His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 244

Chapter 244

On Christmas Eve, only three servants were left on duty at Connor's villa, and the rest were on holiday.

Therefore, the lively villa appeared particularly quiet.

During breakfast, Marcus went to Connor's place because the only chef was there today.

Before having breakfast, he gave Annette a gift.

Annette took the gift under Connor's sharp gaze and asked, "What is this?"

"Baby clothes. I prepared the same gifts for both you and Alina's babies."

Connor shifted his gaze when he heard that.

Annette smiled, "Connor bought a whole cabinet of baby clothes in advance."

"This one was different. After I customized it, I found a designer to paint the pattern and embroider it. They were unique with the babies' names on them."

Annette opened the box and took out baby clothes.

It was indeed unique, with beautiful cherry blossoms embroidered on the chest and her name on the hem.

She got up and tidied the clothes, saying, "Thank you, Marcus. That's so thoughtful. I like it very much."

Connor sneered. "It's not that it was only given to you."

"Lucas, the clothes for Luna's baby and Alina's baby are different. I consider them both unique."

Annette sat down, took a sip of milk, and asked, "What's different?"

"The patterns on the clothes are different."

Connor mocked. "You are really good at kissing up to them."

"Connor, can't you stop mocking me? Wasn't my gift a goodwill gesture? Am I right, Luna?"

Annette nodded in agreement and said to Connor, "That's right."

Connor glared at her and said, "Enjoy your breakfast."

Annette lowered her head and chuckled, thinking that sometimes he acted like a child.

At noon, Alina slowly pushed Lucas over. She also received the baby clothes sent by Marcus.

At that time, Marcus was lounging on the sofa playing games.

Annette leaned against Connor as they watched a movie together.

Marcus saw Alina and Lucas come in. He was so busy that he only glanced at them and stood up to greet them, "Lucas, Alina."

Lucas looked at Annette with an unpleasant expression on his face.

Alina pushed Lucas to the sofa and sat next to Annette. She looked at the screen and said, "What a coincidence. This old movie is also my favorite."

Annette didn't feel good in her heart. Connor had just said that he thought the movie was good, and Alina said the same thing.

Upon hearing Alina's words, Marcus, who was fully focused on playing games, raised his head and glanced at Connor and Annette.

When Connor was picking a movie just now, Marcus also heard Connor say that he liked the movie.

Alina turned to Lucas and said, "It's a nice move."

Lucas nodded, and his voice softened as he said to her, "Well, then enjoy it."

"What about you? If you feel bored, shall I take you over there to bask in the sun?"

  "No, I'll stay with you."

Alina smiled and then turned to the TV.

Annette felt more and more uncomfortable at the moment. She thought about leaving, but she was unwilling to do so.

She didn't do anything wrong, so there was no reason for her to avoid Alina and Lucas.

After watching for more than ten minutes, Alina turned to Annette and said, "The female lead was about to die, and the male lead was in grief, never marrying for the rest of his life."

Annette frowned and said to Alina, "Ms. Grace, it's better not to spoil the plot while watching a movie."

"Sorry," Alina covered her mouth with her hand and said apologetically, "I've watched this movie too many times. I always got moved, so I couldn't help but speak out."

After that, she looked at Connor and said, "Connor, you're amazing. How did you manage to keep quiet about a movie whose ending you already knew?"

Annette was angry and wondered, 'Did they watch the movie together before?'

With such a thought, she became even more upset.

She leaned back and snuck her hand around Connor's waist.

Connor turned around and looked at Annette.

  Annette rolled her eyes.

Connor was still looking at her when she shook her head deliberately and said, "My neck hurts. Can I lean on your shoulder for a while?"

Connor reached out his right hand and pressed Annette's head onto his left shoulder, continuing to watch the movie.

  Marcus chuckled at the scene.

Annette cursed Connor in her mind.

She leaned on his shoulder to watch the movie, and her neck was stiff.

She thought, 'Did Connor have to be so stingy?

