He’s so Flirty

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Chapter 4 No Girl Will Want to Marry You in the FutureSo, it really is him.

Qin Qing frowned and quickly looked away, like a small wilted sprout under the scorching sun, looking deflated and lacking energy.

Now she also felt that his earlier advice to “turn around and run” was quite appropriate. Unfortunately, with Fu Zhengnan in front and Teacher Lin behind, there wasn’t even a place to crawl into if she wanted to escape.

Thinking about the embarrassing “black history” of her behavior in front of this person, Qin Qing felt an even stronger urge to shrink into a tiny bean and bury herself in the ground to sprout.

It seemed as if the boy standing there understood her embarrassment. He let out a light laugh, lazily withdrawing his gaze, and walked over to Fu Zhengnan’s desk.

He stopped there, standing with his back partially turned to Qin Qing, only a desk corner separating them.

“…”

Qin Qing tried to press herself flat against the desk.

Fu Zhengnan slapped the papers in his hand onto the desk and glared up at Wen Yufeng.

“You didn’t show up for classes all day yesterday. Give me a reason.”

Although Fu Zhengnan’s voice was relatively calm, a closer listen revealed a suppressed anger beneath it.

Seeing that the situation was getting tense, Teacher Lin felt it was best not to linger. After glancing at Qin Qing, he said to Fu Zhengnan, “Teacher Fu, I’ll leave this child in your care. I need to get back to my class; the self-study period is getting a bit rowdy.”

Fu Zhengnan absentmindedly acknowledged him, and Teacher Lin turned and left.

The other teachers in the office, clearly accustomed to such scenes, each returned their attention to their own tasks, leaving an invisible tension in the air.

Qin Qing, caught in the “battlefield,” felt utterly miserable.

As for Fu Zhengnan’s question, Wen Yufeng seemed unfazed, like a stone dropped into a lake that didn’t even cause a ripple.

Normally, Fu Zhengnan might have moved on, but with another pair of eyes watching from across the desk, he wasn’t inclined to let the matter drop.

“Tell me, what were you up to yesterday?”

When asked a second time, Wen Yufeng’s lips curled into a faint, teasing smile as he spoke.

“Do you really want to know, Teacher?”

“…What kind of response is that?!” Fu Zhengnan was momentarily stunned, and then his anger flared. “As your homeroom teacher, I have the right to know what you were doing when you should have been in school!”

“I don’t mind telling you,” Wen Yufeng replied nonchalantly, nodding slightly. Then he turned his body slightly to the left, his gaze falling to the side.

“…”

Qin Qing, who was nearly lying flat on the desk, stiffened.

A voice, carrying a hint of raspy amusement, sounded above her head—

“I’m just worried that what I say might be… unsuitable for children.”

“………………”

Unable to hold back, the “child” in question, Qin Qing, lifted her face and glared as fiercely as she could at the tall boy.

But whether it was because she was holding back or because of his words, her delicate, pretty face had turned a deep shade of pink, extending even to her ears.

As a result, the expression that was supposed to be fierce lost all its threatening effect.

Instead, she looked like a little kitten, puffing up in vain, waving tiny paws that were only good for tickling, with no sharp claws in sight—only soft, plush paw pads.

The deep black depths of Wen Yufeng’s eyes rippled with barely suppressed amusement.

He blinked and turned back around.

It was only then that Fu Zhengnan processed what had been said, his anger bubbling up. He slammed his hand on the desk.

“Is that how you speak to your teacher?!”

The desk rattled with a loud “bang,” and a few drops of water splashed out of the cup.

Wen Yufeng remained calm, but the sudden noise startled Qin Qing, causing her to sit up straight.

She quickly recovered, her innocent, confused eyes widening as she looked up at Fu Zhengnan.

Catching this out of the corner of his eye, Wen Yufeng frowned slightly. After a moment, he lowered his gaze and looked at Fu Zhengnan.

“If my attitude is wrong, then just give me a dismissal notice.”

“…”

Fu Zhengnan’s expression darkened.

Across from him, Qin Qing was also stunned, her mouth slightly open in surprise as she looked at Wen Yufeng.

Fu Zhengnan, infuriated by Wen Yufeng’s uncooperative attitude, was about to speak again when the office door was knocked on.

A head popped in.

“Teacher Fu, Director Sun wants to talk to you about something.”

Fu Zhengnan’s lips twitched, but he didn’t refuse. He stood up, casting a somewhat displeased glance at Wen Yufeng—

“Wait here for me. Don’t go anywhere until I get back.”

With that, Fu Zhengnan stormed out.

Sitting across from his desk, Qin Qing was temporarily forgotten.

Qin Qing blinked in confusion, just about to call after Fu Zhengnan, but before she could get a word out, the tall figure standing by her desk leaned down toward her.

Startled, Qin Qing’s beautiful almond-shaped eyes widened in shock.

Wen Yufeng, amused by her reaction, couldn’t help but let his laughter spill out, a flood of light and warmth in his dark eyes.

The flickering light in his eyes was like the stars filling an entire galaxy, even more dazzling and beautiful than the bright summer sun behind him.

Qin Qing was momentarily dazed, then snapped back to reality, feeling incredibly frustrated.

——

How could a boy have such a beautiful smile?

What was that old saying?

Oh, he looks like he could bring disaster to a nation.

Qin Qing pouted slightly, inwardly agreeing with the thought.

The voice above her spoke, filled with unmistakable amusement—

“What did I say to you last time at the arcade? Have you forgotten?”

Qin Qing deflated a bit, shaking her head dejectedly.

