Chapter 253 254: Jiang Tiantian's Shock!
Chapter 253 254: Jiang Tiantian's Shock!
He didn't seem to care in the slightest!
"Alright, hurry up and find an understated box," Qin Long instructed Lin Huahua.
"Young Master, p-please wait! I... I'll box it up right away!"
Lin Huahua immediately began to package the ring in a fluster, not daring to show the slightest neglect toward Qin Long. When she inadvertently glanced at Zhang Bin, her expression soured.
This bastard almost screwed me over! If not for a last-minute change of heart, my commission and bonus of over 100,000 yuan would have just flown away!
Zhang Bin had said he knew Qin Long very well, being his neighbor, and claimed the man was only fit to buy cheap street-stall goods. Lin Huahua was now seething with hatred.
That idiot just got slapped hard in the face.
"Get the hell away from me, Zhang Bin!" she hissed. "You son of a bitch, you almost made me lose a major sale. If you had pissed off Young Master Qin, the store owner would never have let you off lightly."
Following Qin Long's request, Lin Huahua immediately found an understated yet luxurious box and packaged the ring.
Zhang Bin was shaking with rage, but he had no one to blame but himself.
"Young... Young Master Qin." After standing frozen for a long moment, Zhang Bin finally approached Qin Long, his face etched with guilt. He had to apologize. The alternative was kneeling, kowtowing, and calling Qin Long 'Dad'—the humiliation would be unbearable. Compared to that, what was a simple apology?
However, before he could even get a word out, Qin Long raised a hand to stop him.
"What's wrong? You're not going to kneel and call me 'Dad' anymore?" Qin Long asked coolly. "After all, the Qin family name isn't something just anyone can associate with."
His response was like a knife twisting deep in Zhang Bin's heart. He stood there, lips quivering, utterly humiliated.
Soon, Lin Huahua had prepared the receipt and certificate of authenticity, handing them directly to Qin Long.
"Young Master Qin, here is the wedding ring," she said respectfully, offering it with both hands. "I hope you will visit us again."
"Mm-hmm." Qin Long nodded, took the box, and slowly left with Zi'er supporting him.
As Qin Long walked out, all the staff followed him to the door to see him off. The crowd outside soon dispersed, still reeling in shock from witnessing him swipe his card for such a staggering amount.
Lin Huahua felt as if she had just woken from a dream. With so many people around earlier, she had forcibly suppressed her excitement. Now, she was practically jumping for joy.
A major sale! The treasure of the store! The commission alone will be nearly 200,000 yuan, and that's not even counting the performance dividends and bonuses. It's a massive windfall!
She was still in awe of Qin Long's brazen purchase. Having worked in the store for many years, she had seen plenty of wealthy customers, but they would spend a few hundred thousand at most on jewelry. Never had she seen someone like Qin Long, who spent over a million yuan without so much as blinking. The sight had shaken her to her core.
Zhang Bin was filled with shame. If only I hadn't ridiculed Qin Long... We're neighbors with Tang Xuewu's family, after all. That huge sale could have been mine. Now, he had made an enemy of everyone and looked like a complete fool.
"Sister Hua, don't get too excited," he said sarcastically, sidling up to Lin Huahua. "There's no way Qin Long has that much money. Maybe it's not from a clean source?"
"Shut your fucking mouth, Zhang Bin!" Lin Huahua glared at him, her expression chilling. "Where a customer gets his money is none of my business!"
"I'm just trying to be nice, and you're treating my kindness like dirt," Zhang Bin retorted. "Just be careful that money isn't dirty. You don't want to get dragged into a police investigation. It'll be more trouble than it's worth, and you'll come away empty-handed. So, you'd better watch out." He continued to grumble incessantly, his expression aggrieved.
"I think you're the one with too much time on your hands. For a grown man, you sure do nag more than a goddamn woman," Lin Huahua said, shoving him aside.
"Lin Huahua, you fucking bitch, what did you just say?!" Zhang Bin shouted. "So that's how it is? Biting the hand that fed you?" He grabbed her hand, looking ready to get physical.
"Help! He's assaulting me!" Lin Huahua cried out.
Just then, a tall, beautiful woman in a blue bodycon dress strode over.
"What do you two think you're doing?!"
Hearing the sharp reprimand, they both hung their heads and fell silent. The woman was none other than Jiang Tiantian, Tang Xuewu's close friend.
"You don't want to work here anymore, is that it? What kind of behavior is this during work hours!" Jiang Tiantian's fine brows knitted together as she glared at them angrily.
"Miss, Sister Hua just closed a huge sale," Zhang Bin quickly explained. "I know the man who bought it, and I was just giving her some well-intentioned advice..." He then recounted the entire incident to Jiang Tiantian.
Jiang Tiantian stroked her chin, a look of shock on her face. "The store's prized treasure, the WSD Warmth series wedding ring, was sold for the full price?"
She found it unbelievable. That was indeed a fine diamond ring, but not one that customers were typically willing to buy. Besides, how many people in Jiangzhong could afford a wedding ring worth over a million yuan? On her father's instructions, Jiang Tiantian had been planning to send that ring back to their family in the provincial capital. But she was a step too late; someone had already bought it. She marveled at the buyer's wealth and audacity. After all, the ring had sat in the display case for three years without a single serious offer.
"Which young master bought it?" Jiang Tiantian mused aloud. "Someone who can casually spend over a million yuan must be from one of Jiangzhong's top families, right?" She glanced at Lin Huahua.
"Miss, I don't know him," Lin Huahua said, opening the payment information on her device. She looked at the name. "He seems to be called... Qin Long."
"Say that name again!" Jiang Tiantian exclaimed, her body trembling.
"Qin Long." Seeing her boss's reaction, Lin Huahua was puzzled but repeated the name.
"Is this person walking with a cane and accompanied by a female guard?" Jiang Tiantian asked urgently.
"Yes, Miss," Lin Huahua confirmed, her own surprise growing.
"Miss, I'm their neighbor!" Zhang Bin chimed in. "Qin Long is that infamous freeloader from the Tang Family in Jiangzhong—the fool! Because of him, the Tang Family's own Miss Tang Xuewu has been shunned for years, and his prospective mother-in-law, Zhang Meilan, can't stand the sight of him," he explained with a fawning smile.
At that, Jiang Tiantian fell deep into thought. Still, it didn't change the fact that Qin Long had spent over a million to buy the wedding ring. She touched her chin, still unable to believe it.
That man... a disabled fool for the past three years... somehow spent over a million yuan on a wedding ring? It's unbelievable. But the payment information and the description of the man matched Qin Long perfectly. It had to be him. I truly never would have imagined...
Jiang Tiantian left the store in a daze.
「The Tang Family Courtyard」
Night had fallen, the time when countless young night owls began to come alive.
Tang Xuewu had just taken a hot bath and was planning to check the news before going to sleep. In the past, her friends had often invited her to go out dancing, but she had stopped going altogether to take care of Qin Long.
"Where is Qin Long?" Tang Xuewu wondered, a worried expression on her pretty face as she glanced at her watch.
