His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 60

Chapter 60

In the evening, Annette returned home alone.

She planned to order a pizza.

At nine o'clock in the evening, just as Annette was about to go to bed, she suddenly felt a pain in her stomach.

She rubbed her stomach and still felt uncomfortable.

Suddenly, she felt nauseated, so she quickly ran to the bathroom.

She suffered from vomiting and diarrhea all night, and in the end, she felt tightness in her chest and dizziness.

  Unfortunately, she wasn't getting better.

At ten o'clock, her phone rang.

She turned around weakly and picked up the phone.

  "Are you asleep?" Connor asked.

  "Not yet," Annette replied weakly.

"Why do you sound so strange?"

"Nothing. I'm just a bit sleepy. I was about to sleep."

After she finished speaking, she felt nauseated again.

Not wanting him to notice anything, she simply hung up and ran into the bathroom.

Then Annette lay on the bed. She felt cramps in her stomach, so she rolled over and curled herself into a ball.

  The pain was killing her.

  Suddenly, the doorbell rang rapidly.

Annette turned her head slightly toward the door.

She thought, 'Who could come at this time?'

She ignored it at first, but her phone rang.

She picked it up and glanced at the screen. It was Connor again.

And then she picked up the phone.

  Connor said, "Open the door."

"Is that you at the door?" Annette asked.

"What do you think? Do many people know about this place? Open the door now."

Annette slowly got up, went to the door, and opened it.

Connor, who was at the door, couldn't help but frown when he saw her pale and haggard face.

"What's going on? Are you sick? You don't look good to me," Connor said.

Werewolves were much stronger and healed much faster than humans.

Annette made Connor a little worried.

She looked at him and said, "I think I've eaten the wrong food."

"Then why are you still here? I'll take you to the hospital." After he finished speaking, he picked her up directly, not giving her a chance to speak at all.

Annette was utterly weak. She figured that she was no match for Connor when she had strength anyway, so she simply let him do as he wanted.

Connor took her to the hospital. After the doctor checked on her, he said it was gastroenteritis.

Annette was already lying on the bed in the ward, asleep while on a drip.

The last two hours had put her through the wringer.

Connor sat by the bed and looked at Annette. Seeing that she had fallen asleep, he picked up her phone and browsed it.

He found her pizza order for the day and took a photo with his phone to save it.

Looking at her sleeping face, he got up slightly and pecked her cheek.

After more than an hour, Annette's stomach growled. She opened her eyes and got up to go to the bathroom.

Connor was sleeping on the sofa next to hers, so she walked carefully.

  Yet Connor still woke up.

Watching her get out of bed, he stood up and said, "Why are you out of bed?"

She blushed. "I need to go to the bathroom."

  "I'll go with you."

Annette quickly shook her head. "Please. I prefer to go alone."

"There's no need to be shy. I've seen you naked."

Annette rolled her eyes at him and said, "Still, I can manage it myself."

Holding the IV bag up in one hand, she walked to the bathroom.

  Connor sighed.

He thought, 'She doesn't have to act tough all the time. Doesn't she know that?'

Early the next morning, Dwayne brought breakfast to the ward.

Annette looked at Connor. She was very touched and said, "Thank you for bringing me to the hospital last night, taking care of me all night, and having Dwayne prepare breakfast this morning."

"Sounds like I've done a lot. Don't I deserve some reward?" Connor immediately said.

As he spoke, he got up from the sofa, walked in front of her, and bent down slightly. Then he pointed at his cheek.

Connor said, "Words mean nothing to me. Show your gratitude with actions."

Thinking of the way he kissed her overbearingly each time, Annette leaned forward and was about to kiss him on the cheek.

Yet at the same time, Connor felt her breathing, so he quickly turned his face.

As a result, her lips landed right on his.

Annette was startled and wanted to pull her head back.

However, he pressed the back of her head and deepened the kiss.

"Why do you always lie to me?" Annette sounded a little mad.

Connor was in a good mood. He looked at Annette and said, "This is to make you remember. Be on guard against all men but me."

  Annette felt so upset.

Connor stroked her head and said, "Dwayne will stay here with you. I have to go to work now. I'll see you at noon."

"But I haven't asked for leave yet," It suddenly occurred to Annette, so she said quickly.

Then she took out her phone, pulled out Amanda's number, and called Amanda to ask for a leave.

Hanging up the phone, she looked at Connor and asked, "Aren't you leaving?"

Connor shook his head. "How come I feel I don't matter to you?"

Annette said unhappily, "If you want to be taken seriously, go somewhere else."

Connor smiled and said, "All werewolves like to hunt. The more difficult it is to conquer, the more fun it is."

She glared at him and asked, "What are you saying? That I am your prey?"

Connor smiled and said, "Not at all. You are my treasure."

After that, he turned and left.

  Annette did not buy it.

She figured that Alina was his treasure.

When Annette woke up, it was already one in the afternoon.

She was woken up by hunger.

Dwayne brought lunch, and Connor ate first.

Seeing Connor, Annette asked in surprise, "Why are you back?"

"It can be very sad and lonely when you're in the hospital without someone close to you."

Annette felt warm when she heard his words.

  What he said was true.

And she was very grateful to him.

  Yet she wouldn't admit it.

She pretended that she didn't care and said, "Who is close to you? Not me anyway."

"Is there anyone in the world closer to you than I am?"

Annette blushed instantly. She sat up, grabbed a pillow, and threw it at him.

However, she was so weak, and therefore the pillow hit the ground and didn't reach him.

She was deliberately acting tough, which made her look like a pissed kitten. Connor couldn't help but laugh softly.

He thought, 'She is probably the only person in the world who can make me laugh like this.'
