Gorgeous Female Tenants

Chapter 193: Jiangxin Building

Chapter 193: Jiangxin Building

President Shan enthusiastically handed the flowers to Ouyang Jiahui, but she was too lazy to take them and instead gave Xu Xiangbei a look, hoping he would help her out of the situation and avoid President Shan’s entanglement.

Xu Xiangbei understood and, with a mischievous grin, took the flowers from President Shan and handed them to Gu Xiangyi: "Didn’t you say our home lacks a romantic atmosphere? With so many red roses, put a few in each room, and the whole villa will be much more romantic."

The Gu Family Sisters gave him a contemptuous look, as if mocking Xu Xiangbei’s far-fetched reasoning. Gu Xinyan said bluntly, "To fill the villa with a romantic atmosphere, you can’t just use one kind of flower. Different rooms obviously need different flowers."

Xu Xiangbei patted his forehead, looking as if he had suddenly realized something: "You’re so clever, Fairy Sister, why didn’t I think of that?"

Xu Xiangbei then stuffed the flowers back into President Shan’s hands. The back-and-forth had wilted the roses considerably, making them less vibrant than before.

Ouyang Jiahui burst into laughter; she didn’t like President Shan, but she was feeling empty and needing suitors to fill the void.

President Shan was a bit embarrassed and said to Xu Xiangbei unhappily, "Who are you? Can you stop meddling in my business with Miss Ouyang? I’ve practiced martial arts, so watch out or I’ll beat you up."

Xu Xiangbei chuckled, and Gu Xiangyi, who had seen Xu Xiangbei’s skills, also laughed. Judging by President Shan’s walk, Xu Xiangbei could tell he was unstable and clearly not trained in martial arts, just someone who liked to brag.

However, since he was Ouyang Jiahui’s friend who came all the way from the county, it wouldn’t be right to bully him.

Gu Xiangyi smoothed things over: "President Shan, take a seat. Miss Ouyang will finish her breakfast soon."

Looking at the simple breakfast on the table, President Shan showed a disdainful expression: "Miss Ouyang, is this what you’re having for breakfast? The bacon is burnt, the fried eggs are hard; there’s no nutrition in this."

This supposedly non-nutritious breakfast took her an hour to prepare. Making breakfast for one person isn’t hard, but making four portions of everything for four people is quite tiring.

Who knew her hard work would be criticized, and a look of annoyance appeared on her face.

"It’s too lacking in nutrition, Miss Ouyang. I’ll take you to Jiangxin Lou for breakfast. Let’s have crab roe soup dumplings. The dumpling skin is thin and the filling is fresh, and when you take a bite, the juice bursts out—it’s so delicious. Then let’s have a basket of Cantonese-style steamed dumplings with preserved meat and sausages—each bite leaves a lingering taste."

Although President Shan wasn’t much to look at with his small eyes, his talk of Jiangxin Lou’s breakfast crab roe soup dumplings and Cantonese-style steamed dumplings really whetted everyone’s appetite.

The mighty Yangtze River flows eastward, splitting Jiangcheng in two. In the middle of the wide Yangtze River, a sandbank formed by a large amount of silt.

A few years ago, a businessman built a seven-story all-wood Jiangxin Lou restaurant on this sandbank. With its ancient style, red walls, green tiles, and multiple eaves, it resembled a historic landmark.

Jiangxin Lou is famous for Huaxia cuisine and offers 24-hour service, allowing people to enjoy both culinary delights and the Yangtze River’s scenic view.

Ouyang Jiahui had just returned to Jiangcheng for two days and missed the crab roe soup dumplings and Cantonese-style steamed dumplings from her childhood, a gleam of longing in her eyes.

"Since you’re so sincere, take us all to Jiangxin Lou for breakfast. Dr. Xu, Sister Gu, Sister Gu, let’s all go together."

Although reluctant, as she hadn’t eaten her laborious breakfast yet, Gu Xiangyi was tempted by President Shan’s suggestion and, with her sister Gu Xinyan, agreed.

Seeing Ouyang Jiahui agree to go to Jiangxin Lou for breakfast, President Shan was excited, his face beaming: "Jack, you drive, and I’ll sit in the back with Miss Ouyang."

Jack twisted his waist and coyly said, "Oh, you make me drive again. I just did my nails, and they’re going to get ruined. Dr. Xu, do you think my nails look nice?"

Xu Xiangbei forced a smile: "Sorry, I can’t appreciate these, I don’t know."

Jack flashed a contemptuous look, holding up his red-dyed nails, full of self-admiration: "Ugh, so unromantic."

At the parking lot by the villa entrance, President Shan looked Xu Xiangbei up and down with a tone of disdain: "Dr. Xu, do you have a car?"

Xu Xiangbei nodded and smiled: "I have a car."

President Shan, showing off his BMW keys, smiled smugly: "This is my BMW, worth over a million. What kind of car do you have?"

Xu Xiangbei didn’t take out any keys, as his car keys were with Gu Xiangyi, so he smiled and said, "Just an ordinary car, not expensive, economical."

Hearing Xu Xiangbei’s seemingly humble demeanor, President Shan laughed behind his hand, his actions reminding one of Jack’s mocking style.

"You’re still young, work hard and make money, even if you can’t afford a BMW, a regular Santana would do."

At this point, Gu Xiangyi took out Xu Xiangbei’s Porsche key from her pocket, gently pressed the button, and the silver sports car’s doors smoothly opened with the engine starting automatically, its purring sound crisp and pleasant.

"I’ll drive your car; help my sister into it, and fold the wheelchair into the trunk."

Looking at the sleek, cruiser-like Porsche, President Shan was stunned. Although Jack was a stylist, he was also a car enthusiast and immediately lit up, stroking the Porsche’s shiny paintwork: "This is a limited edition Porsche, pure German manufacture, worth at least ten million, right?"

"Pretty much, it was a gift from a friend, you can’t even buy it on the market."

Xu Xiangbei glanced at President Shan, whose face had turned so gloomy water could be wrung from it.

President Shan quickly threw the keys to Jack: "Jack, get in quick, if we’re late, there won’t be a place at Jiangxin Lou."

The two cars arrived at Jiangxin Lou, crossing the bridge to Jiangxin Bank, and from afar, they saw the seven-story, ornately carved wooden building, so quaint and charming.

Even in the morning, Jiangxin Lou was packed, with many people coming not only to eat but also to enjoy the Yangtze River view from their windows.

Moreover, Jiangxin Lou’s breakfast was a unique offering in Jiangcheng, attracting many out-of-town visitors as well as international guests.

Unfortunately, when Xu Xiangbei and the others arrived, there were no seats left, not even at the attic with no view, with a waiting line extending to half an hour later.

President Shan felt embarrassed; he had specifically brought Ouyang Jiahui here to please her with a breakfast, only to find no seats and a wait time of half an hour.

He suddenly snapped at the Jiangxin Lou staff: "What’s going on here? Why not add more seats."

The staff member looked helpless: "Sorry, there’s nothing I can do, it’s just too crowded, you’ll have to wait."

Ouyang Jiahui and the Gu Family Sisters all showed disappointed expressions. With Gu Xinyan’s limited mobility, they had traveled all the way here, and it wasn’t convenient to go elsewhere, so they had no choice but to wait quietly.
