His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 255

Chapter 255

"If I didn't participate, how could Judica have a chance to break the law?"

  His words made Annette anxious.

"Connor, have you lost your mind?"

  "Why?"

"How could you put yourself in danger because of Judica?"

Annette sounded worried, which made him happy.

"You couldn't do such a thing. I didn't want you to become a bad person for me. What exactly did you do? Is there any chance to make it up?"

Connor couldn't bear to see Annette worried, so he smiled.

Annette stomped her foot in anger and said, "Stop laughing. Tell me what you've done."

She was really afraid that Connor would get into trouble because of her.

Connor said, "Are you so worried about me?"

"Connor," Annette sighed, "I'm not joking with you."

"Well, don't worry, I'm not that stupid. Why would I put myself in trouble for someone like Judica? I just had Woody set a trap for me and made Judica fall into it. If she didn't have those bad thoughts, then she wouldn't be caught. So, she should blame herself for it."

"So, neither you nor Woody will be implicated, right?"

  "That's right."

Annette breathed a sigh of relief, then she said in a mad tone, "Why did you scare me just now?"

Connor smirked. "I enjoy watching you behave like that. Annette, you have to admit that I'm getting more important to you, right?"

Annette didn't stop walking, but she walked slowly.

  "Connor."

  "Yeah?"

"We lived together for almost a year, right?"

"If we count from the first time we slept together, it should be ten and a half months. Why do you ask? Is it so difficult for you to admit that you care about me?"

Annette didn't know that Connor remembered the time they first met.

In comparison, she felt a little ashamed.

"I used to think that it might take a long time to get to know someone, but you changed my mind. At first, I didn't want to be with you. But now I'm honored."

Just like the first time he was praised, Connor was filled with happiness.

"So, you admit that I am important?"

Annette felt a little embarrassed and thought, 'Didn't I make it clear just now? Do I need to speak it out aloud?'

  "Just say it."

"Yes, you are very important to me," Annette said shyly. "I need to go back to work now."

  She hung up the phone.

After finishing work in the afternoon, Annette returned to the Blood Moon Pack. Several servants were chatting in the yard, but they stopped when they saw her.

After entering the living room, she asked Dwayne, "Did anything happen today? I just saw the servants talking in the yard and their expressions were a bit strange."

Dwayne said, "Ms. Grace was in a bad mood today. When she was throwing things around, she accidentally hit a servant. I have already reminded everyone not to talk about it again."

After a moment of hesitation, Annette asked, "Did anyone offend Alina?"

Dwayne said, with his usual serious expression, "I'm not sure. Maybe she didn't like the food they prepared for her."

Annette felt strange. Alina always acted kind in front of people.

Why did her attitude change so much today?

This had nothing to do with Annette, and she didn't think much about it.

She thought that she didn't need to deal with Alina for a while.

But Annette forgot that besides Connor and Lucas, there was Marcus.

On Friday afternoon, Annette received a call from Marcus.

"Annette, will you go out with me tonight?"

  "What were you talking about?"

Marcus frowned and said, "I helped you so much, but you didn't even invite me to dinner to show your gratitude."

Annette thought for a moment and realized that Marcus had indeed helped her a lot.

"I don't care about the favor you owed me before. This time, I really need your help. If you don't come, I will be mad at you."

Marcus hung up the phone as soon as he finished speaking.

Annette chuckled as she heard the busy tone on the other end of the phone. Marcus was still so childish.

She called Connor and told him that she was going to have dinner with Marcus tonight.

Connor didn't ask more and only asked her to get home early.

After work, Annette came to the restaurant according to the text message sent by Marcus.

She entered the restaurant and the waiter led her the way. It was then that she realized that the meal Marcus had invited her to was not ordinary.

  "Annette, you were so punctual."

Marcus got up and pulled the chair for Annette.

Alina smiled and greeted Annette, "Ms. Hall."

Annette said coldly, "I didn't expect you to be here."

  Alina looked at Marcus.

Marcus immediately said, "Annette, I have already ordered. Do you need to add any dishes?"

Annette glanced at him and then said, "No need. I'll eat whatever you ordered."

She asked, "Why did you ask me to come out with Alina today?"

Marcus scratched his head with a smile and said, "It's nothing. I just wanted to have a meal with you guys."

Annette raised her eyebrows and said, "You haven't been to school for three days. I thought you were busy, but it turns out I was just overthinking."

"I promise you that after this week, I will go back to school, okay?"

Annette said, "I will believe you one more time."

Alina felt very uncomfortable when she saw how close Annette and Marcus were.

Marcus and Alina were once very close.

What was so special about Annette? She made both Connor and Marcus care about her so much.

Alina looked at Marcus and smiled. "Marcus, let's have dinner."

Marcus asked the waiter to bring the food.

As soon as the dishes were served, he said, "I left something at the bar. You guys go ahead and eat, I need to go to the bar. I'll be back soon."

Annette looked at Marcus and knew he did it on purpose.

Alina nodded and said, "OK. Be back soon, or we'll finish all the food."

  Marcus got up and left.

There were only Annette and Alina left at the dining table.

Annette picked up her glass indifferently and took a sip.

Alina's gentle expression suddenly changed, and she looked at Annette with malice in her eyes.

Annette put down her glass and looked directly at Alina.

"You asked Marcus to invite me here, right?"

The gentleness on Alina's face was gone.

"Actually, I have a question for you. Do you think you can bully me?"

Annette was not afraid of Alina. She said, "Lucas is your mate, no one will bully you."

"I always put up with you, but why do you have to hurt me all the time?"