“No.”

“Then why aren’t you running?”

“…”

Qin Qing lifted her eyes, annoyed, and glared at Wen Yufeng.

—He clearly knew she couldn’t run away.

Seeing the message in her angry eyes, Wen Yufeng’s mood inexplicably improved.

He tapped his index finger lightly on the desk.

“What are you doing here?”

When he asked this, the boy leaned in a bit closer, and Qin Qing instinctively shrank back.

She hesitated before answering softly.

“Studying.”

“…”

Wen Yufeng stared at Qin Qing for a few seconds, his gaze dropping to the test paper by his hand.

—A high school math test.

If he remembered correctly, it was even the one they had used for this month’s exam.

So, she really was here to study.

Wen Yufeng raised an eyebrow and looked back at her. “Aren’t you fifteen?”

Qin Qing nodded obediently.

“And still in junior high?”

Qin Qing nodded again.

This time, Wen Yufeng was left speechless.

After a moment, he clicked his tongue lightly and straightened up, looking down at Qin Qing.

His eyes slightly drooped, his features still sharp and handsome, with a hint of nonchalance.

“Such a good student.”

A faint feeling, something akin to regret that he had never experienced before, flickered through Wen Yufeng’s heart, but it was gone in an instant.

He lowered his gaze, a slight, teasing smile playing on his lips.

“Well then, study hard. And next time you see me, make sure you definitely…”

His words trailed off, and he gave the girl sitting obediently in the chair a meaningful look.

…Tsk.

So pretty.

But no matter how cute, she’s still like a crystal bunny—untouched and pure.

He didn’t want to dirty her, and he was afraid of breaking her.

He found himself reluctant to even look at her too much. If he ever held her in his hands, who knew how deeply she might affect him?

Better not to get involved.

Calming the restless beast within his heart, the lazy smile on Wen Yufeng’s face faded, though there was an underlying hint of agitation in his eyes.

Qin Qing sat there, biting her lip, her expression a little innocent.

——

Here it was again.

That sudden sense of distance she had felt back at the arcade.

Qin Qing wanted to say something but wasn’t very good at starting conversations with people she wasn’t familiar with, so she opened her mouth but then lay back down on the desk.

She flipped through the math test paper in front of her, her eyes quickly scanning over it.

It was all material she had already self-studied, and it seemed to consist mostly of basic questions, not very difficult.

Turning her emotions into motivation, Qin Qing quickly bowed her head and began working on the problems.

…

Half an hour later, Qin Qing finished the test and instinctively looked up to stretch her arms.

Her gaze met Wen Yufeng’s, who was intently watching her.

He was leaning against a desk diagonally in front of her, his dark eyes deep and captivating.

Qin Qing froze, her hands still extended in front of her, and her cheeks flushed slightly.

She quickly withdrew her hands, jumped off the chair, and said, “You can sit here.”

Wen Yufeng paused, halting the refusal he was about to utter. He walked over, sat down in the chair, and picked up the test paper on the desk.

“…You finished all of it?” he asked, pausing, “In half an hour?”

Qin Qing nodded in response.

But her attention was drawn to the hands holding her test paper—

elegant, long, and perfectly proportioned, with a certain strength to them.

Qin Qing lowered her head in frustration, looking at her own small hands that couldn’t even stretch out much.

How could she compare? Whether in height or hand size, she felt like she was somehow inherently flawed.

…Genes really are a hopeless thing.

In fact, Wen Yufeng was thinking along similar lines at that moment.

The multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions on the paper all had answers, with almost no signs of rough work. The calculations were simple and straightforward, leading directly to the answers, and the proofs had clear logical steps.

This seemingly obedient yet quietly mischievous crystal bunny was actually so advanced academically that most people couldn’t even come close.

He looked up, a faint smile on his lips. “It’s a shame for you to stay at Yishi High School.”

Hearing him speak, Qin Qing finally mustered the courage to say what she hadn’t been able to earlier.

“Leaving school isn’t good…”

Even though she had gathered her courage, her voice still trailed off at the end, lacking confidence.

After all, she had only met him three times… and he had helped her the first two times.

Oh, and the first time, she had forcibly dragged him away from a “battlefield”…

Thinking about it, Qin Qing felt she had no right to give him advice.

Moreover, he didn’t seem like the kind of person who would listen to advice anyway.

But to Qin Qing’s surprise, not long after she spoke, Wen Yufeng fell silent, then suddenly smirked.

“Why isn’t it good?”

“…”

Qin Qing was stumped by the question. She frowned and earnestly pondered over it.

In the world she grew up in, there was never a need to answer such an obvious question as “Why isn’t leaving school good?”

So, she could solve problems, but she hadn’t yet learned how to truly think for herself.

After a long while, Qin Qing finally looked up.

Her delicate, pretty face was serious.

Even though she hadn’t found her own answer, her memory and learning abilities provided her with a piece of “experience.” She remembered overhearing her second uncle scolding her cousin last year during the New Year—

“If you don’t study hard, you won’t get a good job in the future.”

Wen Yufeng watched as Qin Qing stood in front of him, seriously delivering an old-fashioned lecture.

He was about to make a teasing remark when Qin Qing’s tone suddenly changed, her expression still solemn—

“If you don’t get a good job, no girl will want to marry you in the future.”

“…”

Wen Yufeng was taken aback.

A few seconds later, he burst into laughter, turning his face away.

Qin Qing stopped talking, furrowing her brow in confusion.

——

Did something about what she said seem off?

Besides, when her cousin was scolded, he looked heartbroken… So why was this guy laughing?
