Chapter 104
Chapter 104
"The doctor has made a diagnosis. I don't think you would collude with the doctor and fake the medical records. You are sick, so you have to accept treatment. There is no room for discussion," Connor said coldly.
"Alpha Connor, you can't target me like this," Fiona said angrily.
The smile on Connor's face disappeared in an instant.
"Target you? Since you insist on thinking so, I don't care. I have always kept my word. I warned you once, and I said it was the last warning. But you did not take it seriously."
"Alpha Connor, I did it out of good intentions. Annette pestered you while seducing my son. She did not respect you at all. Otherwise, she would not pester my son at the same time. Are you going to let this woman make a fool of you?"
"Seduce? Kyle is not worthy of it. Also, I think you have got it wrong. It was your disappointing son who pestered Annette." Connor stood up and looked down at Fiona. "You'd better resign as soon as possible. I don't have much patience."
Fiona shook her head firmly. "I won't resign."
As the president of Werewolf University, Fiona gained a lot of prestige among the Lunas of other packs. She had enjoyed many privileges, so she was certainly unwilling to resign.
"You have to choose between the Crystal Pack or your job. Make your choice. If you want to be the president of Werewolf University, I will not make things difficult for you. However, the Crystal Pack will have to pay the price for you," Connor said disdainfully.
Fiona was furious, and her hands were trembling.
Connor sneered. "I'm doing this for your own good. After all, you are sick, aren't you?"
"Her arm was only scratched a little. Alpha Connor, you don't have to be so ruthless. You have gone too far," Fiona stared at Connor and said.
Connor glanced at her in disdain. His tone was icy cold. "A little? You hurt her, and it is unbearable enough for me. You got what you deserved. And you don't get to bargain with me."
With that, Connor did not want to talk to Fiona any longer. He turned and left.
The next day, Annette went to school. As soon as she entered the office, Melissa waved to her.
Melissa gossiped, "Annette, have you heard that Fiona is in the hospital?"
"Is that so?" Annette pretended not to know and said, "Is she sick?"
"I don't know the details, but it must be serious. Fiona said that she was not in good health and could no longer be the president of Werewolf University. She resigned from her position so she might get better soon."
Annette was a little surprised. Fiona resigned?
She was in a trance for a moment and wondered, 'Is Fiona really sick?
How is that possible?'
Annette recalled how aggressive Fiona was when Fiona argued with her yesterday. Fiona did not look like a sick person at all.
Sara checked Annette's arm and asked with concern, "Annette, is your arm alright?"
Melissa said hurriedly, "I heard that you had a fight with Fiona yesterday and that she pushed you. Were you hurt?"
Annette said, "I was careless and fell."
Hearing Annette's words, the teachers who intended to gossip together walked away.
Melissa returned to her seat. "Annette, it's good news for you since Fiona resigned. No one will pick on you anymore."
Annette shrugged and said, "Maybe."
She hadn't recovered from her trance yet and wondered why Fiona resigned.
She didn't leave the office for the whole morning. During lunch, the teachers were all talking about Fiona's resignation.
It was said that Fiona didn't resign due to her health condition, but was forced to do so.
Annette wondered, 'Who can threaten the Luna of a pack?'
A name popped up in her mind. Connor could do it.
She said to Sara, "Sara, I'm finished. I'll go back to the office first."
"Okay," Sara waved her hand and said.
Annette got up and left the cafeteria. She dialed Connor's number immediately.
"Connor, have you heard that Fiona has resigned?" Annette could not wait to speak.
"Is that so?"
"Yes. She said that she was sick and needed to rest. However, others are discussing that she might have been forced away. What do you think?"
Connor smiled. He knew that Annette was testing him.
He said calmly, "Don't listen to the rumors. Since Fiona said that she needed to focus on her health issue, it must be true. We should trust her."
Annette heaved a sigh of relief.
Connor asked, "She's going to resign. How do you feel? Are you happy about it?"
"If I were to say that I'm happy, would you laugh at me for taking pleasure in others' misfortune?"
"With her overbearing personality, if she resigned, many people would gloat behind her back. So, you are not taking pleasure in others' misfortune. Since you are in a good mood, let's go out for dinner to celebrate."
"Celebrate such a thing?"
"Anything can become a reason for celebration. It depends on the mood," Connor said.
Annette smiled resignedly, "Alright then. Let's go celebrate."
"It's your treat."
"OK."
Hanging up the phone, Annette returned to the office in a good mood.
In the afternoon, the match on the sports field was still in full swing.
Annette heard several student instructors whispering to each other.
"By the way, Kyle also didn't show up at school today."
"Yeah. Probably because his mother resigned, he could no longer do whatever he wanted like before."
"I hope he will resign too."
"That's right. What is he doing here? He is so annoying."
As they spoke, they giggled in a low voice.
Annette frowned, but she did not let her thoughts run wild.
Soon, the basketball game ended. Marcus walked to Annette.
He whispered, "Annette, if my team wins, will you help me with something?"
Annette snorted. "Then, you've got to win first."
"You have to promise me first. Otherwise, I won't take part in the game tomorrow," Marcus said.
Annette glared at him. "Are you threatening me?"
"Promise me. Don't worry. It's easy for you. I won't make things difficult."
Annette thought for a moment. "Then, do your best tomorrow."
