His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 246

Chapter 246

Connor pressed Annette's head on his shoulder and said, "Stop looking at me, or I'm about to do something to you. I have been trying to restrain myself."

Annette averted her gaze quickly and watched the movie obediently, not daring to move.

It was only four o'clock after they watched the movie.

"Shall we watch another one?" Connor asked.

Annette shook her head and said, "Watching movies at home all day is boring."

"What do you want to do? I'll go with you. I'm happy as long as I'm with you."

Annette was moved and came up with a mischievous idea. She asked, "Really?"

"Why would I lie to you?"

Annette got up from bed and said, "Let's go."

Connor asked, "Where are you going?"

"I always spend Christmas alone. I've been hoping that someone will show up and spend the holiday with me, and we can cook together. Well, now, there you are."

Connor shook his head and smiled. He would accompany Annette to do anything as long as she wanted to.

  He went downstairs with her.

The three servants in the kitchen had almost prepared everything needed.

Annette looked at the ingredients and said, "Now, you're all on vacation. Go home and spend the holiday with your families."

The three servants turned to look at Connor.

Connor asked, "Are you sure you can handle it alone?"

"Don't underestimate me. I can do it."

Connor didn't want Annette to cook while pregnant, yet she seemed to be passionate about it.

To make her happy, Connor asked Dwayne to give the three servants a break.

That afternoon, Annette cooked in the kitchen while humming a song.

From time to time, she would ask Connor to fetch things for her.

Although Connor was not familiar with the ingredients, he was cooperative.

When Connor came out of the kitchen, he saw Dwayne with a smile on his face and he had been kept outside of the kitchen.

Connor closed the kitchen door and asked in a low voice, "Do I look funny?"

"No, Alpha Connor. You looked more domestic while staying with Luna."

Connor snorted and said, "Are you making fun of me?"

"You are different now and you're getting warmer. The cold and powerful Alpha Connor has become a tender husband."

Hearing Dwayne's words, Connor curled his lips into a smile.

It was the power of love.

Love was nothing but two lonely people finding the right companion for their path together.

With mutual support, they could go through any kind of difficulties together and enjoy the scenery during their life journey.

Connor turned around and looked toward the direction of the kitchen. He was grateful that he had found the woman he loved, and he was willing to change for her.

Dinner was more fun than everyone expected.

Alina was envious as she heard that Annette prepared all the food herself.

"Ms. Hall, will you teach me how to cook someday?"

Annette waved her hand coldly and said, "Well, I don't think I can teach people how to cook. Maybe I'll ask our chef to teach you. You are so smart, and I believe you will surely learn better than me."

After she finished her words, she said to Dwayne, "Come on, join us for dinner."

Dwayne shook his head and said, "No, Luna. I shouldn't dine with you. It's not my place to do so."

Connor also said, "Listen to your Luna and sit with us."

"Thank you, Alpha Connor and Luna."

Everyone at home gathered around the table. Marcus proposed to play a game together.

Seeing that no one paid attention to him, he said, "Let's play the simplest game of luck."

Marcus took out a paper container and said, "There are five sticks inside, two written with zero, one with one, one with two, and one with three. We'll drink as many glasses of wine as the number on the stick we draw. Dwayne doesn't have to play, but Alina and Annette have to. You can ask Lucas and Connor to drink for you. How about that?"

Alina laughed and said, "Lucas and Connor will get drunk."

"Well, it's Christmas. It's fine to get drunk."

Everyone remained silent, and Marcus was somewhat disappointed. "I prepared for half a day, you guys would support me, right?"

Annette clapped her hands and said, "I'm in."

Anyway, she didn't need to drink. She hoped to get Connor drunk so she could capture his embarrassing moments.

So she could use the photos to mock Connor.

Alina laughed and said, "Ms. Hall, you're spoiling Marcus."

"Come on, it will be fun. What do you think, Connor?"

"Let's play. Those who can't afford to lose can choose not to play."

Connor called the shot and the game began.

However, to avoid any mishaps, Alina asked Dwayne to replace the wine glasses with smaller ones.

Sometimes, Annette felt that she was not suitable for making wishes.

She had never been lucky in the past, but she actually drew zero three times in a row.

Just as she was feeling frustrated, the situation took a turn for the better.

Annette apologized but looked smugly at Connor as he was drinking.

After a few rounds, Connor's face flushed.

Alina said with concern, "They've had enough to drink, so let's call it a stop for the game. What do you think, Ms. Hall?"

Annette had achieved her goal, so she said, "I agree."

After dinner, Lucas said he wanted to rest, so he and Alina left first.

Dwayne sent Marcus home since he was drunk.

After they left, Annette walked to the sofa and sat down to turn on the TV.

Connor came over and stared at her face.

Annette leaned back and said nervously, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Did you lose the game on purpose just now?"

Annette felt guilty but put on an innocent face. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"You enjoyed yourself while I was drinking for you."

Annette moved a bit further from him and said, "No, I didn't."

Connor pinched her chin and said, "Look into my eyes and tell me that you didn't have any bad intentions just now."

Connor must be a mind reader.

Annette gulped and tried to stay calm. "I didn't have any bad intentions. I didn't want to lose, okay?"

"If so, why are you afraid to look into my eyes?"

"Because I want to watch TV," Annette said and turned to the television.

Connor drank a lot but he wasn't drunk.

Although he didn't know what Annette was happy about when she saw him drinking, he could be sure that she was planning something.

Her guilty conscience confirmed that he didn't guess wrong.

A few minutes later, Dwayne came back.

"Alpha Connor, Marcus is home now. He was a little drunk, so I let him rest first."

Connor snorted and said, "He deserves it for coming up with such a game."

"Do I need to go to Lucas and Ms. Grace and check on them?"

"It's OK. Isn't there someone on duty over there? Let them handle it themselves."

  "Okay."

Connor rubbed his forehead and said, "You've had a long day. Go rest. We'll be fine. You don't need to worry about anything here."

  "OK."

After Dwayne left, Connor said, "Do you want to go upstairs and watch TV in bed, so you can go to sleep when you get tired?"

Annette nodded and got up to go back to the room with him.

Lying on the bed, Connor seemed a bit tired.

Annette knew he drank a lot today, so she said, "If you're tired, just take a nap."

The only regret was that Annette failed to get him drunk completely and to watch him embarrass himself after that.

  "How about you?"

Annette was still in high spirits and said, "I want to watch TV. I watch it every year."

"Is there anything special from usual?"

Annette shrugged and said, "It's just a habit. I used to watch it with Sharon. Then, I watched it alone."

Connor raised his hand and touched her head and said, "Come here."

Annette smiled. "I loved being around Sharon. But, she left me."

Connor pulled her into his arms and said gently, "You have me now. I will never let you be alone. I will always be by your side."

Annette was deeply moved by his words.

She nestled in Connor's arms and looked up at him.

Connor's expression was serious and sincere, more so than at any other time.

They met each other's eyes, in which the affection began to spread.

Connor lowered his head slightly and kissed Annette's lips.

The smell of alcohol in his mouth permeated into hers, but she felt good about it.

Annette wrapped her arms around Connor's neck, and for Connor, it seemed to be a signal that she accepted what he was doing.

The temperature of the room began to rise.
