Listening to Xu Xiangbei say this, Gu Xinyan’s cheeks reddened even more, "You need to be clear with your words, don’t change the concept. We’re just co-renting, don’t take things out of context and ruin my reputation."

Ouyang Jiahui warned Xu Xiangbei sternly, "That was before she became the leading actress when no one paid attention to these matters. Once she became famous, like now, with you living together in my apartment, those gossip tabloids will have big news. Are you trying to ruin her?"

Gu Xiangyi glanced at the time, "Alright, you guys should head back, security check is about to start."

With everyone looking reluctantly, Gu Xiangyi pulled her suitcase gracefully, like an elegant flight attendant, towards the security check. Suddenly, she remembered something and turned back to give Xu Xiangbei a charming smile.

Even though she said nothing, Xu Xiangbei knew this girl must have something to instruct him about.

With a prophetic look on his face, he said, "Go ahead, what can’t you let go of this time? Just say it, so you can travel in peace after telling me?"

Gu Xiangyi gave him a slightly angry stare, then continued to smile charmingly, "Don’t talk nonsense. I wanted to tell you that my car has been having issues lately. Can I borrow your Lightning?"

"I knew you wouldn’t let me off the hook. I don’t really need to drive the Lightning here in Earth Sea. Okay, I’ll lend it to you for a few days, but you must take good care of the Lightning. It’s like my closest girlfriend."

Gu Xiangyi chuckled angrily, "I promise to treat it like my dear sister."

"Don’t leave yet, I’m lending it to you, but what do I get in return?"

Watching Gu Xiangyi’s silhouette gradually disappear into the crowd, Xu Xiangbei felt a bit lost, recalling the scene when she first barged into his villa, nervously and fearfully diving into his bathtub, he couldn’t help but laugh. That felt like it was just yesterday.

After seeing Gu Xiangyi off from Earth Sea, Xu Xiangbei and Gu Xinyan returned to Ouyang Jiahui’s small apartment.

Xu Xiangbei’s phone rang, it was a number already saved in his phone, turns out it was Lu Daan calling.

Lu Daan’s voice was rough and deep, buzzing as he spoke, "Dr. Xu, I’m Lu Daan, are you still in Earth Sea?"

Xu Xiangbei then remembered he promised Lu Daan that after returning to Jiangcheng, he would treat his father’s illness. Yet, he’s been delayed in Earth Sea for so long, he completely forgot about returning to Jiangcheng.

He replied helplessly, "Things here aren’t finished yet, I can’t go back for now."

Upon hearing Xu Xiangbei can’t return, Lu Daan anxiously started speaking in his hometown dialect, "Dr. Xu, you’re too busy to return to Jiangcheng, that’s okay, my mom said we’ll just bring my dad to Earth Sea to find you, so you don’t have to run to our house."

Xu Xiangbei paused, although Lu Daan’s character is rough and has a bad temper, he didn’t quite like him, but he’s a filial son, and one’s primary virtue is filial piety, thus Xu Xiangbei’s impression of him improved a lot.

Since he already promised to treat his father, it wouldn’t be good to refuse. He can’t leave Earth Sea temporarily, letting him bring his father to Earth Sea was actually a good idea.

He agreed, "Alright, when are you guys coming to Earth Sea? If it’s too late, then wait for me to return to Jiangcheng and we’ll talk."

Lu Daan was thrilled to hear Xu Xiangbei agree, "We’ll drive to Earth Sea tonight, and we’ll arrive in the morning. I have a good friend in Earth Sea, and I’ll take my dad to stay with him."

The next morning, Gu Xinyan started preparing her belongings, thinking about living alone in the single apartment at the studio, her eyes showed a faint sense of melancholy.

On usual days, Gu Xinyan would disregard her ladylike image, eating with oil all over her mouth, cooling herself by stretching out her tongue. But today, Gu Xinyan ate gloomily, filled with worries.

Xu Xiangbei noticed Gu Xinyan’s distress, "What’s wrong? Worried about living alone being inconvenient, don’t worry, I talked to Xiao Bai, they’ll arrange a personal assistant for you."

Gu Xinyan’s eyes brightened, but quickly dimmed again, "A personal assistant? I’m afraid I won’t get along well with them."

Xu Xiangbei nibbled on the dumplings, the hot and savory soup numbing his tongue, yet still frantically stuffing dumplings into his mouth.

"It’s called a personal assistant, but it’s more like a nanny. Anyway, Qinghai Film Company pays for it. If you don’t get along, then replace them, keep changing until you’re satisfied."

Gu Xinyan’s expression relaxed considerably, carefully using chopsticks to pick up a dumpling, gently biting through the fried skin and savoring the stuffing mixed with crab roe.

"Can it be changed like you said? Wouldn’t people say I’m too spoiled?"

"True, let them assign one for you, or better yet, we find one that’s easy to get along with ourselves, as long as the company pays."

Listening to Xu Xiangbei’s suggestion, Gu Xinyan’s brows opened up, her gloom disappeared completely, "Then help me find a female assistant, preferably someone strong, she should be able to carry me just like you, and lift the wheelchair. If only you were a woman, then you could be my assistant."
