His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 98

Chapter 98

When she got off work in the afternoon, Annette went out and got into the car sent by Connor.

She thought that she was probably going back to Connor's villa.

However, she found that she was unfamiliar with the route. She asked the driver in confusion, "Where are we going?"

"Ms. Hall, Mr. Norman told me to take you to Tomie's studio."

The driver didn't know much, so Annette didn't ask more.

After arriving at the destination, Annette walked in. Tomie, the owner of the studio, said to Annette, "Ms. Hall, the dress is ready. I will help put on makeup for you to attend the banquet."

Annette sat down and took out her phone to call Connor.

Just as Connor picked up the phone, Annette said, "Connor, what the hell is going on? What banquet are you going to attend?"

"It's a family party. So, just dress up," Connor said.

"Don't you think you should tell me first?"

"What difference does it make? Anyway, whether you are willing to go or not, I will bring you there."

Annette hung up the phone with dissatisfaction.

Tomie took out the dress he had designed for Annette. It was a black satin dress, and its hem was inlaid with crystal glitter. The glitters would shine faintly, making the dress look like the tail of a mermaid.

"Ms. Hall, Mr. Norman picked the dress for you," Tomie said.

Annette asked Tomie in surprise, "Has he been here before?"

"Yes. Mr. Norman asked me to design the dress for you," Tomie nodded and said.

Annette changed into the dress and then the staff of the studio helped her to put on some make-up.

Then, she was sent to a residential area in the suburbs of Akron.

Connor had not arrived yet, so she just waited in the car.

A few minutes later, someone opened the door.

Annette turned around and saw Connor.

She got out of the car. Connor's eyes swept over her like a scanner, which upset her a little.

She frowned and said unhappily, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Connor leaned close to her ear and said, "I want to hide you and prevent anyone else from seeing you."

Annette had a curvy figure and looked good in any kind of dress.

She snorted. "You picked the dress. Don't mock me."

Connor poked her forehead gently with his finger. "What are you thinking about? I'm giving you a compliment."

Annette said, "You picked the dress. Even if I don't look good in it, you won't admit it."

"Why are you not confident in yourself? You look elegant in this dress."

Seeing the certainty in Connor's eyes, Annette blushed. She asked, "Where is this place?"

Connor put his arms around her waist and said, "The Giant Wood Pack. We are going to visit Randolph, my good friend Harrison's grandfather. Randolph is authoritative among the werewolves in Akron. He once left the pack and obtained a rank in the army."

He pressed the doorbell. Soon, someone came out and led them into the villa.

More than a dozen people were in the courtyard, chatting and drinking.

Annette did not know who Randolph was. She saw Lance and his family at a glance.

She was surprised at the sight of some people. Why were they here?

She turned to look at Connor.

Connor felt Annette's gaze and looked at her. "I don't know why they are here either."

Annette could tell from his expression that he didn't know about it indeed.

He hated the people of the Black Thorn Pack no less than her.

"Are we still going to stay here?"

"Yes. Mr. Fletcher invited me and has always been good to me." Connor's hand was wrapping around Annette's waist as he walked in.

Jessica walked over with a smile. She was wearing a pink strapless dress. The eye-catching puff sleeves and irregular hem are quite popular currently.

Because her dress was strapless, her bosoms seemed to jump out at any time.

  Annette felt disgusted.

However, Jessica smiled happily at them.

She looked at Annette and said, "Ann, you're here too. What a coincidence!"

"I don't think the Moon Goddess heard my prayers today," Annette said with a cold face.

Jessica didn't get angry and pretended not to mind it. She said, "Why are you so angry? I didn't say anything. Don't act like a child anymore. Alpha Connor will laugh at you."

She looked shyly at Connor and said, "Alpha Connor, long time no see."

Connor raised an eyebrow. "Have we met before?"

Annette lowered her head and almost laughed.

Connor did it on purpose. Definitely.

Jessica was a little embarrassed. "Alpha Connor, did you forget? Last time, we met at the club."

  "Really? I can't recall."

Jessica couldn't keep calm. She said hurriedly, "Ann was also there at that time, as well as Marcus. Is that right, Ann?"

Annette looked at Connor. "Is that so?"

Connor raised his eyebrows. "Don't ask me. I said I didn't remember."

Annette looked at Jessica. "Ms. Fisher, enjoy yourself. I won't disturb you any longer."

She then said to Connor, "I'm a little hungry."

"I'll take you to eat something."

They walked past Jessica and went to the long table.

Jessica turned around, her face full of anger.

Leslie walked to her and whispered, "What's going on? Why did you let them go?"

Jessica said unhappily, "It's all Annette's fault. She's been causing trouble."

"How dare that bitch ruin your plans. I won't forgive her."

Jessica looked at Leslie and said, "Look, Annette is leaning on Mr. Norman. How can I approach him?"

"Don't worry. We have to wait for a chance."

Jessica followed Leslie back to Lance angrily.

A few minutes later, Randolph came out of the villa.

Many guests went to greet him. Seeing that Connor didn't move, Annette was puzzled. "Aren't you going there?"

"Too many people are there now. Let's wait for a while. No need to be in a hurry," Connor said.
