Gorgeous Female Tenants

Chapter 354: Stay Away from Xu Xiangbei

Chapter 354: Stay Away from Xu Xiangbei

Zuo Mu’s face was full of regret, cursing himself for underestimating his opponent: "I know he has some unspeakable secrets and still owes me wages. Because I left without notice, he didn’t intend to pay me. I wanted to make his secrets public. I knew there was a secret chamber in his office, so I tried to sneak in. Who would have thought his office was full of hidden traps."

Through the car window, piercing the dark night sky, he could already see the giant red cross atop the hospital building.

The huge red cross symbol, like a giant guarding the city, emitted a gentle light, giving people a warm and safe feeling in the darkness.

Just a few more intersections to cross, and he would reach the hospital.

It was already midnight; there were few cars on the streets. The traffic light ahead turned green, and Xu Xiangbei slowly started the car.

Suddenly, a blinding light shot in from the side. As the ground shook violently, a heavy truck crashed straight in without slowing down.

Xiangbei shivered, realizing something was wrong. Without hesitation, he shifted gears, turned the wheel, and hit the gas pedal, all these actions completed almost simultaneously.

Then he felt the car body sway violently, as a massive force lifted his vehicle, sending his pickup truck flying like a wild horse.

Luckily, he had turned and accelerated just in time to avoid a head-on collision, as the heavy truck slammed into the left rear of his pickup, sending it flying like a ball.

The pickup soared into the air and crashed heavily onto the sidewalk. Upon landing, Xiangbei braked sharply, the screeching sound echoing through the night, sending a chill down anyone’s spine.

The heavy truck roared past without stopping.

Xiangbei glanced back, wiping cold sweat from his forehead with relief. The rear half of the pickup was completely shattered, including the windshield, with all the glass breaking into pieces.

Biting his lip, he asked Zuo Mu in the passenger seat, "How about it, are you hurt?"

The sudden crash jolted Zuo Mu awake from his drowsiness, leaving him pale with fright: "What happened?"

"It’s nothing, something hit us. Sit tight and fasten your seatbelt; I’ll get you to the hospital safely."

The battered pickup wouldn’t start anymore. It was already in poor condition, and the crash, though it didn’t injure Xiangbei and Zuo Mu, had wrecked the vehicle.

Apart from the pickup being totaled, Xiangbei was shocked to find Zuo Mu’s injuries were critical.

The wound was wetting again. Upon touching it, it was all blood. The blood vessel he had simply tied off had ruptured again under the violent impact. Zuo Mu needed to get to the hospital quickly, or his life would be in danger.

Xiangbei tightened the nylon stocking tied around Zuo Mu’s thigh, applying pressure to several points to slow the bleeding.

Carrying Zuo Mu on his back, Xiangbei ran toward the nearby hospital, a sense of urgency rising within him. The heavy truck’s deliberate attack made it clear that someone wanted him dead.

A blinding light shot directly towards him. A van screeched to a stop in front of him, and over a dozen masked men wielding steel pipes jumped out.

They lined up in front, full of menace, the steel pipes glinting under the streetlights.

If he were alone, Xiangbei wouldn’t worry too much, but he was carrying an injured Zuo Mu on his back.

When it rains, it pours, Xiangbei thought to himself bitterly. Placing Zuo Mu on the curb, he approached the masked men.

"Who are you people? I advise you not to block my way, or you won’t have it easy in your next life."

Xiangbei was a bit angry, but his anger only provoked laughter: "Kid, wake up. It’s not us blocking your way. Someone wants both of you dead."

"Brothers, get him."

Over a dozen men with steel pipes surged toward Xiangbei like a tide.

Xiangbei didn’t have time to waste on these people. He needed to finish this quickly to get Zuo Mu to the hospital as soon as possible.

So Xiangbei launched into his Four Flying Iron Gall technique, his hands waving in the air as four iron qiangs shot out like lightning.

The sound of bones cracking and heart-wrenching screams echoed through the night, making the narrow street resemble a living hell.

The masked men fell to the ground, crying in pain and clutching their arms and legs.

After clearing the obstacles, Xiangbei, without bothering to remove their masks, carried Zuo Mu towards the hospital.

Once Zuo Mu was in the operating room, Xiangbei finally took a deep breath, realizing his clothes were soaked with Zuo Mu’s blood, turning him into a blood-covered man.

He took a cigarette from the pack, just about to light it when he noticed the no-smoking sign in the corridor.

He remembered when he first arrived in Jiangcheng and wanted to smoke at Jiangcheng Renmin Hospital, only for Ding Keke to throw away his cigarette. He couldn’t help but smile.

One must have manners, Ding Keke’s righteously stern face flashed in his mind. He walked out to the hospital entrance to light his cigarette.

Just as he took a puff, he heard a commotion of crying and shouting from afar. Had someone died? In a hospital, life and death are common, but it sounded like many people were grieving, which was a blessing for the deceased.

The cries grew closer, and it turned out to be a group of burly men supporting each other as they limped into the hospital, resembling wounded soldiers retreating from the battlefield.

Xiangbei immediately recognized them as the ones he had just fought off because he was too focused on getting Zuo Mu to the hospital to take a closer look at them.

The men saw Xiangbei standing at the hospital door and, as if seeing a ghost, fell silent, staring at him in shock.

Xiangbei truly looked like a ghost, his body covered in blood and dirt, his face cold as he stood there like King Yama waiting to claim their souls.

The once noisy corridor fell silent, quiet enough to hear a pin drop. Some passing patients and doctors glanced curiously, but no one dared to stop and watch.

On one side was a blood-soaked Xiangbei puffing smoke rings, and on the other were a dozen men with strange expressions supporting each other.

Xiangbei blew smoke rings and walked towards the men, "Who’s your leader?"

The men turned and ran; those with broken arms had crazed smiles on their faces, as if they had won a big lottery, filled with excitement.

They felt luckier than those with broken legs and soon disappeared without a trace.

A few with broken legs couldn’t run, but with incredible willpower, they crawled on the ground, grabbing anything they could to pull themselves forward, inch by gritty inch.

Their only goal was to get as far away from Xiangbei as possible.
