Chapter 316: THE HONEYMOON HEIR
Chapter 316: THE HONEYMOON HEIR
AT TIMES like this, I’m glad that Sajangnim left me everything he has.
After Yuno was named as Moon Noa’s successor, he now had access not only to his boss’ wealth— but also to the very thing that made HoneyMoon HoneyMoon.
But, of course, it was a secret that only the select few knew about.
Hence, only Leehan accompanied Yuno to the HoneyMoon Convenience Store.
Yes, it hadn’t been rebuilt yet.
But that didn’t matter.
Their destination was the shelter under the store.
Fortunately, it remained intact.
But, even if it weren’t, their real destination was the secret basement under the shelter— and that was a place that only Yuno, Moon Noa, Leehan, and the ’HoneyMoon’ had access to.
"Hey, you’re here."
"I’m sorry for asking you to come here when you’ve just recovered from your zombification," Yuno said apologetically. "Manager Lee."
Yes, it was Lee Haerin— HoneyMoon Convenience’s store manager.
My boss.
"No need to apologize, Yuno-ya. It’s you who saved me, after all," Lee Haerin said, smiling. "But tell me. Our ’maknae’ is safe, isn’t he?"
Lee Haerin was talking about Yang Dal-sik, of course— their 60-year-old ’maknae.’
After Yuno healed both Lee Haerin and Yang Dal-sik, Moon Noa discreetly asked Leehan to bring Lee Haerin there.
And that’s why Sajangnim brought Haru-nim with him and left Leehan with us.
"Yes, our maknae is safe. He’s resting with his family, and Sajangnim placed bodyguards for them," Yuno assured her. "So, don’t worry too much about him."
Lee Haerin looked relieved. "Thank you, Yuno-ya."
"You don’t have to thank me for something like that, Boss."
"Yuno-ya, that’s not what you say when someone thanks you."
"Oh. Then... you’re welcome."
Lee Haerin smiled and nodded, then she turned serious. "Leehan already told me about your plan, Yuno-ya. Are you sure about it?"
"Are you going to stop me?"
"How can I stop you when you’re now the boss here?"
"You know that’s not true, Boss," Yuno said, teasing Lee Haerin. "I’m not the real HoneyMoon heir between the two of us. After all..." He pointed at Lee Haerin’s chest area with both hands, in a polite manner, of course. "You’re the one who inherited Sajangnim’s real treasure."

"BAMBI, hurry up and harvest Moon Noa’s half heart— Ki Gayoon has reached the location of the cloning device. Ryu Sungbin will snatch the cloning device before Ki Gayoon gets to it, and then he’ll bring it here. We need the heart ready once Ryu Sungbin arrives so that we can activate the cloning device immediately."
"I’m on it," Bambi said to the impatient Song Heejin, his hand already buried deep inside Moon Noa’s chest. But it wasn’t like he didn’t understand why the witch was acting that way. After all, they couldn’t afford to lose the cloning device— especially not when they finally got a hold of Moon Noa. "Oh, it’s here..."
Huh?
Bambi trailed off because he was shocked after he pulled out Moon Noa’s heart.
With just one glance, he could already tell that...
"This isn’t Moon Noa’s heart!"
"What?" Song Heejin asked in disbelief, and then she immediately ran towards him to check the heart. The witch’s eyes glowed red, her expression suddenly darkening. "Yes, that isn’t Moon Noa’s heart. And the Core is also not his!"
"The fake Core is covered in Moon Noa’s heart to deceive us," Bambi said through gritted teeth, crushing the fake heart and Core in his hand. "Where the hell did this sly fox hide his real heart and Core?"

YUNO had successfully ripped Lee Haerin’s heart and Core out of her chest.
In the safest way possible, of course.
Of course, that heart and Core didn’t belong to Lee Haerin.
"Sajangnim’s heart and Core are as healthy as ever," Yuno said while observing the beating heart in his hand. To be precise, it was only half a heart and half a Core now. "Are you alright, Boss?"
Lee Haerin, who was lying down on the surgical table with her body covered in a thick white sheet, opened her eyes. "I’m fine. You put my artificial heart well, so we can begin now."
Yuno and Leehan both turned around when Lee Haerin got up.
Of course, they did that to give the manager privacy while wearing her clothes.
My boss’ ability as an Esper is really great.
Lee Haerin could survive even without her heart and Core because Lee Haerin’s Core had been broken a long time ago.
It was actually a miracle.
A few years ago, a dungeon break occurred while the HoneyMoon Team was having a team building in the mountains. It happened before the HoneyMoon Convenience Store opened.
The dungeon boss that escaped was an S-Grade monster.
At the time, Leehan wasn’t there because Moon Noa had sent him on an errand.
Lee Haerin was the only Esper with them at the time, and she protected Yuno and Moon Noa with all her might. Unfortunately, the tentacle of the monster boss pierced through her chest— breaking her Core in the process.
I did what I could to save my boss.
But Yuno actually didn’t have to do anything special.
That moment, Lee Haerin’s new ability was unlocked.
She was able to gather the broken pieces of her Core and spread them through her body. Then, later, the broken pieces ’melted’ and were absorbed by her blood.
It was an amazing skill.
If all Espers and Guides have that special ability, then we won’t die even if we get our Cores crushed.
But, yeah, there was a reason why Lee Haerin unlocked that skill at that very moment.
"Yuno-ya?"
"Oh, I’m sorry for spacing out, Manager Lee," Yuno said, shaking his head to remind himself that he should stop daydreaming. "I just remembered how you unlocked your amazing ability after your Core was crushed. I’m still amazed even now. It’s a life-saving skill, after all."
"That’s true. But you also know that I only got that skill because the System wanted to use my body as a vessel for Sajangnim’s Core," Lee Haerin said, smiling. It was a genuine smile. The manager wasn’t bitter at all. After all, it saved her life. "Anyway, I’m glad that I get to use Sajangnim’s special skill in his place to lessen his burden."
"Right," Yuno agreed, nodding. "Now let’s make HoneyMoon Guiding Pills with my Mana— but with a twist this time."

"THIS SLY OLD FOX!" Bambi growled, glaring at the unconscious Moon Noa. "He came here not to surrender, but because he knew we wouldn’t get what we wanted from him!"
"You’re right about calling Moon Noa a sly old fox," Song Heejin said coldly. "Since we don’t have any use for that bastard, let’s just kill him—"
The witch didn’t get to finish her sentence.
Huh?
Bambi looked over his shoulder and was shocked to see a hand pierced through Song Heejin’s chest.
The man behind her was tall enough for him to see that face clearly.
"Who’s going to kill whom, huh?"
Bambi growled, wondering how that man got there. "Haru...!"