I just pinched him. Why did he look at me like that? His gaze made me feel guilty.

Moreover, he never went to the movies with me, but he went with Alina.'

Annette cursed Connor dozens of times in her mind.

As the movie was coming to an end, Alina shed tears.

To be honest, the ending of the movie was really bittersweet.

Annette was also a little moved.

However, when Alina cried, Annette felt embarrassed instead.

She blinked hard and forced back her tears.

Alina wiped her eyes with a tissue and asked, "Ms. Hall, did you enjoy the movie?"

Annette shrugged and said, "It wasn't really my type."

With that, she looked at Connor, asking, "What do you think?"

Connor said calmly, "I have the same thought as you. Now, I feel that this movie is outdated."

Alina retorted, "How could it be? Classics never go out of style."

Connor said calmly, "We are not the same. We have different perspectives."

  Alina felt a little disappointed.

She thought, 'Is it so difficult to let Connor say something I love to hear?'

Connor didn't pay attention to Alina's gaze. He looked toward the kitchen door and asked, "Is dinner ready?"

Dwayne came out and said, "Alpha Connor, dinner is ready."

Connor stood up and said, "Let's have dinner. Finish it early and go back early."

"Wait a minute, I'll finish this game soon. You guys can eat first," Marcus said, staring at his game.

Annette and Connor were getting ready to leave.

Alina said to Marcus, "How old are you? How can you still play games like a child? Come on, let's go."

  "Just a minute."

Lucas said unhappily, "Don't mind him."

Marcus complained, "Lucas, stop nagging me."

"I was nagging you for your own good. Those who spoil you are the ones who don't care about you."

As Lucas spoke, he glanced in the direction where Connor and Annette were.

Connor looked at Lucas and retorted, "You can't force people to be outstanding. You need to let them grow."

"That's better than not caring about anything and ultimately betraying the family."

Marcus noticed the tension between them and quickly put his phone aside, saying, "Lucas, Connor, I'm done playing. Let's eat."

Alina whispered to Marcus, "Don't take it to heart. Lucas is not in a good mood today."

Marcus winked at Alina and pushed Lucas to the dining table cheerfully.

"Lucas, don't worry. How I live in the future is my own business. I will never blame anyone."

Lucas sat across from Connor. After exchanging a glance, they both chose to suppress their anger.

Alina and Annette faced each other, but their eyes barely met because Annette didn't look at Alina.

  Marcus sat beside Annette.

He was the most relaxed one, eating and drinking without paying any attention to the tense atmosphere.

At the dining table, Alina asked, "Does everyone have anything special to do tomorrow? Should we go camping and make wishes like we did in previous years?"

Lucas glared at Annette and said, "Does Ms. Hall have the time? She is the daughter of the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack. Jessica has just been imprisoned, and their home must be less lively. Ms. Hall is probably going back to comfort her family."

Connor slammed the cutlery onto the table.

The atmosphere in the room was tense for a while.

Before Connor spoke, Annette held his hand and prevented him from talking.

She smiled at Lucas and said, "Since I'm Connor's mate, I am now a member of the Blood Moon Pack. Connor is the most important one in my heart, and I will listen to him. If he takes me to the Black Thorn Pack tomorrow, I will go. I will go wherever he takes me."

The corners of Connor's lips curled up, and he looked at Annette affectionately. He smiled, "You don't have to go anywhere. Just stay by my side."

"Okay," Annette said with a smile to Connor and placed the fruit he liked on his plate.

  Marcus couldn't help but shiver.

Annette succeeded in getting him stimulated by the couple's intimate behavior.

Alina clutched her knife and fork until her knuckles turned white, and she kept calling Annette a piece of shit inwardly.

However, she said, "Lucas, don't always push Ms. Hall back to the Black Thorn Pack. She went back to the Black Thorn Pack a few days ago because of me. If you mention that, I will feel guilty."

"Why are you feeling guilty? The fact that she is Lance's daughter is not something you can change."

Connor said unhappily, "Will you ever stop? It has nothing to do with you."
