Chapter 247
Chapter 247
Being tempted by Connor, Annette began to struggle.
She didn't know whether she should refuse or accept him at the moment.
Connor could always find a way to conquer her.
He whispered promises into her ear and made her tempted.
He kept ensuring that he would be gentle.
In fact, he was indeed gentle.
For Connor, it was something he had been anticipating eagerly and proof that he had finally won Annette's heart.
Today was the happiest day of his life.
Annette, however, only felt shy.
Connor hugged her, his hands and feet rubbing against her body.
Soon, Annette was much more awake.
She grabbed her clothes and sat up.
Connor asked, "Where are you going?"
Annette blushed and dared not look at him. "Take a bath."
She got up quickly and walked to the bathroom.
Connor couldn't help but smile. He loved the way she blushed every time.
In the bathroom, Annette stared at herself in the mirror, feeling regret.
Fortunately, it was winter now. Otherwise, how could she face others tomorrow with these love bites on her neck?
Why did Connor like leaving marks on her body so much?
When Annette went out of the bathroom, Connor was watching TV.
Annette blushed and said, "I'm done."
"You're blushing."
Annette glared at him.
"It's the most common thing between couples. You're mine and I'm yours. You don't have to be shy."
Annette jumped on the bed and put her hand firmly over Connor's mouth. "Shut up."
Connor turned his head and avoided her hand, pulling her into his arms. "Are you trying to kill me?"
Annette said, "Then stop talking nonsense. Go to sleep. I want to watch TV for a while."
"Together."
"Didn't you just say that there's nothing worth watching?"
"I want to keep you company. The show is lame but you make me happy."
Annette looked up at Connor's lips and asked, "Did you smear honey on your mouth?"
Connor lowered his head and kissed her on the lips.
Annette quickly shifted her gaze to the television, avoiding his eyes.
Even so, Connor continued to do what he longed for that night.
Sure enough, once a person took the first step, the next one would be much easier.
The next day, the noise outside woke Annette up.
Before she could react, Connor turned over and pressed her down.
Both of them were not wearing clothes, so their posture was particularly awkward.
"Happy New Year," Annette gulped nervously.
"I've got a New Year's gift for you. Did you get me one?"
New Year's gift?
Annette felt guilty because she did not prepare any gifts.
"You didn't tell me that I had to prepare it, so..."
"Alright then. You'll be my gift."
Connor lowered his head to kiss Annette joyfully. However, before she could resist, the door suddenly opened from outside.
Marcus's voice sounded next. "Happy New Year!"
Connor quickly covered Annette with a blanket and turned to shout at Marcus, "Get out!"
Marcus closed the door and said, "Okay."
He closed the door and ran downstairs as quickly as he could.
Annette curled up in her blanket, feeling embarrassed.
Connor pulled the blanket, but Annette refused to let go.
He smiled, "He's gone. Come out."
Annette's voice was full of frustration, "It's all your fault. It's so embarrassing. I hate you, Connor."
Connor chuckled and said, "It's okay. You were under the blank. He couldn't see you."
"Even if he didn't see me, you were pressing me. He is not a fool."
Connor hugged her with an affectionate smile. "It's okay. Get out of the blanket."
Annette felt so embarrassed.
Connor patted her on the back and said, "Don't worry, I'll go downstairs and beat him up to take it out on him."
When Connor and Annette went downstairs together, Marcus was still there, holding up his hands high to indicate surrender.
"Connor, Annette, Happy New Year! I swear, I didn't mean it."
Annette blushed.
Connor said, "Shut your mouth."
He wanted to beat Marcus up because he ruined his morning with Annette.
Marcus said calmly, "You can't blame me. Who would have thought you would be so energetic early in the morning?"
Connor snorted and said, "You don't understand. The morning is the best time."
Annette raised her hand and pinched his arm.
Marcus saw the scene and felt that Annette was awesome. She pinched Connor, yet Connor still laughed.
