　　Connor did not want to continue with this meaningless conversation.

　　"If you don't want a child, you should take precautions. Since you are pregnant, you shouldn't give up on the child."

　　"I didn't do it voluntarily. It was Lucas..."

　　"Enough. It is not proper for me to listen to the personal affairs between you and Lucas. Alina, I think Lucas has the right to decide the child's future. You shouldn't decide on your own. Think about it carefully."

　　As he spoke, Connor raised his wrist to look at his watch. "It's time for me to take Annette back to school. You should go home now."

　　After he finished his words, he walked past Alina and left.

　　Alina stood there and didn't move.

　　Annette looked down at her phone.

　　Connor opened the car door and got in. He said, "Let's go."

　　Annette put down her phone and turned to look at Alina, who was standing alone at the entrance of the restaurant.

　　After the car drove far away, she looked back and thought of Alina's hug with Connor.

　　Connor reached out and held her hand.

　　Annette wanted to break free in a fit of pique, but he held her hand tightly.

　　She glared at Connor and then turned to look outside the car window, not wanting to say anything.

　　Connor said, "Alina was getting a little emotional. I just told her to mind her words and actions."

　　"You don't need to explain it to me. You can do whatever you want. It has nothing to do with me."

　　Connor was not angry because of Annette's indifferent tone. Instead, he laughed.

　　Annette frowned and turned to glare at him once again.

　　Connor pulled her toward him.

　　Annette leaned against him, and he wrapped her shoulder with his arm. "Don't worry, I know what to do."

　　Connor sent Annette back to the entrance of the school building.

　　Annette opened the door and was about to get off when Connor said, "I'll pick you up after work in the afternoon."

　　"No need."

　　"I'll come anyway. Close the door."

　　Connor left. Annette returned to the office and got herself a cup of warm water.

　　Just as she sat down, Alanna came in and said excitedly, "Annette, the woman who was on the news with Alpha Connor two days ago, is downstairs."

　　Annette put down the water cup and got up to go out.

　　Alanna followed behind her hurriedly and was curious about why the woman was looking for Annette.

　　Annette went to the entrance of the office building. She walked to Jessica and said coldly, "What do you want?"

　　Jessica was furious. "I'm not happy. Do you think I will let you enjoy your life? Annette, how dare you take away my man!"

　　She pushed Annette.

　　Annette was worried that Jessica would make a scene in school. She looked around and confirmed that there were only a few people. Then, she pulled Jessica's hair and dragged her into the car.

　　Jessica shouted in pain, "Are you crazy?"

　　Annette looked at her sharply and said, "You'd better be quiet, or I'll hit your fake nose."

　　Jessica quickly covered her nose. She said nervously, "I dare you!"

　　Annette looked at the driver and said, "Drive away from the school."

　　The driver looked back at Jessica awkwardly. Jessica shouted, "Don't drive."

　　Annette looked at Jessica.

　　"It seems that you have overestimated yourself. Do you want to know who Connor will choose between you and me?" Annette took out her phone and said, "Believe it or not, as long as I call, Connor will come immediately."

　　Jessica stared at Annette's face and shouted at the driver in anger, "Drive."

　　The driver drove the car outside the school.

　　"Stop the car," Annette said.

　　The driver parked the car by the roadside.

　　Annette looked at Jessica provocatively.

　　Jessica raised her chin and said arrogantly, "What else can you do to me?"

　　Annette looked Jessica up and down and said disdainfully, "Connor doesn't want you, and why do you come messing with me? He likes me so much, yet I haven't decided whether to accept him or not."

　　Jessica knew what Annette meant. She was so angry that her chest heaved.

　　She raised her hand and was about to slap Annette, but Annette grabbed her wrist.

　　Annette shook away Jessica's hand and said, "Do you want to bully me? Look at me! Jessica, if you piss me off, you'll regret it so much!"

　　She opened the car door and got off, leaving without looking back.

　　Jessica clenched her fists and looked coldly at Annette's back.

　　She took out her phone and dialed Leslie's number.

　　As soon as the call connected, Jessica cried, "Mommy, that bitch beat me."

　　"You mean Annette? You went to her?"

　　"Yes. I can't swallow this."

　　"Jessica, you should go there."

　　"If I don't act quickly, Alpha Connor will become Annette's mate. I can't let that happen."

　　Leslie thought about it and said, "That's right. You can't lose to the daughter of that bitch Sharon. We can't listen to Lance and Austin anymore. Come back. Let's think about what to do next."

　　When Annette returned to the office building, she saw Alanna and Sara waiting for her at the gate.

　　As they saw Annette, they walked over together.

　　Alanna gave Annette a thumbs-up and said, "Annette, you are so awesome! You chased her away."

　　Annette didn't know what to say. She tried to explain, "Alanna, the relationship between me and Connor isn't what you think."

　　Sara asked Annette worriedly, "Are you alright?"

　　Annette shook her head. "I'm fine."

　　They returned to the office together. Annette felt dizzy and wanted to sleep.

　　After drinking a cup of water, she took her folding chair and lay down to rest.

　　Alanna still wanted to gossip. She sat beside Annette and said, "Annette, let's talk for a while. I'm so curious about you now."

　　Annette said tiredly, "Alanna, I'm tired and want to sleep now."

　　"You didn't sleep well last night?"

　　Annette frowned. She slept early last night, but recently, she had been sleepy all the time.

　　"Yes," She nodded and said, "I'm going to have a nap."

　　Alanna had no choice but to leave in disappointment.

　　After work in the afternoon, Connor came as expected.

　　He picked up Annette and returned to his villa in the Blood Moon Pack. While having dinner, Connor said, "Lucas said that he wanted to take Alina out for a trip. He invited us to go with him."

　　"I won't go," Annette rejected him without a second thought.

　　"Why?"

　　"Roxanne is coming to Akron. We have an appointment to go out to relax."

　　Connor frowned and said, "Are you sure you didn't avoid us on purpose?"

　　"Of course not." Annette got up from the chair.

　　She just did not want to see Connor stay with Alina.

　　Connor did not say anything else.
