His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 261

Chapter 261

  Lucas stared at Connor.

Connor ignored Lucas' rage and said, "Because Alina doesn't love you at all. Although you have been together for a long time, you are clear about where her heart lies, and you must have suspected the relationship between me and her. In the past, I didn't want to hurt you. Now, I find that I don't like her as much as I thought. The woman I love is Annette, and I don't want to hurt her. I have told Alina honestly about my affection for Annette. I have also warned Alina more than once to keep her distance from me and not to do anything that will hurt you and Annette, but she still insists on doing it her way. I am sorry about the loss of your child, but it has nothing to do with Annette."

Lucas's face looked grim as he asked, "Why should I believe Annette?"

Connor stood up and said, "Lucas, I know you love Alina and trust her. But your trust, in my opinion, is ridiculous. You are so smart. Can't you think it through? Annette knows about my past relationship with Alina, and no one wants Alina to keep her child more than she does. Because Annette believes that after the child is born, Alina will no longer be able to focus on me. Love is beautiful, yet it shouldn't cloud your judgment. Do you know how annoying you are when you act unreasonably?"

  Lucas closed his eyes.

After Connor finished his words, the anger in his heart still hadn't dissipated.

He turned around, with his back facing Lucas.

"If you couldn't control your emotions, then I wouldn't care about your feelings anymore. Lucas, your woman needs your protection, and my woman needs my trust. I won't let her be wronged, and even if it's you, I won't forgive you. In the future, if you want to see me, you must call me in advance. Otherwise, I won't let you in."

After that, Connor turned to the driver and ordered, "Take Lucas back to the hospital."

  "Yes, Alpha Connor."

Connor looked at Lucas for a moment and then went back to the villa.

Connor looked angry, but Annette smiled.

She poured him a glass of water and asked, "Did you have a fight with Lucas?"

  "What do you think?"

"I guess your conversation wasn't too pleasant. As for who won and who lost, I can't tell."

Connor snorted and said, "Well, I never lose."

Annette gave him a thumbs up. "You are amazing. But since you won, why are you still so angry?"

Connor put down the glass and said, "Lucas used to be a very wise person. I am sad to see him become so confused now."

Annette shrugged and said, "So you never suspected that it was the person you trusted who had caused the problem?"

Connor asked with some confusion, "I suspect you?"

"Yeah. Have you ever doubted that I pushed Alina?"

Connor shook his head and smiled, "I never doubted you. I trust you, so you don't have to test me."

"No, I'm not." Annette's face turned slightly red.

Lucas returned to the hospital. Just as he came to the doorway, the nurse walked out.

The nurse carried the breakfast out. Lucas asked coldly, "Did she not eat again?"

The nurse nodded hesitantly and said, "I tried my best, but Ms. Grace refused to eat."

Lucas pushed open the door and pressed the button on the wheelchair. The wheelchair moved forward.

When she heard the sound at the door, Alina turned her head to take a glance.

She saw it was Lucas, and her eyes dimmed. She looked away and gazed out the window again.

Lucas took a deep breath and asked gently, "Why didn't you have breakfast?"

"I didn't want to eat. Can you please stop bothering me?" Alina said unhappily. "Can't you let me be alone?"

"You are hurting yourself, you know that?"

"Yeah, so?" Alina looked at Lucas.

Lucas laughed coldly in anger. He waved his hand at the people behind him and said, "Everyone, out."

  Then, everyone left the room.

Lucas's cold voice rang out. "I know who you are waiting for, but it is useless. He won't come because he believes that you are lying."

"I didn't lie," Alina sat up. Then, due to the pain in her belly, she lay back down again.

Lucas frowned and said, "You didn't want to have this child from the beginning. Later, you changed your mind because Connor threatened you. I know you never wanted to have a child with me."

"Lucas, what do you mean? Do you blame me for killing my child on purpose?"

"Alina, perhaps others don't know what kind of person you are, but I do. I always stood by your side because I knew you disliked Annette and I promised to protect you. So, even though I knew you did something wrong, I still defended you. However, it doesn't mean I'm a fool."

  Alina clenched the blanket.

Lucas lowered his gaze and gave a sarcastic smile. "Why?"

Alina turned her head away. "I don't know what you are talking about."

"Why be so cruel? Are you happy killing your own child? Or are you just trying to use the child to destroy someone's family?"

Alina looked sad and didn't speak.

Lucas shook his head in pain and regret. "I even thought of a name for the child, but you used him as a pawn to destroy someone else's marriage. What's even more ridiculous is that you failed. In the end, only my child was sacrificed!"

  Lucas roared.

  "Alina, you are a devil!"
