His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 243

Chapter 243

Jennifer's father tried to beat Zachary.

  William pushed him away.

"Zachary is my son. I won't let you lay a finger on him! Get out of here!"

Jennifer's parents couldn't fight back and leave.

  Zachary let out a sigh.

Barbara pushed him and said, "Why did you choose such a woman as your girlfriend? You're driving me crazy."

"Enough! It's not the time to blame Zachary. He is the victim here," William said to Barbara before looking at Annette and Connor.

"Ann, Connor, please take a seat and join us for dinner tonight."

Annette knew that she shouldn't stay for dinner. She shook her head and said, "No, thanks. William. We've got plans later. We'll visit you another time for your great food."

  Barbara was grateful to Annette.

Zachary nodded at Connor and said, "Thanks for the heads up just now."

Connor curled his lips into a faint smile and said, "It proves that there is still hope for you. You must follow through with what you just said. If you hesitate again, then you are beyond help."

  "I know."

  Connor and Annette left.

  They got into Connor's car.

Annette wondered, "What did you say to Zachary?"

  "It is a secret."

Annette leaned back and pretended that she didn't care. "I wanna know."

"Where do you want to go during the holiday?" Connor changed the subject.

Annette shook her head and said, "No idea."

"I want to take you out for a vacation because it won't be as easy when your belly bulges.

Annette touched her belly and said gently, "I don't want to go anywhere. I just want to sleep and study. I'll be thrilled if I can stay in my apartment."

Connor said unhappily, "You just want to leave me."

  "Because you always distracted me."

"Did I?" Connor leaned over and smiled, "That makes sense. It must be hard to concentrate while a good-looking guy like me is around."

Annette pushed Connor's head away and said, "Stay away from me."

Connor couldn't help but laugh. "So I bet I'm right."

They chatted on the way, laughing and joking, having a great time.

On the first day of the holiday, Marcus went on a trip with his classmates.

And he returned before Christmas Eve.

On that day, Lucas and Alina also moved back from their villa.

At noon, Connor and Annette had just finished their meal when Alina arrived.

Alina was followed by a servant carrying a basket.

When Alina saw Connor and Annette, she smiled, "Connor, Ms. Hall, have you had lunch? I was quite free and made some snacks for you."

Annette thought she would feel awkward when she saw Alina again.

However, Alina acted as if nothing had happened between them.

  Annette got suspicious.

She thought, 'Am I being mean to her? Or is she too forgetful?

Maybe she is just good at pretending, and I haven't learned enough from her.'

After finishing her words, Alina turned around and took the basket with snacks from the servant's hand, walking toward the dining table.

She took out some snacks and smiled at Annette, "Ms. Hall, although I'm not that good at cooking, I can make decent snacks. Would you like to try some?"

Annette looked at Alina's face and didn't say anything.

Connor said, "We have just finished our lunch."

Alina looked at the dining table and insisted, "But you can still try it. Or is it that you don't like it?"

Connor rose from the chair and said coldly, "We have a pastry chef here. Do you think you can do better than him?"

"But I made them out of sincerity."

"Enough. No one here needs your kindness. You can go now."

After finishing his words, Connor looked at Annette and said, "Let's go upstairs."

Annette stood up. Alina wasn't angry and even took Annette's arm. "Ms. Hall, let's have a chat."

  Annette met Alina's eyes.

Annette's eyes were cold, while Alina looked fragile and pitiful.

Connor grumbled, "What do you want to talk about?"

"Connor, this is the Blood Moon Pack. What can I do to Ms. Hall? Can you stop avoiding me like I'm carrying some fatal virus?"

Before Connor continued, Annette said, "Let's go to the glass room."

Connor grabbed her wrist and wondered why she went easy on her again.

Annette smiled at him and asked him to rest assured. She withdrew her hand, followed Alina to the backyard, and entered the glass green room.

There were only the two of them.

Alina pulled two chairs and said to Annette, "Please have a seat."

After Annette sat down, Alina sat next to her.

"Ms. Grace, what did you want to talk about?"

"Ms. Hall, I know you don't want to see me. But we're family, so we will meet each other from time to time. Even if it's unpleasant, I hope you can put up with it."

Annette looked at Alina's sincere expression and remained silent.

Alina saw that Annette didn't speak and continued, "Christmas is coming soon. As a member of the Norman family, no matter how much you dislike me, let's not ruin the holiday for everyone, okay?"

Annette smiled, "Ms. Grace, do you want me to act with you?"

"I don't need to act. As I've said before, though you don't like me, I'm not. I understand why you're angry. So, the only one who needs to act is you, Ms. Hall."

Annette's expression was cold as she said, "Since I have become Connor's mate, I won't let him be in a quandary. I will do what needs to be done, and I don't need your reminder. Ms. Grace, I won't accept your so-called kindness at the moment. Just as I have said before, I can no longer have any friendly feelings toward you, and you don't have to show your kindness to me anymore. I can't bear it."

Annette stood up. "If you have nothing else to say, I'll head back now."

She noticed that Alina was a bit stunned, and she left directly.

Alina stayed in the glass room for a few minutes before coming out.

When passing through the living room, neither Connor nor Annette were there. There was only Dwayne.

Dwayne stepped forward and said, "Ms. Grace, I will send you back."

Alina looked at Dwayne with tears in her eyes and choked. "It's okay. I'll go back by myself."

She turned her head and glanced upstairs and then left.

As Dwayne went to the courtyard, he heard several servants talking about how Annette had bullied and made Alina cry.

  Dwayne cleared his throat.

  The servants fell silent immediately.

Dwayne walked forward and said in a low voice, "What are you guys doing? Do you still want your job or not?"

"Dwayne, I'm sorry. We spoke out of turn. We won't do that again."

"Christmas is coming soon, so I won't punish you guys. Remember, if you can't watch your mouths, you will be in trouble."

  "Yes."

  Dwayne let out a sigh.