They had breakfast together before setting off for camping.
As Annette went camping for the first time, Marcus offered to be her guide.
Annette looked around and turned back to Marcus. "This is such a nice place."
"It's even nicer in spring with all types of flowers blooming," Marcus said. "Just ask Connor to bring you here a few months later. I'm sure you'll love it."
Annette turned back and smiled at Connor.
Connor put his arm around her shoulder and said, "It seems that we have to add another item to our date schedule."
"I have no objection."
Alina took a few steps and refused to listen to those sweet words.
Each person had a separate tent. After resting for a while, someone called Annette from outside her tent.
It was Alina. So Annette said coldly, "Ms. Grace, what's the matter?"
Alina didn't care about Annette's indifferent attitude and said, "Ms. Hall, let's go for a walk outside."
Annette looked around and asked, "Are you alone?"
"Yes. You know, Lucas can't walk."
"Then let's wait for Connor."
"Alright. Then I'll go by myself first," Alina took two steps forward before turning back as if she remembered something. "Oh, by the way. Ms. Hall, I need to remind you that this is a family trip, so you'd better pay attention to your behavior."
Annette smiled, "Thanks. I'll keep that in mind."
Alina raised her eyebrows and said, "Don't get me wrong. I'll go first."
Not long after Alina left, Connor came to Annette.
As they were walking, they came across Alina not far ahead.
Alina asked, "Ms. Hall, we will pray to the Moon Goddess this time every year. I pray that everything in the Blood Moon Pack will go well. What about you?"
Annette whispered in a voice that only Alina could hear, "I am a selfish person. I prayed that Connor and I would always be so in love."
Alina's face changed, and she nodded awkwardly. "Sure."
Annette added, "I also hope that your life with Lucas will be blissful."
Alina looked at Annette coldly and her voice became much lower. She said, "Well, just mind your own business."
Annette looked innocent and said, "Oh, are you mad? I'm sorry. I thought it was a kind gesture. Don't get me wrong. Ms. Grace, I believe that you understand my good intentions. Otherwise, I'll apologize to you, although I don't think I have done anything wrong."
Alina's face turned cold, and she held her breath in anger.
She never thought that Annette would be so troublesome and use the words she had said before to counterattack her.
In Alina's eyes, Annette was indeed a scheming woman.
Alina grabbed Annette's wrist.
Annette stopped and asked, "Is there anything else, Ms. Grace?"
Alina walked up to Annette. At that moment, Connor and Marcus heard Annette's voice and turned back.
Alina raised her hand and swore.
"I, Alina, swear to the Moon Goddess that if I revealed Annette's identity intentionally at that time, I would die immediately."
Annette remained silent as Connor approached and asked, "Alina, what are you doing?"
Tears began to well up in Alina's eyes. She looked at Connor and said, "What do you think, Connor? Ms. Hall and you both know why I did those things. The crisis you were facing was resolved. Why do you still blame me for it? Maybe my love life hasn't been smooth, but I haven't done anything wrong. How long are you going to hate me for that?"
Seeing Alina was about to cry, Marcus walked over and asked, "What's wrong, Alina? Don't cry."
Alina said to Annette, "You know that my previous relationship was a lifetime pain for me. Why do you use it to hurt me? Ms. Hall, you are a kind person. But why do you hurt me again and again?"
As she spoke, she wiped her tears and ran away.
Marcus watched Alina leave. Then, she turned to Annette and asked, "Annette, what did you say to Alina? How did you make her cry?"
Annette said with a serious expression, "I didn't make her cry."
She then walked away.
Marcus turned to Connor and said, "Connor, I'll check on Alina. She's pregnant, and you know that."
"Go ahead." Connor caught up with Annette quickly.
"Annette."
Annette ignored him.
Connor reached out and grabbed her wrist.
Annette stopped. She turned around and glared at him, "Connor, don't try to blame me. You'll regret it if you do."
