." and a sly grin on her face.

"Just kidding," I quickly added. "Oh, right, I almost forgot. I need to dash off now. My stomach is starting to feel a bit uneasy. I need to use the restroom. Sorry for the inconvenience."

After saying that, I made a beeline for the women's restroom. But even before I reached the door, the cramps from my menstrual cycle began to surge. It was uncomfortable, to say the least. It felt as if someone were stabbing me mercilessly with a sharp instrument deep in my abdomen. Why did it have to happen right now? I wasn't prepared for this at all! Oh my goodness! Restroom! Restroom!

However, as I stood in front of the restroom door, a sign that read "Cleaning in Progress" blocked my path. Regardless, I had to hurry inside. The discomfort was becoming unbearable. I rushed in but came to an abrupt halt when I saw a guy and a girl passionately kissing in the stall next to mine in the women's restroom.

What on earth were they doing in here?!

I stepped back outside, but the guy immediately noticed me and asked, "Who are you?" My intention was to flee the scene as quickly as possible due to the sudden change of circumstances, but in my haste, I completely forgot the reason I had entered the restroom in the first place. However, he managed to catch up with me because I couldn't run too fast with these period cramps.

"Are you headed somewhere?" He cornered me against the wall, circling like a predator. The girl he had been kissing moments ago should really get away from him as fast as she could and never look back.

"What did you see?" He asked with utmost seriousness.

Wait a minute... I've seen him before... Oh my goodness! He's Nathan Zac Ramirez, the name that's known all over campus. I've heard rumors that his family is wealthy. Damn it! I would have probably escaped long ago if it weren't for this period. What should I do now? Have I landed myself in trouble?

He pounded his fist against the wall behind me, making me tremble with fear, and then he demanded, "I'll repeat the question... What did you see?"

I remained silent, my gaze fixed on the ground, swallowing hard. I began to quickly assess my options for escaping this situation. Should I punch him and then try to run? But... that's a really terrible idea! I'm so bad at this; I can't even kill a cockroach! Let me think, Kia... Think-

"I said, what did you see? Are you mute? Can't you speak? Why aren't you answering my question?" His anger was evident in his eyes.

He let out a deep breath, lowered his head, and closed his eyes as if trying to calm himself down. Should I take this opportunity to deliver a swift kick to his groin? Argh! No! What if it causes him excruciating pain? I definitely don't want to be responsible for that!

"I'm truly sorry... I was just curious about what was happening over there. I promise I won't do anything to harm you."

"I- I saw you kissing that girl..." I struggled to speak clearly.

"Then?"

That's all there is to it! I'm keeping my word, and that's what I saw. I've got my fingers crossed, and I swear on my heart!" I replied with crossed fingers, emphasizing my sincerity.

I attempted to pull away, but he firmly held my wrists. His gaze was deadly serious, and his expression remained stern. "What are you looking for? Name your price. In simple terms, just don't let anyone know about what you witnessed today."
