His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 95

Chapter 95

Connor's words made Annette upset. She was unhappy since Connor didn't believe her. Now, she felt that Connor was making a big fuss over such a small issue.

Annette slightly raised her voice. She complained, "Connor, don't mess around. I can handle such a small matter. If you are unhappy about it, that is your problem. You'll have to deal with it yourself. You have no right to blame others for it. You are now having a scandal with Daphne. Will Daphne's fans have to fight you?"

"Are they capable enough to do so?" Connor snorted.

"You can do whatever you want just because you're powerful, right?" Annette looked displeased. "You're obviously the one who messed it up."

Annette somehow accused him. Connor was annoyed, and his expression was also displeased.

"You said that Daphne has nothing to do with you, and the rumors about you and her have been everywhere, yet none of you has stood out to clarify it. People may think that you have admitted that you are in a relationship. So, for those men who adore Daphne, why can't they curse you?"

Annette said righteously, and then Connor raised his eyebrows.

His sullen face suddenly changed and revealed a smile.

He leaned closer to her and said, "Annette, are you not jealous?"

"I am just stating facts," Annette turned her head and said.

"Good." Connor nodded. "You can continue to deny it."

"I was never jealous," Annette said through gritted teeth. "You were being unreasonable. I was just defending myself."

Connor looked at her with a doting smile. He took out his phone and made a call.

"Rex, tell your public relations department to clarify my relationship with Daphne."

  Annette's eyes widened in surprise.

She told him that she wasn't jealous.

After hanging up the phone, Connor called Hari.

"Get someone to make a statement that I have nothing to do with Daphne. If the media spread the rumors again, I will sue them to protect my interests."

After that, Connor smiled at Annette and asked, "Do you know why I didn't clarify the rumors before?"

  "Of course not," Annette said.

"There are two reasons. First, I made a deal with Rex. He used my identity to help Daphne gain popularity. In return, Daphne would be the spokesperson for the products from my company for free. Second, I want to see you jealous. But now, don't worry. I don't even know Daphne."

Annette said disdainfully, "You don't know her? You have been to Hawaii with her, right?"

"Since you care so much about it, I will explain it to you. I have never been to Hawaii with Daphne. Instead, I went there on my own. I found out that she went to Hawaii on the same flight as me after reading the news. Moreover, she seemed to be staying in the same hotel as me. However, during that time, I never had any contact with her. I learned about everything from the news, just like you."

Annette said stubbornly, "I will say it one last time. I am not jealous."

"Okay. You are not jealous. I am. I am unhappy when others approach you."

Annette glared at him. She stood up and said, "I want to eat. I'm starving."

Connor smiled and called Dwayne back.

The next day, when Annette was about to get off work at noon, Lance called her.

Annette saw Lance's number on the screen and knew his purpose.

However, she couldn't just keep avoiding him.

Therefore, she picked up the phone.

"Come to the Fisher Group. I have something to tell you."

"I don't want to see you."

"You'd better come, or I will send someone to Werewolf University to bring you here. I don't intend to make things difficult for you," Lance threatened her with a cold voice.

Annette clenched her fist. A moment later, she said calmly, "What can I expect from a despicable person like you? I'll save time arguing with you. I'll get there myself. Anyway, I also have something to tell you."

Annette hung up the phone. She went back to her office to fetch her bag and said to Sara, "Sara, I'm sorry. I can't have lunch with you today. I have to go out for a while."

After she left the school, she took a taxi to the Fisher Group.

She wanted to go straight upstairs but was stopped.

After a few minutes, Annette was allowed to go up.

This was the second time she visited the Fisher Group.

The last time she came was five years ago. At that time, her mother was suffering from a serious depression. Annette was at a loss, so she turned to Lance for help.

But that day, she suffered a blow.

  Father...

She would rather have no father.

She followed a secretary, and then entered Lance's office.

It looked the same as five years ago.

Before Lance could say something, Annette walked over and sat down on the sofa.

Lance got up and left the desk. He sat down on the other side of the sofa.

  "I saw the photos."

He went straight to the point.

Annette did not mind it. After all, she didn't come here to chat with him.

  "So?"

"Are you going to be so stubborn? I've been trying to talk you through. Can't you just listen to me once? Isn't it better to leave Connor, leave Akron, and go far away?"

Annette sneered. "In this world, he is the only one who treats me well. I can finally rely on someone. Why should I leave? If you were me, would you leave such a good man and go down a lonely path?

"I thought you would understand me at this point. Back then, to become the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack, you abandoned my mother. You know how to weigh the pros and cons. This is probably the only good point I have inherited from you."
