Chapter 134
Chapter 134
They came to the middle of the basketball court.
Melissa stepped forward and took the lead in picking up the microphone. "Alright, everyone, quiet down now. As we begin today's lesson, please put your phones on silent mode."
She walked over to Connor and handed him the microphone. "Alpha Connor, you may begin."
Connor nodded at her, and then she walked to the side with great excitement.
Standing next to Alanna, she whispered excitedly, "Alpha Connor looked at me."
Alanna was unhappy. "Why did you get to be the host?"
"Who else? Did you want to be the host? Your voice was shaking."
"Either Annette or Sara could do it."
Melissa immediately said, "If you have a problem with me, just say it."
Sara hurriedly said, "Enough. It's not a big deal, so just stop arguing, alright? Otherwise, Alpha Connor might hear you."
Then Alanna and Melissa glanced at each other and paid attention to the lecture.
Connor said, "Hello, everyone. As usual, we won't be talking about theories today, since your professors will do a better job at that. I'll show you some of the classic examples I encountered in my work and how we solved them back in the company."
Connor was talking ceaselessly, while Annette was listening and thinking of her plan.
Ten minutes after the class began, Annette said to Alanna beside her, "I need to go to the bathroom."
Then Annette quickly left.
Connor was standing in the center of the basketball court, and he was pacing back and forth with a microphone in his hand.
So, when he turned around, he saw Annette running away quietly.
He fixed his gaze on Annette throughout the time while talking.
Annette came back a few minutes later.
She glanced at Connor, who was not far away and snickered.
Not long later, Alanna, who was beside Annette, asked, "Annette, do you feel hot here?"
"Sort of," said Annette, nodding.
Melissa was puzzled. "That's so weird. What's going on? I thought the air conditioner was on. Has it stopped working?"
"I'll go take a look," Sara said.
Annette raised her wrist to check the time. The class would be over in twenty minutes.
She looked at Connor and saw that he still looked elegant. Then she looked at the students, who were busy wiping their sweat with napkins.
She was puzzled and thought, 'Doesn't Connor feel hot?'
A few minutes later, Sara came back. She whispered, "It's fine. I went to the air conditioner room. Someone accidentally set the air conditioner to the wrong temperature."
Alanna took a deep breath and said, "I see. Who could be this careless?"
Annette smiled embarrassedly, "Sorry. I was the one turning on the air conditioner. I didn't pay attention."
Alanna looked at the students in the audience not far away and couldn't help but laugh. "See what happens because of your carelessness? Who would have known? Look at the girls. They can't flirt with Alpha Connor now, can they?"
Annette, Sara, and Melissa looked at the audience. Many of the girls' makeup had been ruined due to sweating, and indeed, they looked a bit embarrassed.
Annette felt a little guilty. She didn't mean to do this.
It was four o'clock, and Connor finished introducing the case right on time.
"Alright. That's all for today." He turned around and handed the microphone to the bodyguard.
The bodyguard then handed the microphone to Melissa.
Melissa was flattered. She took the microphone and said, "Alright. Everyone, Alpha Connor will be leaving now. After that, you may leave, but orderly. OK, class dismissed."
Melissa put down the microphone and turned to follow Connor and the others hastily.
Today, the place was spacious and there were no troublemakers.
Annette thought that things would end well.
Yet after she left the basketball court, there was a girl in a turtleneck and jeans with a ponytail outside the court, looking young and innocent.
When she saw Connor come out, she came forward shyly with a book in her arms.
Before she could approach him, she was stopped by two bodyguards.
The girl hurriedly said, "Alpha Connor, I'm Matilda. Mr. Crace said you recommended me to the school brochure shooting last time, so I'm here to thank you."
Connor thought, 'The brochure?
So, she is the campus belle that Hari mentioned.
But she is nothing compared with Annette.'
Annette, who was behind the bodyguards, tilted her head slightly and looked ahead through the bodyguards.
Alanna pulled Annette's wrist excitedly and said, "What's going on? Does Alpha Connor know Matilda?"
Melissa looked gloomy. "Well, well. What a calculative, pretentious bitch! She knew everyone else was dressed up, so she went out of her way to dress simply. She tried to look different from other girls, right? That's a good trick!"
Annette did not say anything, and Sara turned to look at her.
Annette ignored Sara's concerned eyes and looked at Connor and Matilda in silence.
Seeing that Connor did not say anything, Matilda lowered her eyes and smiled shyly, "Alpha Connor, may I ask you something? Why did you help me?"
Connor said coldly, "You don't have to thank me. I didn't help you. I only recommended the campus belle selected, and it didn't matter to me who it was."
Matilda did not seem to have heard what he was saying. She mustered her courage and continued, "Alpha Connor, may I have a word with you alone?"
Behind them, Sara interrupted, "Alpha Connor, you should get in the car. The students will come out soon, and it will be chaotic. Things might get out of control."
Connor ignored Matilda and walked around her to his car.
Matilda turned around and looked in the direction Connor had left.
She thought, 'This is my one chance. I have to be brave. If I miss this opportunity, I will regret it for the rest of my life.'
"Alpha Connor, I like you. I adore you so much. Can I be your mate?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the place instantly fell silent.
Connor, who had already walked to the car door, turned back to look at Matilda.
Matilda peeped at him. She thought that he was looking at her, so she quickly lowered her head shyly.
