His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 202

Chapter 202

Annette said, "Let's leave through the west gate."

Sara listened to her and sent her to the west gate.

  They hailed a taxi.

Annette told the driver the address.

Sara frowned and asked, "Aren't you going to Connor's place?"

Annette did not say a word.

Sara said, "Annette, though I haven't been in a relationship, I think that if there is any misunderstanding between a couple, it is better to talk about it. Do you think so?"

Annette shook her head and turned to look outside the car window.

Sara sighed and could not say anything else.

Not long after, they arrived at the apartment building, and Sara followed Annette home.

Annette sat on the sofa and said to Sara, "Sara, thanks for taking me home. I'll be fine by myself."

  "But..."

"I might not be able to go back to work in the next few days. Please help me ask for another leave."

Sara walked to Annette and sat down. She asked, "Annette, are you really OK?"

Annette forced a smile with difficulty and said, "I'm OK. Sara, don't worry."

Sara held Annette's hand and said, "Just keep in mind that you have a baby inside of you now. Don't do anything silly, OK?"

Annette nodded and said, "OK. Thanks, Sara."

  Sara then left.

Just as she went downstairs, her phone rang. It was a call from Alanna.

"Sara, where are you guys? Alpha Connor is here."

Sara looked back upstairs and said, "Well, just tell him that Annette is at her apartment now."

  "Okay, I got it."

Sara hung up the phone and took a deep breath. She wasn't sure if she should tell Connor where Annette was.

However, she didn't have a better option.

Annette was in a bad state right now, and Sara didn't have the heart to leave her alone.

Sara hid in the corner and waited until Connor showed up. He went upstairs anxiously. Then, Sara felt relieved and left.

Connor came to the doorway and knocked.

But there was no answer from inside the room.

So, he opened the door with his spare key.

Connor saw Annette sitting on the sofa in a trance. He walked over slowly and sat on the coffee table opposite her.

Annette looked at him coldly, trying to suppress her emotions.

Connor reached out to her head.

However, Annette moved aside to avoid his hand.

She said coldly, "If you have something to say, just say it. After that, leave."

  "This is also my home."

"I'm still paying the rent. If you want me to move out, I will do it right away."

Annette stood up as she spoke.

Connor pulled her into his arms.

Annette was forced to sit on his lap.

She struggled to get up, but Connor wouldn't let go.

Connor hugged Annette and said in a gentle voice, "Annette, listen to me. I know you're upset. However, since your identity has been revealed, you won't have to bear the insults anymore. Plus, sooner or later, people will know about it. It's just a matter of time."

"Is that so? That's what you think." Annette smiled sarcastically and said, "How ridiculous. I thought you understood me."

"I do." Connor nodded sincerely. "I do understand you. I never thought of hurting you."

"But you did. Connor, you told others that I was Lance's illegitimate daughter. Do you think you are helping me?"

Annette shook her head in pain. "You're not. Connor, I won't be grateful to you. I hate you. I should have known that you would betray me one day, but I chose to believe you."

  Connor felt a heartache.

"Annette, believe me, my love for you is true."

Annette smiled contemptuously. She said, "From now on, I will never believe a man's promise. Connor, I don't want you in my life anymore. Can you leave? Or, I will."

Connor did not speak or move.

"Since you won't make a choice, I will. I don't have the strength, and I am not in the mood to rent another apartment now. So, the best way is for you to leave. If you keep pestering me, I'll give up this child."

Connor was shocked by Annette's determined expression.

He wouldn't put his baby's life at risk.

  But Annette would.

Now, she was angry, and she could do anything.

He had crossed the line. And Annette would not forgive him easily.

"Are you leaving or not?" Annette asked again.

Connor said, "Let me stay and I promise I'll keep quiet. Is that okay?"

Annette broke free from him. She got up and said, "Go, now. I don't even want to look at you. Go."

Connor frowned and said worriedly, "I'll ask Dwayne to take care of you."

"No need. Everyone related to you should disappear from my life. Just leave."

Annette was losing it. She shouted, "Just leave me alone!"

Connor stretched out his hand and tried to pull her arm.

However, Annette took a step back and lowered her head to avoid his gaze.

For the first time, Connor didn't know what to do.

Annette was so agitated. He knew that staying here would help with anything.

So, he nodded and said, "Okay, I'll go now. Calm down, Annette. Just don't get agitated or hang up the phone when I call you. Don't make me worry."

Annette turned her back to Connor.

  Connor left reluctantly.

As soon as he went out, he made a call.

Annette sat back down on the sofa. She bent her knees and wrapped her arms around them.

  She thought, 'Everything is fake.

'The Moon Goddess has long given up on someone like me. Why would she send me another mate to give me a better life?

Only a fool like me would believe that my luck wasn't used up, so I met Connor.'

Annette felt that she was in a sorry state right now.

She pressed her forehead against her knees.

She thought that Connor understood her.

But why did he fail to live up to her expectations and trust?

The pain was unbearable for her.

It was as if someone had stabbed a knife into her heart.

She took a deep breath and tried to hold back her tears but to no avail.

Annette's phone rang, yet she didn't move.

Her phone kept ringing. But she simply ignored it as if she hadn't heard it.

After all, she was on her own again.

Connor went downstairs. He sat in the car and lit up a cigarette, but he did not take a puff.

He looked up at the window upstairs.

  He was worried about Annette.

He wondered if she was crying now.

The phone rang. Connor took it out and it was a call from Alina. He picked it up and said coldly, "What do you want? Don't call me again."

From Connor's angry voice, Alina could tell that the result was not good.

She said with a timid voice, "Connor, I just want to ask if you have made up with Ms. Hall. Please don't be angry. I know I was wrong. I also want to make up for it."

"Alina, stop whining in front of me. Your voice only makes me sick. I have made it clear. I will not forgive you on behalf of Annette for what you have done. Good intentions or not, you have hurt Annette and me. So, just stay away from us. We don't need your so-called kindness. Don't pester me anymore. And stop saying that you want me to be happy because it has nothing to do with you."

After that, Connor hung up the phone.
