Chapter 16
Chapter 16
Connor grabbed her arm and looked at her, his face filled with anger.
"Why were you running? What happened to your foot?"
Annette threw her shoes at his feet and shouted angrily, "Connor, have I offended you? Why did you do this to me? Why did you kiss me? Do you think that you can do anything as you wish, and all women are at your disposal, just because you are rich? Well, stop being arrogant, and I hate you. I hate your guts. I want you to stay as far away from me as possible."
After she finished speaking, she took off his coat, threw it at him, and walked away.
Connor's face darkened. He picked her up and walked to his car.
Annette struggled. "What are you doing? Put me down."
Connor ignored her, threw her into the car, and closed the door.
He pressed her down in the back row, ignoring Leonard, who looked embarrassed in the driver's seat.
"Leonard, drive. Go home."
"Yes, Alpha Connor."
Annette gritted her teeth. "Connor Norman! Piss off!"
Leonard's hands trembled as he gripped the steering wheel.
He thought, 'I have never heard anyone from the Blood Moon Pack call Alpha Connor by his full name. Ms. Hall is the first.'
Connor's lips curled into a smile. "Connor Norman?"
"Leonard, pull over," Connor ordered.
Leonard hurriedly did as he was told.
Connor said, "You're off duty."
"Yes, Alpha Connor." Leonard opened the door and got out of the car quickly.
Only Connor and Annette were left in the car, and Annette suddenly felt a bit scared.
"What are you doing?"
Connor found Annette very attractive. He did not know if Annette was still in heat.
When he approached Annette, Leo became excited.
Connor wanted to kiss Annette. When he approached her, Leo let out a low growl.
"What do you think?" Connor asked, and then he began to kiss Annette.
Annette struggled and shouted, "Let go of me, Connor, you bastard!"
Connor looked down at her and pinched her chin. "Say it again, and I'll let go of you."
"What?" Annette looked at Connor in confusion.
"I like it when you call me by my name," Connor said with a smile.
Annette blushed.
Connor stopped smiling. He pinched her chin and said, "Very good. From now on, when there's only you and me, you can call me by my name. It is your privilege."
She was dumbfounded. How was that going to help anything?
At this time, Connor let go of Annette. She quickly sat up and straightened her dress.
For some reason, she felt like she had just survived a disaster.
What just happened proved Austin right.
Alpha Connor was a dangerous man.
Connor opened the door and got into the passenger seat.
He turned around and looked at her. "Come over here and drive home."
Home... The word gave Annette a pang.
She liked this word, though she never had a home.
Since she did not move, Connor asked again, "What are you waiting for?"
She looked at him and said, "I don't know how to drive."
Connor realized something. He then took out his phone and called Leonard.
"Come back."
After hanging up, he returned to the seat at the back. He grabbed her foot and placed it on his thigh for a check.
Looking at the side of his face, Annette had a strange feeling that she had never felt before.
Connor carefully examined Annette's ankle. It was already swollen.
"You are healing so slowly," Connor said.
Werewolves tended to recover quickly. They could always heal quickly, even from knife cuts. However, Annette's ankle showed no sign of recovery.
"Probably because I'm a hybrid," Annette said self-mockingly.
"You have your wolf, and you can shift. You are just an ordinary werewolf," Connor said.
Annette did not say anything. Meanwhile, the car door was opened, and Leonard returned to the driver's seat.
"Go back to Blood Moon Pack," Connor said.
"Yes, Alpha Connor."
Just as Annette was about to say something, Connor said, "Any objection will be rejected."
Annette thought, 'Who says I was going to say no? I just wanted to thank you. After all, my ankle was killing me.'
"What did Austin say to you? You were so angry when you were going downstairs."
She was silent. She almost forgot about the matter with Austin.
"Why the silence?" He looked at her.
"I don't want to talk about it."
"He was unhappy that we kissed?"
Annette glanced sheepishly at Leonard in the front row. Then she glared at Connor.
Connor remained calm. He said, "What is your relationship with him?"
After a period of silence, she looked at him and said, "When I finish my work according to our agreement, I won't work at your villa anymore. We will have nothing to do with each other. So, please stay out of my business, and stay away from me."
Connor was no longer in a good mood. He looked gloomy in an instant.
He thought, 'In the end, she still chose Austin over me.
The more she acts like this, the more I won't let her off the hook. After all, I've hated Austin for so long.
One day, I will make her choose me in front of Austin.'
Connor took Annette back to Blood Moon Pack. The wolf guards patrolling the border looked at Annette. Then, they looked at Connor's cold face and let them pass.
Connor carried Annette into the pack doctor's home.
The doctor told her to be more cautious after the swelling went down because after she twisted it, it might happen again.
The doctor made some ointment with grass and spring water and applied it to her ankle.
After that, Annette wanted to get up on her own, but Connor picked her up and walked away in front of everyone.
Annette buried her face in his arms the entire time.
It was not because she was touched, but because she was embarrassed.
